Pleasant surprise my fucking foot. 

I took Caldwell's hand with a cold-as-death look on my face. For a while, I wondered if he had carted Camille off to Mexico or who knew where but her scent lingered faintly in the air and I relaxed- mentally.  

My body however had another problem of its own. It'l couldn't fucking relax. I couldn't relax. I was sprung up tighter than a coiled spring. 

When Caldwell had called Sunday night, demanding that his daughter take a week off, of course, I had wanted to say no. But my friend was a guru and it was only a matter of time before he found out that something was going on between me and his daughter.  

The only thing we had going was that he was mostly clueless about everything else aside from his computer.
