Enchanted
William saw in her eyes how uneasy she was. He could not help but wonder if she was still afraid of him after all this time. Even the smile on her face said it all. It was obviously stiff and rigid, very different from her sincere and carefree smile. What he wanted was not her fear, but her love and affection.
Crista was indeed uneasy, and it did not help that William was staring at her with his piercing eyes. "Why... why aren't you moving?" she stuttered.
As they stood side by side at the gate of the airport, for some reason, they seemed to attract the attention of many. It was probably because it seemed strange to see an opposite-looking couple together.
William was handsome as usual, even though he was just wearing a plain white shirt and black pants. Although his outfit was simple, it still made him look noble and intimidating. Beside him, Crista was wearing a crumpled dress with black leather shoes. She looked
Settle Things Once And For All William stretched out his hand and felt Crista's forehead with the back of his hand. She did not have a fever, so what was going on with her? "What's wrong? Do you want me to take you to the hospital?" The hospital near the airport was exceptional. The facilities were new, and the practices were advanced. If Crista wanted, he could drive her there for a check-up. Crista gazed at William's smile and answered, "Stop gloating. Just so you know, it’s your fault. If it weren’t for you, Mr. Ying wouldn't have sped up the car. I would have been fine, but instead, I feel nauseous." 'William must have done it on purpose. Perhaps he wanted to make fun of me, but I would never let him!' she mused. With a chuckle, William reached out his hand and caressed her pale face. "Well, I thought you could stomach that, but I was wrong. By the way, I forgot to tell you that Enzo is a professional racer." Cris
He Was Afraid Of Being Rejected Seeing that Lewis was silent, Carla sighed. "You can't take her away." A woman would not stay with a man unless she was interested in him. And that was what Crista was doing. Carla understood her feelings a lot better now as she remembered their conversation at the club. Even though Crista had not admitted that she had feelings for William, Carla could tell that she was in love with him. Lewis heard Carla's words, but he could not help being nervous, despite knowing the fact long ago. He knew that he was destined to be separated from Crista. Even though they had been together, even though he had done so much for Crista during the past two years, Crista just did not see him the way she did William. She would always chose William, even though he had hurt her many times before. During the past two years, she had never once mentioned William, but after she returned, she had fallen f
She Couldn't Think About The Future Crista turned around and walked into the kitchen. She made a cup of warm honey tea and let him sip it carefully. She knew that even though he was drunk, he was dehydrated. "Drink slowly." She patted him on the back. She could tell that he would never show that side of him to anyone else. It was the first time that Crista was seeing him like that, and she could not help but feel sorry for him. William looked so brilliant and powerful in the public, but he was actually suffering a lot on the inside. With a frown, William lay down on the bed. After undressing him, Crista sat down on the edge of the bed and stared at him. She reached out to caress his face and noticed that he was rather tired-looking. He was risking his health for the sake of his work. But he had everything he could want now. Wasn't that enough to satisfy him? When William woke up the next morning, he saw Crista sleepin
Him Or Me Lewis stared at her with his piercing gaze and did not move an inch. It seemed that he did not want to take his eyes off her. "What if I say that I'm not doing so well? Will you feel sorry for me, Chica?” he gently asked. Crista looked at him but could not seem to utter a word. She had no idea how to answer his question. After all, their history was long gone. "Crista, is it that difficult to answer my question?" Lewis asked again. This time, disappointment was written all over his face. "If William asks you the same question, what will be your answer? Will you let him down?" he croaked. Lewis may be generous and forgiving, but he had his own limits. He could not bear the disappointments, especially if it came to him one after another. If only he could, he wouldn't have accompanied her back to A City and let her see William again. Instead, he would've held her hand and made off with her. "Lewis, please don’t
The Heartless Man And The Heartless Woman Standing in front of the elevator, Crista kept pressing the button to go up. 'Damn it!' She did not realize it until now that how men got when they were angry, especially someone like William. He was a possessive and jealous man, and she felt like she should not have worried about him. However, she did not have the courage to tell him how she felt. She was frowning and muttering when the elevator door opened again. William was inside, leaning against the wall as he looked at her with a cold gaze. "You... You didn't go upstairs?” Crista instantly realized what a stupid question she had asked. "Of course, I haven't. You want to come in or not?” William was soft-hearted to her. Why was he angry? He always knew she was a magnanimous woman and she didn't want either him or Lewis to get hurt. "Oh," Crista said as she ran into the elevator. However, she slipped and bu
I'm Not Waiting For You 'The car was stolen? That's impossible! Nobody would dare to steal my car in this city, ' William thought to himself. He glared at Crista, his eyes fierce with displeasure. Was she gloating over his loss? Nobody would have the gall to steal his car. Still, somebody must have thought that he could outwit William. After all, William did not take out the key from the ignition this afternoon. He was really furious at Crista that his mind seemed to have shut down. Across him, Crista gazed at his glum expression. This was not her fault. She had warned him several times this afternoon, but he chose to ignore her. He probably thought that nobody would dare to mess up with him. But now, just as she had thought, his car got stolen. For some reason, he did not seem so affected when he found out that his car was gone. "What? Are you happy that my car is gone?" William asked sardonically. Even if Crista was silent,
Meet Charlotte In The Hospital Anna was sitting next to William. She angled her head to look at him and asked, "William, did you leave Crista alone in the apartment?" William recognized that Carla still cared about Crista and replied, "Yes, her foot was injured.” He would have taken her with him if she had not sprained her ankle. They had not attended any parties together for quite a while, especially this kind of get- together with his friends, and it would have been a pleasant change. "You are really nice to her." Carla smiled and gave a rueful shake of her head. How she wished she could drink all her admiration and jealousy for Ayla, along with the bitterness in her heart. She raised her glass and poured the entire content down her throat. William said nothing, lazily swirling the glass in between his slender fingers. He refrained from drinking more as he had already consumed a lot, though he was still more clearheaded tha
Promise Me One Thing The next morning, Crista changed into a pair of flats and walked out of the apartment. As soon as she went downstairs, she saw Lewis. 'Why is he here?' She couldn’t avoid him, so she walked up to him. "Why are you here, Lewis?" Crista asked, looking at him. Even though they were so close to each other, there was a distance between them that simply could not be crossed. "I came to see you. William didn't come back last night, did he?" Lewis saw her limping downstairs all on her own. It was obvious that she had hurt her foot. Crista's eyes went wide with surprise. "How do you know he didn't come back last night? Did you meet him? What did you say to him?" Feeling nervous, she asked him one question after the other. She could not help but feel an uneasiness in her heart when she saw that Lewis was in front of her while William had gone missing since the previous night. Lewis smiled. "If you a
You Are Not The Baby's Father Lewis sighed as he made Crista sit down on the sofa. "Will you feel bored staying at home?" Looking at him, Crista hesitated for a while before she shook her head. "Aren't you afraid that I might run away?" "Yes, I am." Lewis looked at her. He was obviously anxious. The only thing that scared him was Crista leaving him. "Then I won’t go out. I am afraid that I won't be able to control myself." Even though Crista knew that William had died, she still wanted to see him. She loved him so much, but she could not even see him one last time. "He is dead. Why are you so stubborn? Even if you did go back, what can you do now?” Lewis wondered why she was being so stubborn about returning to William. Did it mean that he would never get her love even though William had died? Would she never show him any mercy at all? "Then why do you have to do that? You can just leave me alone." Crista didn't want him to interfere her affair! He had lied to her many times n
There Was Still No News About Her Lewis walked over to Crista and saw her in a daze. "What's wrong, Chica? Do you feel sick?" Her face had turned paler, which worried him. Looking at him, Crista remained silent. She didn't stop him when he put his coat on her shoulder and helped her sit on the bed. "If you don't feel good, then you'd better take rest. Don't you remember that the doctor asked you to rest in bed for the first three months?" Lewis felt like he was talking to himself. Was she even listening to him? Crista reached out and touched her belly. Only when she felt the child in her belly would she feel relieved. Leaning against the bed, Crista took a glance at the newspaper that was on the bedside table. She had not thrown it away yet. Perhaps she was using it to remind herself that she should not forget William. Lewis sat next to her and talked to her, but Crista ignored him and fell asleep. A bitter smile appeared on Lewis' lips. He could talk for hours, but she would sti
Will You Be With Me Then, Lewis made Crista sit up and lean against a cushion. "Have some congee first, Chica. You haven't eaten properly for a few days. Or do you want to eat something else? I can ask Sara to make it for you." Crista had no appetite for the food in front of her, but still, she slowly ate as Lewis fed her until the congee was finished. "Chica, you need to take good care of yourself. You need to start eating well because your baby needs the nutrition." Lewis wiped her mouth with a tissue. "My baby," Crista murmured. "I still have a baby." "Yes, Chica. You still have your baby. That’s why you have to take good care of yourself so you won’t hurt your child." Lewis looked at her. Perhaps the thought of her child could snap her out of her lethargy and give her a reason to move on. "My baby, what are we going to do? It’s all my fault that you will never see your daddy. It’s all Mommy's fault, "Crist
He Died To Save Her Crista shook her head. "No way! I want William. He is the father of my child, and he has a right to know about it." Why should she be with Lewis? It was obvious that she resented him. 'What does he mean? And why did he say that he can be with me now that William is not around anymore? William told me that he will be there for me, and that I should wait for him!' Crista remembered it so clearly that it was simply impossible for her to forget his promise to her. "It is true that he has a right to know about your child, but it is too late for that now," Lewis said, looking at her, but in his heart, he was afraid that she might become hysterical and fall unconscious. "What do you mean by too late? What is that supposed to mean, Lewis? What happened to William? I want to see him... No, I need to see him right now!" After saying that, Crista rushed to the middle of the road, and stopped a car th
Let Me Love You In the end, Lewis chose to take Crista away. He went back to the ward, and looked at her. The doctor who followed him in gave her an injection. "Mr. Lui, if you still insist on taking Miss Jin away, then I'll have to finish the paperwork for you so that you will be able to go through the discharge formalities,” the doctor said to Lewis. Money had the power to do anything, so Lewis bribed the doctor to give some tranquilizer for Crista, so that he could take her away from there while she was still asleep. Gian soon arrived at the hospital. "Mr. Lui, everything is done." Lewis nodded and handed him a prescription. "Go through the discharge formalities for Crista first, and once you're done with that, you can go to the pharmacy and get her medicines. I will be taking her downstairs now." After Gia left the ward, Lewis changed Crista's clothes, put his coat on her, picked her up in his arms, and left the h
Escape In The Middle Of The Night If she had shielded William from the bullet, he would have been fine. Crista had done that three years ago, and she survived, so there was a high chance she would be all right again. It was a gamble, yes, but she was willing to take that risk. He should not have pushed her away. She did not need his protection! She now understood William's obsession with keeping her safe. But it was way too late, and she was tethering on the brink of losing her mind. Lewis looked at her, his brows furrowed in jealousy. "You will sacrifice your life for him? If I was the one on the receiving end of that bullet, would you do the same for me?" Crista kept mum, curling up into a ball, her mind tormented. She did not know if she would feel the same for Lewis. All she cared about was how she did not want to see William harmed. Maybe she would save Lewis, or maybe not. The thing was, she had not cont
Want To See Him Lewis held her in his arms as he still could not let her go- Crista had lost a lot of blood and had no strength left in her to struggle. She could only watch as Martin and his men helped William up. "Let go of me, Lewis! I want to be with him. I want to be with him!" Crista was scared. No one could tell what would happen to William as he had gotten shot in his chest. However, she hoped that he would be fine, and wanted to be by his side. William tried his best to stand up and said, "Chica, wait for me!" No matter how strong he was, he still could not help but faint. Martin shouted his name a few times before he looked at Crista and carried William out of there. He didn't take Crista with him because he could not afford to waste time now. If they continued to deal with Lewis, then William was going to die. Holding Crista in his arms, Lewis walked step by step towards Anpu, who was lying
It's Either Your Life Or Crista's When he heard Lewis mention Crista, William's expression darkened. "You kidnapped Chica, didn't you? What did you do to her?" "What I did to her? What do you think I did to her? I can do the same things that you did to her, right? Don't forget that I am a man, too, just like you!" Lewis said with a smug smile. 'What do I want to do to Crista?' Of course, Lewis wanted her, but she did not want him. She would not even let him touch her. She had struggled and resisted him for a long time now. But for William, she became pregnant. She was doing everything for William, but not for Lewis. She didn't care how deep his love was. She would rather hurt him than compromise. "As long as you promise to let Chica go, I'll do whatever you ask me to do," William said. He had made up his mind to do anything and to give up anything for the sake of her safety. "Are you sure that you are willing to do an
What On Earth Did He Want To Do With Her Lewis bent over and planted a kiss on Crista's lips. He had never kissed her long enough or often enough to his liking. It must be his lucky day! He cupped his hand behind her head, holding it steady as he explored her mouth deeper. Crista writhed to get away, very much on the defensive. The more she floundered wildly, the more the ropes scraped away under her skin. There was no chance to avoid his kiss! Desperately, Crista bit down on his lips until her mouth filled with the metallic tang of blood. She bit and kicked, trying to shake off the strong hand that held her fast, but Lewis persisted, tasting her until she almost suffocated beneath him. "Do you want William to know we kissed?" Lewis smirked as he wiped the blood off his lip. He lifted a hand and signaled to Anpu’s men to leave them alone. "What on earth do you want to do with me?” Crista heaved and panted, the struggl
