"You're forgiven," she assures him. he nods silently, his gaze fixed on the floor. Max suddenly jumps up from the floor and begins to walk towards the kitchen. "Hey, where are you going?" Max calls after him. He spins around, holding a piece of paper in his hand."Can I stay here tonight?" he asks eagerly. He looks over at him before nodding. "Awesome," he exclaims, grinning at his friend. Max furrows her eyebrows slightly."Why? Didn't you spend last night in your own bed?" she questions. He rolls his eyes."Well I do! But I don't wanna go back to mine 'cause I know my mom's gonna kill me if I show up there without bringing any clothes," he explains. Max scrunches her eyebrows together in confusion, not understanding what he means."Don't worry, I'll lend you some of mine," Andrew offers. He nods gratefully."Thanks man. It would mean a lot," he admits. Andrew smiles and stands up from the floor."Okay well, since I already talked to you guys, I better get going," he announces, pic
"Shouldn't that be obvious?" she questions, sounding slightly annoyed by his questioning tone. Before he can reply, the doorbell rings again, this time much louder."It must be one of them, I guess," Lucas states. "I'll go check it out," he says, jumping up from the sofa. Max frowns, opening her mouth to object, but he interrupts her by giving her a quick kiss on the lips. "I'll be right back," he promises, smiling reassuringly at her as he heads towards the stairs. Max watches him disappear upstairs. Then, she gets up and heads over to the living room window, pulling aside the curtain. When she does, her eyes widen in surprise. There, standing outside on the doorstep, is none other than Max Anderson.Max stares at him in confusion for a moment. After what seemed like forever, she finally manages to shake herself out of her daze and runs towards the staircase, calling for Andrew. She catches sight of him coming down the hallway almost instantly and shouts his name again. He comes
"Not really. But, I guess I'll have to eventually," she admits. He hums noncommittally in response. After a beat, he decides to change the subject."So... when are you gonna tell us that you're pregnant?" he asks teasingly, smirking down at her. Her face instantly falls into shock as she begins to stammer out an awkward response."Wai-" she starts to say, but then she stops short and stares up at him silently. He raises an eyebrow at her."Huh?" he asks."Wait. What?" she repeats, staring back at him with wide eyes. "No way!" she blurts hurriedly. "How could you possibly be thinking that?" she exclaims. "That's crazy!""Why do you sound so shocked?" he asks incredulously. She shakes her head in disbelief."Because it's totally impossible!" she argues vehemently. "You can't expect me to believe that I'm pregnant! Why would you even ask something like that?!""I'm not expecting you to believe that," he answers calmly. "Just thought I'd give you a heads up. It's kinda hard to ignore
"Thanks."He smiles and kisses her forehead lightly in return, pulling her closer to him as they continue watching the movie. She lays her head on his chest and listens to his steady heartbeat as she relaxes against him. The two of them remain silent for a few moments until Max speaks up again."Hey?" she asks hesitantly. He hums in acknowledgment."When are you going to tell everyone else?" she asks. He sighs and runs a hand through his curls. He stays quiet for a long time, contemplating whether or not he should answer honestly. After a few seconds, he reluctantly turns to face her."Probably never. I'm hoping that once I start dating you, everything will go back to normal," he tells her. She raises an eyebrow at him, clearly skeptical. He ignores her expression and focuses his attention back on the television, continuing to rub circles on her arm with his thumb. "What do you want me to tell them?" he asks her."Nothing," she mutters under her breath. He chuckles lightly at her.
After a quick check of the time on her phone, she decides to make her way downstairs. She hears voices coming from the kitchen and walks over to see who else is there."Hey, guys. Did you order coffee already?" she asks curiously."Yes!" he exclaims enthusiastically, throwing his hands in the air excitedly. Max smiles softly as he watches him."We didn't order any," he explains. She raises an eyebrow."Really? Why not?" she asks confusedly."Because we thought we'd be here awhile," he replies. She furrows her eyebrows in confusion."Why would you want to stay here forever?" she asks them. Max glances down nervously at the floor."It's a surprise," he lies casually. She narrows her eyes slightly at him."What kind of a surprise?" she asks suspiciously."You'll find out soon enough. In fact, I was planning to tell you right now," he says. She frowns at him even more suspiciously."What's so great about telling me now?" she asks him."There is no 'now' about it," he points out. She huffs
And then there was kissing. Lots and lots of kissing. At first he thought it was just some weird dream, but upon further reflection he realized that he really did kiss her last night. He blushes and remembers her lips against his own. He shakes his head slightly in an attempt to clear it. A sudden knock on the door causes him to jump slightly, startled. He looks down at his watch to see how late it is already 9:00 am.Max lets out a frustrated growl and hurries over to the door, pulling it open slightly."What are you doing here?" he asks gruffly, his voice hoarse from sleep. Max smiles mischievously."Good morning, weirdo," she says teasingly, stepping past him and into the apartment without hesitation."I thought you didn't like mornings," he mutters angrily."Neither do you," she replies simply. She shuts the door behind her and walks over to where he is still stood in the doorway. She wraps her arms around his waist and leans her head against his chest, looking up at him. His ey
"I love you too," she retorts cheerfully, grinning. He laughs as he leaves the kitchen, going towards his room. She watches him leave before turning back to face the television. She picks up the remote control and flips through the channels, finding one that plays football. The game currently being played is about halfway through its second half. She switches it off before putting it back on the table where it had been sitting previously and stands from the couch. She heads towards Max's room and enters it once she gets there. She finds him standing by the closet with his clothes strewn across the floor. She moves over to stand next to him as he starts to sort through his clothes. She looks down at him as he searches for something, seemingly deep in thought."What's on your mind?" she asks curiously. He looks up at her, a small smile playing at his lips."Nothing in particular," he says honestly. She raises an eyebrow at him."Really?" she murmurs sceptically. He nods slightly in c
"Are you alright?" he asks cautiously. She nods slightly. He kneels in front of her, shining the flashlight in her face. Max flinches slightly, closing her eyes instinctively."You hurt yourself?" he asks incredulously. She shakes her head."No, my ankle got caught in a root," she explains quickly. He nods, his expression relaxing slightly as he stands again."Where are you headed?" he asks her, still examining her with a serious expression. She bites her bottom lip, unsure of what answer she wants to give him. She knows that she has to tell the truth. She also knows that this is probably the least believable story she could possibly come up with."Home," she finally mumbles sheepishly. He raises his eyebrows slightly."Your parents?" he inquires. She swallows nervously and nods slightly. He studies her for another minute before nodding."Okay," he eventually says. She looks at him confused. "Come on. We need to get you checked out.""What? No! I'm fine!" she argues vehemently. The
“It will be alright, babe. Everything is going to be fine.” Sophie tried to breathe deeply, trying to regain her composure. She knew that nothing was going to be okay if her parents won’t visit the baby, but that wasn’t going to be happening anytime soon. “We’re going to raise this baby together. Your parents are coming to us. I won’t let them leave us behind.” Sophie laughed softly. “That sounds like something a supervillain would say.” Max laughed along with her, kissing Sophie’s forehead. They sat side by side on the edge of the pool. Max was playing with Sophie’s hair absentmindedly, stroking her hair through the wet strands. The water glistened underneath them, reflecting their faces. Sophie had her chin resting on Max’s shoulder. It was peaceful, just the two of them in the middle of nowhere, with nowhere to be except for this private place where they could hide from everyone and everything. Max’s house was huge, and there were so many rooms to explore, but Sophie and Max fo
Sophie feels so happy with her husband Max, she kept kissing him so passionately in his office, that Max finally asked for a break and they made out on the couch until Sophie felt so breathless it was almost painful to stand up straight. They were still holding hands, Sophie could feel Max’s calloused fingers around hers, as he walked them towards their bedroom. He pressed against Sophie, making his way down slowly until they reached the bed where he pushed her onto the mattress. Sophie giggled as he crawled over her. She felt like she could burst with happiness every time he came home from work after long days at the hospital, when it had taken him hours to go home and rest. He told her that he always needed a few minutes before going home, to calm himself before facing her, because seeing her face was such a beautiful sight. He said that even though she looked tired, her eyes were sparkling like stars. Sophie knew that he didn’t lie to her. His green eyes sparkled as well, and
“I love you, Sophie” he said huskily, staring deeply into her eyes. She smiled at him lovingly before she pressed her lips against his once more, pulling him even closer. She reached down and grabbed hold of the hem of his T-shirt, pulling it over his head quickly and tossing it to the floor. He stood up from the bed and pulled his boxers off. Once his pants and shoes were discarded to the ground, he crawled back up on top of her. He held himself above her, hovering over her body. He stared down at her, studying her features carefully. “Are you sure about this?” He mumbled, staring intently into her eyes. She smiled sweetly and wrapped her arms around his neck. “Yes. I want you so badly. I’ve waited too long. Let me show you exactly what I mean.” She whispered. “Show me.” He whispered back. She slipped one of her legs between his knees and placed both of her hands around his neck. With a swift movement, she yanked on his hair and rolled onto her back. “Oh yeah, Max!” She cried
“Missed you too.” She replied. The next moment, she felt Max’s hands traveling slowly up her back. When he was touching her, goosebumps appeared on her arms. He noticed how tense she became and immediately stopped moving. He stared at her for a long time without saying a word. She raised her head and looked directly into his eyes. His expression told her everything. He was completely mesmerized by her, and he didn’t know how to react anymore. “Max, please…” Sophie breathed, breaking the silence. She needed him right now. “I’ll stop.” He mumbled. “No, Max. Please don’t stop, I need you.” She pleaded, looking at him with those big beautiful blue eyes. Her hands were gripping onto the sides of his face, pleading with him to not stop. His eyes softened and he took his hands off of her and moved them behind her neck. He pulled her closer and connected their lips together. As soon as their lips touched she felt her entire body shiver. It felt nice. Her arms slowly started circling h
Max broke the kiss first, his breathing heavily. He kept his head close to hers, his eyes staring deep into hers. He caressed her cheeks with his hands and smiled. Her eyes were filled with tears. She was crying. He wiped away the tears that flowed from her eyes with his thumb. “Are you okay?” He asked worriedly. “Yea. I’m fine,” she replied softly, sniffling. “Just...just happy.” She said, letting out a quiet sob. He pulled her closer to him and wrapped his arms around her. “Me too, I’m just really happy that I can hold you in my arms again.” He whispered against her hair. She looked up at him and kissed his nose. She couldn’t help smiling. “You’re so adorable.” She whispered, nuzzling her nose against his. He smiled. He knew exactly why she was acting like that. She was nervous. She was scared that he might leave her if she confessed what she really felt. He understood perfectly well why she was acting that way. But that wasn’t something he was going to allow to happen. He
Max shivered involuntarily and Sophie immediately put her arms around him. They stood like that for a minute or two, feeling each other’s warmth, enjoying the feeling of the other person beside them. Once they had calmed down, they went upstairs to get changed out of their damp clothes. After they had gotten dressed, they were seated on the couch in the living room watching TV. Sophie was resting her head against his shoulder and was looking at him expectantly. He had an idea and a grin crept across his face. He gently leaned forward and kissed her forehead. She blushed lightly. She looked up at him questioningly and raised an eyebrow. “What’s this for?” She asked curiously. Max smiled happily. “It’s nothing special. It’s just a thank you kiss. A very special thanks. Now go and get ready, we’re going to go somewhere very special tomorrow.” He said smiling happily. Sophie jumped to her feet. She hugged him tightly. “Yes! Thank you!” She whispered excitedly. He chuckled and held he
“Do you wanna talk about what’s bothering you? We don’t need to talk if you don’t want us to.” He spoke softly, hoping that she wouldn’t hate him for asking. Sophie’s shoulders dropped a bit. “No, we should probably talk. It will make everything easier for both of us if we talk it out.” She replied quietly. Max nodded. As soon as he parked the car in their parking lot, he turned off the ignition. Sophie looked confused as well as nervous. She opened her door slowly. Max grabbed her hand before she closed it. She looked back at him with a questioning gaze. “Are you sure? You don’t have to do this if you’re uncomfortable.” He assured her. Sophie looked thoughtful for a minute. “I just wish my mom wouldn’t make a big deal out of everything. She’s never liked me dating guys.” She confessed. “My father and my sister always support me and they’ve been great about my dating life, but they always treat me different when I bring boys home. Mom always says that I’m not good enough for any
Max kept staring at Sophie, the most beautiful girl he ever seen, she always looks so perfect for him and he always want to kiss her. She was smiling in his direction, which made his heart flutter inside his ribcage. She was the first one to notice his stare. “Hey, don’t look like you just saw a ghost. You’re making me nervous!” She laughed. Her laugh is beautiful too but Max didn’t mind it that much because her laugh was always contagious, even though he knows she probably wasn't talking about laughing at him. He smiled back at her, trying not to blush. “Sorry. I’m just admiring how gorgeous you are today. And your smile is so bright! I can already tell you will make many handsome suitors when you graduate this university in the next five years!” He said with a cheesy grin plastered on his face as if he would actually have any chance of winning her hand. He’s been crushing on her since their first meeting. She was the one who introduced them. They were standing in line waiting
Still, the moment that he met Ms. Anderson, he realized that he couldn’t hold on to all the negative feelings that he had harbored for a while. After all, she didn’t treat him any differently, except for her son. She treated him the same way she would treat anybody else, no matter if they were born here or not. And so far, she had never once done anything to indicate that she would be unhappy with the situation he had found himself in.“Well, I’m glad to hear that. Now, do you want something to drink? I’ll get it ready right now. Do you want to sit down anywhere or should I go upstairs and get the glasses out for you?” she questioned, looking at him.“You don’t have to worry about me. I’ll be fine by myself,” he said, waving his hand dismissively. With that said, she got up from the sofa, headed towards the stairs, and headed up.Max looked around the living room. It seemed as if everything had remained intact throughout the years, although he knew that there were signs of changes ov
