Walking into a Storm

Amelia POV

I was still smiling, getting ready to thank Lena for the fight, when my stomach let out a loud growl. It was so loud that all three of us—Cassidy, Lena, and I—burst into laughter. The tension from sparring melted away, and suddenly, everything felt a bit lighter.

“Well, looks like I’m hungrier than I thought,” I said between giggles.

Cassidy nudged me with a grin. “Sparring does work up an appetite. Let’s go grab something to eat in the kitchen.”

As we walked, I couldn’t help but replay the fight in my mind. The thrill of shifting into Snow, the way we moved as one, how we were in sync... it was exhilarating. My thoughts were interrupted when Lena spoke up, her tone more casual than I expected.

“That fight was really impressive,” she said, looking at me with genuine curiosity. “Where’d you learn to fight like that? Were you a warrior back home?”
