A TROUBLED MATTEOMatteo did not sleep a wink last night. He had been thinking all through the night. There was too much on his mind and it greatly worried him. This morning, he had heard his wife leave for work and fought the urge to see her. He had noticed even from his room how quietly she had left, he didn't hear her footsteps but he could hear the slight ruffle of her clothes He felt so sad that his own wife had to sneak out of the house just to avoid him. He realized that he may have behaved in a way that pushed her further away from him. He silently scolded himself for being so stupid and letting his emotions get the best of him. He vowed to do better. It had been hours since his wife left for work and he had not gotten out of bed yet. He just lay on his back and looked blankly at the ceiling, lost in thought. He was not going to work today because his destination had not been determined yet. He feared for the future of his company and his thirst for answers only increased.
A DATE & A THERAPISTDiana was not so sure if she was moving fast or slow with Nicholas at this point. She was scared to admit that she didn't give much of a fuck, to be honest. The way she saw it, Matteo had his fun at the expense of her emotions and she was willing to do the same to his detriment."It's a date then. Let me allow you to get back to work," Nicholas proclaimed heartily."See you later Nicky," Diana joked."How long were you holding that in?" Nicholas asked in amusement."Since the day you told me to call you Nick," Diana said and cracked up.Nicholas chuckled loudly after her."That long?" Nicholas asked with a smile."You have no idea," Diana said as she cleaned a teardrop from the corner of her left eye. What she said was not even funny, Nicholas just has a way of loosening her up. He was so open to her opinion and genuinely listened when she spoke. He got up and straightened his suit and turned to the door. He walked with his shoulders held high and his head straig
MARIA'S PAINMaria was fed up with Chad's constant avoidance. They needed to get to the bottom of their issue. She felt like she was wasting her time. She did not even know if she was still in a relationship. She had been feeling quite terrible after her late-night dinner with Diana. She had lied to her best friend about a guy that had not even bothered to call her.The things she did for love. She had drank herself to a stupor because she could not live with herself for what she was doing. She woke up with a painful hangover. When did it get to all this? She remembered that she had been the one to tell her friend that they were not supposed to keep anything from each other. Yet here she was being the one to break the rule. She wished that she could tell Diana everything. She wished that they could both join hands and bring that bitch down but because of love, she had to play with her best friend's life.Because of love, she was turning into a very horrible person and she felt helples
THE BLACK KNIGHTMatteo ignored Priscilla the whole time.He showed her in his subtle ways that he was in no mood for bullshit. He nursed the drink he gave her and watched it stir.Priscilla was beaming from ear to ear as she sat comfortably across Matteo. She had him where she wanted him which was beside her but he was sitting in front of her with a vacant look. For the first time in her life, she could not read Matteo and it excited her so much. She did not know his game nor did she know his move. This surprised her. She shook with excitement as her cold champagne went down her throat. It took a while before Priscilla broke the silence."We should catch up, it's going to be a long flight," She quipped while trying to break the mood that Matteo had."I don't mind the silence," Matteo dryly answered. He was not ready to give in to her bullshit. All he cared about was getting things done immediately."Well, I do and it's driving me nuts," Priscilla responded and sat up."That does not
FORBIDDEN HOME"What do you hope to gain from this? I swore I would never come back here!" Matteo demanded angrily.Matteo waltzed back into the plane and sat down. He folded his arms like a petulant child and stared ahead stubbornly. The flight attendant approached him, trying to calm him down and offer assistance."Turn this plane around," Matteo firmly ordered the pilot, as he walked towards the cockpit with a determined expression on his face. He completely ignored the flight attendant who went red with embarrassment.Priscilla sat unmoved by Matteo's reaction. If only he knew what was in store for him. She had prepared herself for a reaction like this, so she was not phased in the least bit.The pilot who was a man in his prime, regarded Matteo with cold stares."I am afraid I can't do that sir, I am not on your payroll son," The pilot sternly said. He knew better than to give in to Matteo's demands."I will not forget this," Matteo firmly said as he glared harshly at the old man
A LUNCH DATENicholas chose a fast food restaurant for their lunch location.Workers of the company frequented the place before and after reporting for their various duties. He believed that this would be the best place for them since he had gotten good reviews from them.Diana was giddy with excitement and nervousness. It was becoming a habit, to hang out with Nicholas who was a guy outside of her marriage. She followed Nicholas as he led her to the cozy little booth on the corner with a smile. She was sure that if Maria could see her right now, then she would definitely be squealing with excitement. It was just noon and the restaurant was fairly filled up with customers. A waitress approached the booth with a friendly smile and handed two menus to the couple.Diana was genuinely famished. In her haste to get out of the house earlier, she had forgotten to make a light breakfast for herself. Besides it would take too much time and noise to move around in the kitchen. She opened her me
NANA'S PETMatteo needed his privacy from everyone and everything. He knew Nana hated the farmhouse because it brought back memories of her husband. His grandfather loved to plant vegetables and flowers in the garden, and Nana always helped him. Together, they would spend hours tending to the plants and enjoying each other's company. When his grandfather passed away, she did not have the strength to go on planting. That was how it was abandoned and that part of her that loved to grow things had died with the love of her life.Matteo had always hidden in the farmhouse as a child when he wanted to be alone or whenever Nana's hovering and nagging became too much to bear. He would often climb up the tall oak tree in the yard.It was a peaceful escape from the chaos of his everyday life. Upon reaching the huge entrance, he found out that it had been locked with a padlock. The door design was a latch-style lock.He removed his suit and smiled. It was a good thing he could still pick locks.
STUCK WITH PRISCILLAPriscilla walked back to the house dreading her imminent confrontation with her stubborn and opinionated future grandmother-in-law. She passed by the old maid again and completely ignored her this time. But the old maid didn't seem to mind, she just kept smiling. Priscilla entered the house and headed for Nana's chamber to relay the bad news to her. However, the room was empty by the time she got there. She wondered where Nana could be. She headed for the official house bell and rang for the butler, she wasn't about to start searching this big house for the old bitch. The butler emerged from a dark room and arrogantly strode towards her. Priscilla inwardly groaned at the approaching servant. She could not stand his pompous ass. She adjusted her dress unconsciously and faked a smile. "Festus, may I know the whereabouts of the Lady, please," she asked politely, hoping her falsehood wasn't evident. Festus hesitated for a moment, then replied, "I'm sorry, but I
