Dragons. Where do I start? They weren't here first. The very first beings on Rolistra were Demons, actually. Dragons immigrated to the planet from another planet. Running away from some disaster. The Demons let the Dragons stay in the North, and everything was relatively peaceful.

Centuries later, humans, dwarves, and elves showed up. The humans attacked the demons, stole the land, and put up fences driving them to the west. The Elves took the east, and the dwarves went to North.

The Dragons didn't help the Demons because they were already a small amount and they didn't want to lose any more fledglings. They needed to stay hidden, and they did. In the North, there are rumors of a Dragon Utopia. A city in the clouds where Dragons live in peace. Not every Dragon lives there. Many didn't like the cold and moved to other regions. Such as th

Guvis's yellow wings sent large gusts of winds into Whitrock. Knocking the thatch off the roofs of the buildings. Blowing shut windows and knocking little boys who should be inside to the floor. The large yellow dragon hung in the air, circling Whitrock looking for his victim. He set a couple of barns on fire which kept most of the guards busy. He was looking for someone. He was looking for me.I strode out through the guild and out of the building. I made my way down the street to the front gates where I had been escorted before by those three adventurers. I was a man with a plan, and even though I didn't look like those fabulous heroes. I definitely strode in like one.I took a glance at Guvis's stats. He a nice one hundred and ten. According to Bieko and Kali. It was pretty low for

The crowd grew louder as they cheered and rallied to their new hero. "Dragon Slayer," they roared. Unlike typical parades, there were no horses or chariots.Kali and I marched down the main road with Royal Shi on each side of us. They wanted to see what kind of man I was. I waved at them, and they cheered. I drew my blade, and lighting shot up into the sky. The crowd's energy skyrocketed—the hype was real. I wondered if this is how those singers felt when they performed at concerts. Everyone dancing in the middle of your palm. They turn on you with one wrong move, but as long as you nudge gently, they will follow you.A boy was shoved out of the crowd and in our way. The royal Shi ready to march all over him. They escorted us from Whitrock to the Captial. Kaminarimon, the thunder gate.

The Royal Chamber was relatively small compared to the ballroom. Only the size of a small house. Callum the Seventh and his Empress sat in the back. A dais elevates their throne. Each prince sat on the left side of the throne while the princesses sat on the right. The room was decked out with royal silk and golden ornaments. The floor was the same as the ballroom, polished marble. Now let's get to the players. The First Prince is quite the handsome fellow. A balanced built man with his hair cut short. His most dominating feature would be the electric blue eyes of his. His clothes had more regalia than the other princes and princesses. Two swords hung from his belt and he was the only one in the whole room that wore gloves. Elijah Darcey. The First Princess matched the first prince, exc

The weather in Chadel is usually always nice. Bright blue skies with clouds and a warm breeze. Winter is usually short and summer is long. I love this country. My office is held in the highest tower of the Chadel Royal Academy. When I first came here seven years ago, I was young, only nineteen. Matilda and I were the oldest when it came to the students of the Academy. Being older, we had a better focus, and it didn't take long for us to get into the senior classes. I told Mattie that I would have an office in the tallest tower one day.It had been a long journey. Working as Adventurers and slaving away at monsters and quests. Mattie was not an easy person to work with, far too emotional and righteous. She wanted to help every single person that needed help. She has always wanted to be a hero. She was the only one that I knew I could tru

The Emperor's hall was always a treat. Someday I would love to live here. Ben rushed me through the typical halls and straight to the throne room. I wasn't too happy with being pushed around, but it seemed urgent. He opened the throne room doors. My eyes were drawn to the dragon head in the room. A yellow dragon which meant that it was a young dragon only a couple of hundred years old. The older they get, the darker and mature the color becomes."Fiona," said Gerard. He seemed on edge. "Come over here."I walked over to him, there were two people by the dragon's head, but I could care less about them. I was here for the Emperor. I glanced over to the throne and noticed it was empty. All of the Princes and Princess except for one was here. Their eyes on me.

I walked out of the throne room with one victory under my belt. We left the dragon head in the room. Callum wanted it. A gift of our newfound friendship.Callum had given me Jonathan's identification tag for the Royal Battles. I was now a temporary Prince in this fight. I couldn't do the same thing as the Princes and Princesses, but it was proof that a commoner was now in the runnings. This didn't mean that the nobles would treat me with any respect. In their eyes, they probably wanted me to beg for their support. I didn't need them."Quite the show," said Kali. "Did you see Tybalt's face when we left? He was furious.""I bet.""What's wrong?""James," said Fiona rushing up behind me. "Are you really James?" I turned around to face my sister. The moment she showed up in court, I held everything back from removing her head from her body. Even now, I imagined how it would feel to see the same twisted face of grief that I had on her face."Yes,

"Underbelly," I said. The word caught the attention of Calvin and Freddie. It was a word traveling around in the last days of my second life (this life could be considered my third). "For a guy out of town," said Freddie. "You seem to know more than you let on." I grinned. I didn't know what the word meant, and being unable to know the weight of that word placed me in an ocean on driftwood. Power is great, but social communication is a different type of battle. Life is easy to snuff out. A single swipe of the sword or the perfect hit with a fist can end an opponent. It doesn't open doors. Violence smashes through them until you hit a wall. Imagine a house. You have two choices; you can break, or you ask the owner to let you in. If you break in, the house is yours, but unlocking the other doors can be tricky. If you ask the owner, bec

The Armoury really was on fire. The side of the two-story building was burning bright orange and red in the night. It lit up the other wooden houses and shops. About a dozen workers were trying their best to put out the fire. At the same time, the other dozen were fending off black decked Shi.There were about five of them. Each sporting a sword in one hand and a shield. Their armor was black but still looking like the typical Shi design. The workers didn't stand a chance in the face of special trained soldiers. It was a blood bath with the workers being cut down without a care. Their blood filled the streets, not draining into the sewage because, well, the Capital didn't have one. It wasn't invented yet.I jumped in between the two survivors of twelve. Shadiàn drawn."Help put out the

Samuel Belmont, Vanessa Mast, Jacob Decker, and Lorcan Ravenswood. These are the four heads that rule Chadel under Callum the seventh. Each family holds a considerable amount of power. One single decision from them can make the simple lives of the commoners a living hell (not that it's already a living hell, just remember you can always fall even further down). Each team of the Underbelly was in charge of taking on each family, with Team Delta being regulated to the Ravenswood family. They were in charge of spreading the religion of Drykena throughout Chadel and the rest of Rolrista. At first, I thought this was bad news, but then I realized this could be a blessing in disguise. There wasn't any incentive to go after the Ravenswood family because many of the rebels followed the religion. We were backups for Team Alpha, Beta, and Charlie. We were told that we would assist them on mission

Documents. Everywhere I look, only documents. A papery grave as sharp as any blade or sword. I had always had a problem being organized, even when I was a teacher at the Chadel Royal Academy. It had almost cost me my job a couple of times. Lucky for me, I had an eager little student. She wasn't really little, but she worked hard to make a name for herself. It was a... peaceful time at the academy—past tense. Everything went to shit when Julius Darcey showed up. I don't know what a prince or princess does every day. I would imagine it would be learning royal customs and how to manage the country—wishful thinking on my part. Julius is a prodigy in the magic department, taking after Callum the Third, once called The Magic God. A being referred to as the closest person to the first Callum's power. I never lived through such a time and can't fathom what kind of power Callum the First held, b

Katar, Ben, and Chris were the last three members added to the group (Katar was the elf). Jofrorli was still made captain even though he was the only one out of the eight that had the hardest time trying to learn [Shadow Step]. I was sure it was due to laziness on Moses, who didn't want to correct the mistake of making Jofrorli captain. Plus, the dwarf seemed quite happy being in charge. Team Delta was the name of the team. We were the fourth and last group to be created. Our purpose was a bit of an enigma. I couldn't wrap my head around us being just assassins. There was no way the nobles of Chadel would just let this ragtag team of adventurers run rampant in the streets. I didn't know how powerful the Nobles were but there was no way they were weak enough to be shaken by us. I started to regret ignoring the inner workings of the Captial. All of my information now came from Kali and wh

"You have five hours to get the basics of this skill down," said Moses. Thirty -five of us stood before him. Each of us well-rested and ready to start the second test. I noticed that everyone had one of the knock off masks. Either it was on their face or hanging to the side. It was a weird sight to see because it felt like whoever was in charge of the Underbelly was a fan of mine. I don't remember making fans when I was traveling in Chadel. I only remember making enemies. "Now watch carefully. I will only show it once."Moses took in a deep breath, making sure his body was ready for the task. He put his foot forward and took another step. His body slowly started to dissipate into the air, like smoke rising from a candle, disappearing into the atmosphere. It started from his head till it was gone. I felt that he was taking his time on purpose for us to deduce what he was doing. A little a

Moses gave each team a room. It wasn't in the castle because there wasn't any room in the castle. The castle floors had been occupied with different departments and sub-departments. The tour through the castle reminded me of an American military base. Anything that wasn't a part of the main goal was kept in the barracks, and barracks were kept outside the castle.Logistics department, strategic department, magic department, espionage department, blacksmith and Armoury department, food department, shelter department, and registration department. Everything was organized with nothing left unturned. The whole area wasn't that wide but told a very good secret. Kaminarimon was built on the remains of New Kaminarimon. Kali immediately recognized where we were before anyone else. It was like she was visiting an old hometown of hers. After the tour, I wanted to rest, take a load off

I only remember him being quite charming in a pitiful way. He was blond and wore a black mask; personally, I thought it should have been white. It would have suited his blond hair. His clothes weren't any better. A black bearskin cloak and leather clothes. It was cheaper than the burlaps and cotton. He was very awkward around women, and his humor wasn't any better. It felt like he was trying too much.He only asked for a mead and a simple meal. He had money but wasn't loaded. His hands were rough from practicing with the sword. He would even spar sometimes with the local guards.I don't know when I started to like him, but he stayed in our little town a bit longer than he expected. I remember old Ravod telling us not to hang around him. There was something about his mask that Ravod didn't like. "Anyone that wore a mask like that was up to no good." I didn't accept that. I be

Just one little scare and they all become savages." He peeked over at me and saw that I was not listening to him. I was making sure that Robert was okay. He wasn't a seasoned warrior like us and was still trying to catch his breath. "Ya know it's rude to ignore someone you know.""T-thank you," said Robert. He was looking a bit better now. [Mirror Eyes] has one gaping flaw. If it's directed at more than one person, it can be detrimental to the user. When I was fighting the five covert Shi, my body felt like splitting apart. Even after the fight, I noticed that some of my muscles had ripped through the skin. The brain had been given far too much information and couldn't decide which direction I needed to go in, so it opted out and told my body to go in all directions. With [Mental Resistance], I reduced that burden and tried to block my body from doing unnecessary actions. Meaning I had to use this skill wisely, not just for every fight that comes my way. I am not hoarding skills anymore; I'm building a foundation for myself."I should look for other elemental skills," I said, glancing around at the forty-eight other participants in my circle. "Welcome, scum," said a man in shorts and a blue polo shirt. The man wore a black hat with the letters HTH on it. A whistle hung around his neck. There was a scar that started from the back of his head and down his spine. He had a clipboard in one hand and a pencil in the other.A group of teenage boys stood and sat before them. Most of them riddled with the dreaded acne. The smell isn't great either. Most of the boys are lacking in hygiene. Their hair was matted and greasy. There are a couple of exceptions like me. "You may call me Coach S. Baseball is a military sport. It builds muscle and builds teamwork. When you are in this room, you are no longer friends or enemies. You are equals.
