2. The interview

Third Person POV

Mike entered the glass door and went to the reception. A girl dressed in a white top and black pencil skirt was sitting checking something on her laptop.

Mike went to her desk, cleared his tone, and asked in a polite manner "Excuse me. I have a scheduled interview with Alandra today for the position of Frontend Developer."

The Receptionist looked at him from top to bottom and then looked at the laptop.

Looking into her laptop the receptionist asked "Can I have your name, please?"

Mike replied confidently "Michael Claus'

The Receptionist opened the outlook on the laptop and started looking at the calendar.

Probably she might be looking for Alandra's calendar for scheduled appointments. Mike thought.

The receptionist checked and then  said," Well I can see your interview been scheduled for 10:00 Am and I can see another conflicting meeting as well."

Mike a bit confused asked "Ok so what's that supposed to mean? Do I have to wait?"

The receptionist lifted her gaze from the laptop screen to Mike and said "well she has a conference meeting from 11 am onwards. So let me go and check with her."

"Sure"

Mike sat on the bench placed on the left side of the reception desk. There was a cabin beside him.

As he sat on the bench he heard some voice coming from the cabin. It was a male and a female voice. There were a man and a woman talking about some tense situation. From their voice, the girl sound sounds in her late twenties and a man in his late thirties.

Woman: But love don't you understand. I can't do it alone. I need you by my side.

Man: See I told you earlier that it's not possible. We cannot be together in life. I told you earlier that this is just a fling so don't expect anything from me apart from a good time.

Woman; I know and I was ok with it but now the situation is different. I need you.

Man: Well you should have taken care. I am sorry I can't do this. Just let me know if you need any financial help.

Woman: Everything is not just about money

The man sighs and said, "Get rid of it and don't call me."

Next, he heard the door getting opened and a man dressed in casual jeans and a sporty hoodie came out and made his way to the right side of the reception which leads to a passage with rooms and cabins at one side.

He saw the girl coming out of the cabin. Her face was red. She was wearing tight jeans and a skinny top. She has a height of 5 feet 9 inches.

She seemed like a model. Of course Its a media and event management company so they might have models working for them. Mike thought

Immersed in these thoughts he heard the voice of the receptionist.

"Hey, Michael you can go inside. It's the 1st cabin from the right. Miss Alandra is waiting for you."

"Thank you," He said. He stood up from the bench, sighed, and crossed his fingers, and moved towards the cabin.

He knocked on the door.

'"Come in" He heard a honeyed voice. He went inside and saw a woman in her late 40s dressed in a formal shirt dress standing beside the wide window pane with her legs entwined. Her back was facing Mike.

She asked him to sit on the chair placed in front of her desk.

Then she turned around and sat on the chair in front of him cross-legged.

"It's a beautiful day. Isn't it. She asked Mike.

Mike gently replied "Yes Ma'am. It's indeed a beautiful day."

She opened the CV placed on her table and glanced at it for a minute and kept it back at the table.

She turned to him and asked

"So You are the IT guy huh?"

Mike hesitated a bit and then replied politely  "Yes ma'am I am a front-end developer who works on the site customization and fixing issues on sites and apps."

 "Whatever. Do you know how to fix the bug if any video is not playing on the site?" Alandra asked straight to the point.

" Yes, mam. I can debug and fix....."

Alandra cut him in middle "Perfect... Can you also add a feature on the site where I can see the videos and promotion likes, dislikes, comments, and views?"

 "Yes, Ma'am. I can add the voting and public poll feature based on the framework....."

"Perfect you are hired." Alandra again told in between.

Mike was a bit shocked but to clear his doubt he asked "What? That's it? Is the interview over?" 

"Yes, the interview is over..I have your Cv so that I do not want to go in tell me something about yourself formalities. You are hired." Alandra replied casually

She called someone from the office phone

"Hey, Pam. I have an IT guy here. Just complete his joining formalities and release his offer letter. Come to my cabin now."

Mike shyly asked "Mam regarding the salary package? "

 "Yes. It will be a 6 digit salary a month. I hope that's ok with you." Alandra asked glaring at him.

Ok? It's freaking much more than my expectation. I never imagine getting this kind of package any time soon. Mike thought

"Yes, Ma'am that fine."

"Don't Ma'am me. It's Alandra for you."

"Thank you Alandra."

Meanwhile, HR knocked on the door. Alandra asked her to come inside the cabin.

Alandra looked at her and said "Hey Pam. Just take care of this guy's offer letter and joining. I want him to be onboarded from tomorrow. "

"Tomorrow? " Mike asked a bit confused.

" Yes. We do not have weeks to waste" Alandra replied coldly.

Pam looked at Alandra and said "Yes Alandra. I will get all the formalities done in no time." 

Pam looked at Mike and asked him to follow her.

Mike thanked Alandra and came out of the office

Pam looked at Mike and said, "Come with me to the Cabin."

Mike went with Pam to the HR department cabin. She asked for a few documents from him for verification and took scanned copies of it. She then asked for a passport size photo. Mike handed her the photo.

She created a bunch of documents along with a nondisclosure agreement and contract.

"What is this contract?" Mike asked

Pam said " It's an agreement stating you cannot leave the company before 2 years. In case you leave it before the company is allowed to take legal actions against you."

Who will want to leave such a company giving you a fat salary? Mike thought.

Mike instantly signed the document and handed it over to her. In an hour he collected the offer letter, ID card, and Swipe card.

"Good. Be here tomorrow at 10 am." Pam said.

Mike thanked her and came out of the cabin.

Yay. So Mike has grabbed his dream job. 6digit salary, working with eye candies and hot shot models. Exciting. isn't it?
