Camille's POV
“Done,” Gavriel announced, giving me a lopsided smile.
We had just finished up all the work I had left for the day. In an hour. If it were just me, I probably would have had three hours more. I hadn't expected him to help out with my work. I had thought he would tell me to finish up at home or continue tomorrow.
I watched the hulk of a man assess the mails he had helped me with and nod in satisfaction. He must have had his share of back breaking work for the day. But he still took on mine in a blink.
Just how sweet could a man be?
“So, Mr Donovan,” I said, turning off the systems and packing up. “Do you make it a habit to help all your assistants? Or am I simply the lucky girl?”
“Oh you're lucky,” he murmured, rising to stand behind me. &ldquo
Camille's POV"Megan, stop whatever you're doing!" I screamed as I walked into Megan's apartment. She sat in her living room with half a cupcake and her laptop, staring at me with a lazy smile on her lips."Hello to you too, Camille. Unfortunately, you have a deadline-""Who cares?! Just tell them your cat died or something," I said, rushing towards her, dragging her off the chair."I don't even have a cat!" Megan whined as I yanked her towards her bedroom door."Your clients don't know that. And please change those sweatpants, we're going shopping!""Ooh, where are we going?" She teased as we stepped into her cottage core bedroom. There was a log of wooden furniture. From the bed frames to the shelves, cabinets and stools. Hell, even the floor was wooden. Megan ha
Camille's POV"I-It's nothing," I muttered, avoiding his gaze."There's a bruise, the size of a fucking fist on your face, Camille. I'm not stupid!"Crap. I had thought I had managed to conceal it properly. I stole a look at the window of the car beside us. I couldn't even make out the bruise. To any one, it shouldn't be visible.Anyone who didn't have eagle eyes, that is. Gavriel's eyes narrowed in slits. He tilted my face up, inspecting where Jordan had punched me. It still hurts as hell so when he grazed his fingers against it, I winced in pain."What happened Camille?""Nothing!" I snapped. I could not tell him what happened. Jordan had to remain a secret. Until I could figure out what to do about the greedy asshole, I could not have Gavriel stepping in and ruining things for me.
Gavriel's POVCamille stepped out of the bathroom, a smug look on her face. "Hello there,""Oh sweet fuck," I groaned. She had my shirt on, plastered to her wet, naked body underneath. I had never seen anything sexier. It had been hard enough to ignore that she was in the shower. All I could think about was the water running over places I wanted to run my hand. But she had stormed into the bathroom angry that I had ignored her warning until it was too late.Well sue me. I wasn't stupid, I knew when a woman was flirting. And women were always flirting with me. The money, the fame, it attracted them like bees to fucking honey."You like?" She purred, walking towards me. I sat on a chair in the bedroom. I have been going through my speech for the conference tomorrow.&n
Camille's POV"Really?" I gasped suddenly, recalling that I had seen that folder on the desk in our suite. I had just assumed he would pick it up as go. But then we got carried away in the shower and had to rush out of the suite when we saw the time."And now we welcome Mr Donovan to the high table, our CEO extraordinaire...""Shit," Gav cursed, striding towards the high table. I couldn't follow because I wasn't exactly invited to the high table. What was he going to do? He had to give the opening speech, and well, it was partially my fault. He was right, I had seduced him.I was ushered to a front seat, not so far from the high table. Gavriel looked totally calm and collected while I resisted the urge to bite my nails, thinking of a solution. The master of ceremony read Gavriel's citat
Gavriel's POV"It's another quarter of the year, give this your best and always aim for the next level. If there is no next level, create one. Be the next level." I addressed the head of departments. It was some sort of habit, if I was in town, at the start of every quarter, I would address issues on what we had failed to achieve in the past quarter and what our goals were."Yes sir," they chorused, clapping their hands in applause.Running an organization was hard but if there was a common goal we all worked towards, then everyone would want to make a difference."Thank you for your time," I said and watched them troop out of the board room, confused looks on their faces.I usually was the one leaving the board room first, not them.Camille sat beside me, bat
Camille's POVI waited as Gavriel ran his eyes down my body, mostly ogling my tits. I had known they were his weaknesses."Of course I do, get over here,"Grinning, I made my way over to him and in flash found myself bent over the desk. Jordan had called asking for his money as usual. His money. I wish I could break that bastard's head. I owed him nothing. But if I didn't play my cards right, I would end up with public disgrace and that would break Dad's heart terribly. I hadn't caused any scandals recently and I would love to keep it that way.Technically though, this was his fault. If he hadn't seized my pocket money, I would have been able to pay Jordan his stupid meager amount and breathe easy. As long as he got enough cash to gamble with and buy his stupid drugs, he would be fine.Could
Camille's POVThe elevator pinged and Gav walked out stopping in his tracks when he saw me by my desk. He had a bouquet of flowers, another breed of roses and wait was that a box of chocolate or jewelry?"Camille?""There's no need to look so shocked," I mumbled, burying my face in the schedule I was drafting on my system."I'm not shocked," He guffawed, striding towards me. In a blink he stood before my desk. "I doubt I've ever seen you this early at the office before.""I come early," I grumbled, flashing him a quick smile and looking away."Wait,"Oh no. I had tried to act normal so he wouldn't notice. It was exactly why I had come so early. I knew Gav. He welcomed me with kisses or a raging boner every single time I arrived at work. If he had come earlier than I did, then h
Camille's POV"Just breathe in, Camille, okay?" Megan soothed. "Do you want to meet up?*That sounded like a good idea. I nodded, realized she couldn't see me then mumured a "Yeah, after work. ""Good, I'll see you."The call ended with a beep. The office grew quiet. A little too quiet. All I could think about was how I had snapped at Gav. And frankly, he deserved it. He was getting on my nerves. With all the questions and probing, I couldn't just take them anymore. He had to know that. The day went by in a breeze. I barely saw Gav except during a meeting and wow, he was quite the petty one. He did not speak a word to me all through. Just emailed his instructions and disappeared to God knows where.I met up with Megan at one of our favorite cafes."So spill. What happened?" She asked as so
