Alpha Asher rested his head against the back of his leather office chair.

His eyes, covered by an opaque veil, were raised to the ceiling. The ash-blond-haired Alpha had immediately connected with his entire pack after receiving a message from his Luna.

The information he was rushing to convey was simple: the Mad One was going to give control to his wolf for an indefinite time. The pack was forbidden to set foot within the cottage perimeter allocated to them.

Avery, his Beta, had rushed out of the office to warn the other packs that had come especially to celebrate Luna Scarlett. As soon as he had finished informing the other Betas, he hurried back to his Alpha.

Avery had found Asher, elbows resting against his desk and forehead pressed against his interlocking fingers in front of him.

"Is everything okay, Alpha?" the Beta asked.

"Yes, I just hope Scarlett will be back long before Alpha Black leav

(Bianca) OH. LA. LA. Okay. I think my request was a big mistake. Magnus's green eyes had just now turned bright red. I can't help but bite the inside of my cheek to keep from laughing at the thought of my Mate's wolf having acute conjunctivitis. Strangely enough, I'm not afraid. But, I can't deny that the wolf's presence is far more imposing than the human's. I mean, Magnus is already frankly imposing and dominating, but here, we are entirely on something else with the animal. I remain sitting, kneeling on the sofa while holding my breath. It's completely crazy the effect my Mate has on me. On the other hand, I thought I would be more in control if Magnus let his wolf take the lead. However, that was a mistake. A terrible mistake. I understand their stories about soul mates completing each other a little better. I feel as connected to the man as I do to the animal, and I find that downright incredible.

Luna Scarlett and Alpha Asher were still sitting in the Alpha's office. They had gradually regained some semblance of calm and were now giving each other worried looks. "I hope everything goes well for Bianca," Scarlett said. Asher nodded and sighed deeply. "Normally, everything should go well for her... she's his soul mate. There's no reason for an accident to happen, although I really wonder how a mere human manages to be around that monstrous energy." Scarlett nervously ran her hand through her flaming red hair. "That's right. And, we're talking about Alpha Black's wolf! The all-powerful Maska! The wolf who fell into destructive madness because his soul mate still hadn't appeared!" Asher nodded again. "Let's just hope he doesn't hurt her." Scarlett frowned and put her arms around the back of her soulmate's neck." I'm really worried about her. That wolf has been alone for so many years, and I'm afraid he'll be cruel to her. And, if that wer

Bianca waited a few minutes before hearing three knocks on the bedroom door. "It is me, Love," Magnus articulated, his voice less guttural than Maska's. The young woman slowly opened the door and merely raised an eyebrow at the Alpha. Magnus opened his arms to embrace her, but she raised a hand to stop him. "Let's be clear here, Magnus. Maska has upset me. And, while I conceive the idea that you two are totally different people, there is no way I'm letting you hug me while I'm knowingly ignoring Mister Wolf," she said thoughtfully. The sparkle that usually shone in Bianca's eyes was completely gone. "I completely understand that you are not responsible for what happened between him and me, but I don't intend to treat this body any differently depending on the host that occupies it." In his mind's eye, Magnus could see his wolf lying down, his eyes hidden beneath his paws. His ears had suddenly perked up as he heard t

Bianca had finally managed to talk to Luna Scarlett. She had to argue for about fifteen minutes before Black finally agreed to leave her alone with the Luna of the Crescent Moon pack. It was only after the intervention of Alpha Asher that Black was more or less obliged to leave her. After receiving a telepathic message from his Luna, the Alpha with the ash-blond hair had pretexted a last-minute meeting. In reality, Black would never have made an effort to attend. However, because Bianca's eyes sparkled with admiration, he had to go. His Luna had been amazed to hear that all the Alphas would be together and that they were dying to talk to him. * * * Black couldn't take it anymore. It was only a few minutes since he had been separated from his Luna, and he now had only one desire: to get up and join her immediately. He listened distractedly to the stories the other Alphas present told him without paying the slightest atte

Shit. Shit. Shit. I'm still running. Hurry up. I have to hurry. I can't lose them. I get hit in the ribs and fall with a muffled scream. I quickly stand up and hear the eerie crack of my bones snapping back into place. There's no way I will show them they have the upper hand on me. I raise my head and show my fangs to my attackers. My eyes are entirely black, proof of my vampire DNA, proof that I intend to take their lives if they continue to come after me. That's the problem, and they know it. I have only two weaknesses. The first, for centuries now, is that I no longer take life. I abhor murder and the unnecessary shedding of blood. I am a diplomat, and I am against the use of violence when it can be avoided. One of my race approaches from behind and pulls my hair. "She's not marked," he starts shouting at his accomplices. How dare he? How dare a mere henchman lay a hand on me? I le

Alpha Asher's eyes suddenly became cloudy. Once they had returned to their original color, he cleared his throat, interrupting the exchange between the Mad One and his Luna. "My men have just notified me. The road has been cleared, and you can leave as you wish now. Of course, you're free to stay and celebrate my Luna," said the ash-blond-haired Alpha, grinning at his soul mate. Black completely ignored the low masses of the people around and kept his forehead pressed against Bianca's. "What do you wish for, Love?" he asked without taking his eyes off her. "I want to go home. I still haven't seen Rosy, and I'm supposed to work tomorrow..." Bianca stopped talking, realizing the murderous expression in the Alpha's eyes. "Besides, I have to pick up my stuff at the Crossroad Cafe to come to stay with you. That is if the invitation still stands." The Frenchwoman breathed a sigh of relief as she felt the wolf's rage gradually fade. "You're right, Love. W

Bianca raised both hands and quickly took a step backward to free herself. She had puffed up her cheeks with air and looked at the Alpha like a child who had done something stupid. _ Idiot," Mr. Wolf growled at Magnus. Black quickly placed a hand on Bianca's lower back and pulled her back to him. "Love? "he said as he heard her noisily release the air between her lips. Bianca blinked quickly and pushed him backward, and headed for the bathroom. She casually grabbed one of the bags lying on the floor and slammed the door behind her. Black remained frozen in place. He ran a hand across the back of his neck, his eyes fixed on the door, not knowing what to do in this case. _ Go see Mate," Maska whispered. The man and the wolf froze as they smelled the floral scent of their soul mate. Black staggered toward the bathroom and yanked the door open. He almost lost his balance when the thick steam, mixed with the perfume of h

Bianca held the seatbelt in both hands and stared blankly at the landscape. Magnus had explained to her that she would experience her first heat since she was the marked soul mate of a wolf. Had she received the news well? No. * * * Magnus had had to take forever to explain to her what heat was. They had a translation problem at that point. However, when the meaning of the word finally seemed to click in Bianca's mind, she made a horrified expression and started frantically searching for clothes. Black had pulled out of the bag a long white dress with thin straps buttoned across the chest. Bianca grabbed the garment with one hand and grinned at the Alpha. "Oh boy, Mister Red Flags takes it to another level?" Black grunted as he saw his soul mate begin to dress. Bianca buttoned the dress to her chest and gave him a questioning look. "What? Is

It was at this moment that the doors of the Crossroad Café opened to let the other Alphas in. The men were impressively large and radiated a strength typical of Alphas. They all bowed slightly to the Mad One and looked disgusted when they saw Augustine. "We demand to see the hybrid, and we demand punishment for the parents who dared to give birth to him," one of them said firmly. Bianca immediately turned her head toward the new group of wolves, her eyes like silver orbs. She raised her finger to them, showing them her wolf's fangs: "Sit down and be quiet, you morons." Magnus smirked. Bianca had just called them "morons," and now he knew the deep contempt she felt for all of them. They all stood up straight. They started walking like disjointed puppets and took their places on a chair around the big table. The Alphas looked at each other in terror, realizing their wolves would not allow them to disobey the order

Bianca gave him a beaming smile and snickered. "What do you think, Ari?" "Who's Elle?" snarled Magnus, displeased to the core that the cub would dare call his Luna so familiarly and worse: they had acquaintances in common that he had no idea about. Off to the side, Augustine straightened up and shot an accusing look at Alo. "Old man, leader of the Wind Tribe, what does this mean?" Old Al raised his hands as a sign of peace, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "That's the primary function of the Crossroad Café, to provide a refuge to rest." Harry jumped on his legs, stumbling and losing his balance as he tried to walk to the stairs. However, when he reached Bianca's level, she grabbed him by the shoulder and pulled him back, preventing him from moving forward. "Hell no, dumb Ari!" she declared curtly. Everyone present was surprised to see the anger on Bianca's face. She was furious with him and p

Harry found himself on all fours on the ground, crushed by a monstrous force that forced him to submit. He tried to raise his head, but it was as if an invisible, monstrous hand was pressing against his neck. He barely managed to raise his eyes and met the incandescent gaze of the Mad One. In his mind, he could hear the heartbreaking cries of his wolf. The animal part of him bowed to the ground before a colossal black presence. Bianca started to take a step toward the Red Moon Alpha, but Black lifted her with one arm to rest her against his hip. With each additional step Magnus took, Harry felt more and more crushed to the ground. His breathing became labored, and he felt like his lungs and heart were being squeezed by an invisible force. Alpha Black looked down at him, his usual cold, the impassive expression on his face. However, no one could ignore the dull rage emanating from him. He placed a kiss against the temple of his Lu

As everyone waited for the bacon to cook, the door to the Café opened to reveal Connor, the Red Moon Beta. He bowed respectfully to Alpha Black but couldn't help but grimace in disgust when he saw the Vampire. Black, as usual, ignored him completely. His attention was focused on the upper floor of the café. He didn't understand what was happening but could feel Bianca's euphoria through their soulmate bond. Maska was trying to communicate with Mitexi. However, the she-wolf and the human had created high barriers around their minds. "Many moons since I've seen you, Alpha Harry," Old Al' greeted warmly, recognizing the imposing redhead who had just entered. The Alpha moved closer to them and watched wordlessly as the men gathered around the little girl. He'd been living in seclusion for many moons, and being around many people today made him and his wolf extremely uncomfortable. He'd surprised Connor this morning by telling him he'd be coming to the meeting

Bianca watched nervously outside as Magnus drove their car toward the Crossroad Café. _I'm with you, Bianca. You have nothing to worry about," Mitexi tried to reassure her. _Mate isn't feeling well," Maska grumbled to Magnus. The Alpha took his Luna's hand and intertwined their fingers. "Is it the prospect of meeting the other pack leaders that scares you, Love?" he asked his Luna. Bianca nodded and nervously scratched her thumbnail with the ring and middle fingers of the same hand. "You can talk to me, Love. There's no harm in expressing your fears out loud. It is our honor, Maska and I, to be here to listen to you and reassure you," he continued. "I won't say that you have nothing to fear, but know that I will be by your side throughout the meeting. As much as it disgusts me to have to tell you, the leech... I mean, Augustine will be there too." Bianca smiled slightly and leaned to the side so she could hug th

Luna saw the Alpha's eyes turn their incandescent color. Mitexi, now entirely in control of the human body, straightened up and slid to the ground. Maska grabbed her by the hips, "What are you doing, Mate?" The silver-eyed she-wolf gave him a defiant smile and pushed him backward. "Sit down. Don't move," she ordered him. Bianca had squealed with excitement and was covering her eyes as she hopped up and down on her legs. "Oh yeah! Show him who's boss, Mitexi!" Maska took on a puppy dog look, his bottom lip trembling slightly. "Mate didn't like it when I licked her. Mate is not satisfied." Mitexi laughed, nodding her head no. Black began to kiss Bianca's lips gently. He placed small kisses, pressing more insistently at times and pulling his head back as soon as she sought to deepen the kiss he gave her. Bianca wrinkled her nose and tilted her head to the side. "If you're done, I'm going back to Jane. I couldn't finish my conversation with her the other day." Black merely looked at her, his face perfectly inexpressive. Then he lifted Bianca to come and lay her down against the desk. The young woman suggestively raised her eyebrows and swallowed a small cry when the Alpha spread her legs to come and place himself between them. Black began to stroke the young woman's neck with the bridge of his nose. He began to growl, his voice mixed with Maska's: "Why is my Luna wearing pants today? Mate knows she has to wear a dress in the pack house. Mate must easily remain accessible to us." Bianca gave him a beaming smile and shook her hand

  • Crossroads Café   87 : official requests

"What does this mean, Duncan?" asked Black, throwing a stack of papers in his Beta's face. Duncan had remained perfectly impassive, too used to his Alpha's mood swings. His only regret today was that he hadn't asked his Luna to join them in the office. "Exactly what the papers say, Alpha Black. The packs are asking to see the hybrid Rosy," the Beta replied calmly, bowing his head. Duncan swallowed hard. His Alpha's lethal energy was growing at a phenomenal rate, and he felt his organs being completely crushed. "Why?" the Alpha grunted as he backed up against his leather chair. "Why what, Alpha?" said Duncan. "Why do they want to meet her? What's in it for them? What need do they have to see a girl's face? Are they challenging me, Duncan? Can't you see how many possibilities lie beneath these seemingly candid requests?" The Alpha's eyes flickered red, showing the wolf's surface presence. _We have given an
