Chapter 9:
"Good morning ladies!" Leo greeted and Layla narrowed her eyes at him.
She was still very unhappy about her situation and the smallest of things pissed her off.
"There is nothing good about the morning! I don’t think I can cope in this place with the way you all behave!" She cried out as she walked towards him. She needed someone to vent her anger on.
“This is Leo, he is going to be your assistant,” Danah said with a short smile.
Leo pulled the car's door open and gestured for her to move in instead. She hissed but did as she was instructed. He went in after her and they settled in the back seat while Danah sat with the driver at the front seat of the SUV.
Layla didn't see the need of having an assistant, everything looked weird.
"So?" Layla started as the car moved. Was he just going to ignore her like his masters did?
Leo let out air from his mouth and turned to her. "Layla, we will do everything possible to make sure you are comfortable. We have orders to make you feel at home for as long you are with us." He added.
“Two months is a very long time here, this whole thing is strange to me. How can you use my vulnerability as leverage? I am yet to know why they both needed to pay for a woman to be their fiancee. Is there something I need to know that I am not aware of?” she cried out.
Leo was silent, he wasn’t permitted to speak beyond what he had just said. His duties were just to follow orders. He was among the least in the pack. The omega and he just had to strictly followed orders.
He cleared his throat after a long silence, “everything you need to know is in the contract you signed, you can refer to it if something is bothering you,” he politely said
“Are you for real? I thought I was told you are supposed to be my assistant. If you can’t explain this to me in plain language then I don’t need to have you around,” she said out of frustration.
“I am sorry if I am perceived as being irresponsible, I work based on order,” he said in a cool turn.
Despite how frustrated Layla looked he was so calm in his response, and this only got Layla angry.
"How can I stay with men I know nothing about for two months?" She cried out. "I am sharing a bed with one of them already! As if that isn’t enough, I am expected to sleep naked in the same room with a man I know nothing about, make it make sense to me, are you into adult movies, is there anything you are using this to do?"
“I am sorry I wish I can explain it to you but please refer to the contract…” Leo replied with his cheeks tinted in embarrassment.
“Enough of this contract thing. Is this some kind of modern sex slavery? I need some answers!"
"Listen, I understand your worry. But I just can't tell you anything beyond what I was told. Now let's talk about your hair," he said changing the topic.
Layla absent-mindedly ran her fingers into her hair as she glared at Leo, "What about my hair?"
"I think we should give you a new look," Leo replied.
Layla twisted a strand of her hair and turned her eyes to the window. She knew she needed a haircut. She just didn't have the time or the luxury to do it. But now that the opportunity presented itself, she could at least enjoy it.
"I know it must be hard given your background. But I will say one thing..." Leo started and Layla turned to look at him. "Enjoy yourself. Enjoy the luxury and the fancy little things you can get. It is your time to shine," he stated with a small smile.
She suddenly felt emotional as his speech reminded her of Fey. If she knew of this plan, she would pull the sky to the ground with her antics. She would never accept it. Yet, here she was doing it anyway.
Layla nodded and turned back to the window to hide her tears. There was some truth in what Leo had said and she would have to take full use of it.
"Can my friend at least come visiting?" She suddenly asked.
Leo was quiet for a few seconds before he replied, "You know you are not supposed to make this arrangement public right?"
"Of course, I know. I just want to be able to speak to Fey. Having to deal with this alone is suffocating me," Layla said turning to him.
He saw the pain in her eyes and he understood. "I will get back to you on that."
"We are here!" Danah announced as the vehicle rolled into the parking space.
They had arrived at the mall.
The three of them walked inside and started checking out the shops and boutiques.
Layla couldn't even select as she was overwhelmed with all the beautiful dresses. Danah did all the pickings for her.
Leo also helped select a good phone for her and when they were done, they had so many bags that they had to call the driver to come help carry some of the boxes to the car.
When they got back to the house, Layla let Danah worry about arrangements as she slipped into bed and slept off. The stress she had gone through was enough to break her bones.
Once again, she saw the masked man in her dreams. He joined her on the bed and like the first night, he slipped his hands into her breasts and started to slowly massage them. Layla arched her back as the sweet feeling flowed through her —a sweet and torturous reminder of the life she now lived.
"Hmm," she moaned out loud as he pinched her nipples hard.
Next, her dress was torn off her body and he placed his mouth on her hardened nipples and started to suck and lick them.
"Hmm," she moaned again enjoying every action administered to her.
"Will you shut up!"
A deep voice brought her out of her dreams and she was shocked to find Lucius glaring at her from the edge of the bed. She had her hands on her nipples and her eyes opened wide in shock.
"Take your hands off your nipples!" He growled in a husky voice and Layla's heart flew out of her body.
Shit!
Chapter 10:Lucius couldn't but imagine the kind of girl Layla was; just last night she was begging to be spared yet here she was initiating the same thing ran from.He hoped she was truly the virgin she claimed to be because her character didn't match her claim at all. What kind of a lady moaned so loudly beside a man and still claimed to be a virgin? In all ramifications, she must definitely be a good actress. But she couldn't hide forever; her days were numbered sooner or later the truth would be revealed. He couldn't deny her moans had turned him on; she was too beautiful to ignore. If she wasn't a virgin, they could only be disappointed but she couldn't be let go. Besides, it was too rare to find a beautiful woman like her as a virgin. He could still remember the conversation he had with his brother after breakfast.“Lucius you are taking this too far. You need to let her stay with her clothes on. Maybe even let her have her room," Darius said.Lucius scoffed and continued walki
Chapter 11:Layla felt her heart skip to her throat as his dark eyes stared at her form on the bed.Lucius wanted to rip off the blanket she was using to cover her body so perfectly and show her exactly his sexual identification but at the last moment, his brother's words came to him and he controlled himself."You should get some sleep," he said to the curious woman. He got on the bed and turned his back to her.Layla was not satisfied with his response but she knew better than to make a fuss about it. She sealed her lips and let her eyes roam over his naked back, soon the contours, lured her to sleep. She hoped she wouldn't have one of her naughty dreams so as not to cause problems for herself and thankfully her sleep was peaceful until the soft sound of the door closing pulled her out of sleep. She blinked with raised brows as she realized Lucius was sneaking out.She looked at the time on the bedside clock and saw that it was exactly 11:45 p.m. She couldn't help but ponder where h
Chapter 12:"Okay... You may do what you want then," Layla waved, motioning to Beatrice to step forward.Layla just stood there and let Beatrice dress her up, when she was done with that, she went on to fix her hair and makeup. The rich did know how to get value for their money, she couldn't believe she was the one in the mirror. She saw the benefit of having someone dress her because she appeared to be a completely different person.Soon, Layla started wondering where she was going for them to go through this much trouble dressing. It wasn't her wedding, yet they had taken the trouble to employ someone to fix her up."It's done ma'am," Beatrice said and Layla smiled at her."Thank you," she whispered as she cautiously got out of the chair and moved out of the room.Darius and Lucius, who were waiting downstairs, were stunned when they saw Layla. The Layla they were meeting that morning was perfect; she was always beautiful but this one looked extravagantly adorable. A perfect match
Chapter 13:Layla followed Danah into what was essentially a conference room and not the living room as they had made it seem. The room she was looking at was not a living room at all. It was more like a hall with a sitting area. She couldn't help but become curious once again about the source of their wealth. The building's construction of their house alone would be extremely expensive. The interior was excellent, orderly, and spotless. Everything screamed money. When the brothers noticed her approaching, Lucius and Darius quickly adjusted their positions and stopped talking.Lucius remarked, "Oh, and there you are," as soon as he saw her enter. He observed Layla take her seat and a grin covered his face. He could almost feel the questions she had for them and somehow, this excited him."I understand you want to speak with us. You are welcome to ask any question that is on your mind now that we are in front of you," he said, his grin ever present.Layla adjusted herself on the seat a
Chapter 14:Laylah didn't seem to comprehend why her request was granted. Darius occasionally showed kindness and consideration, but when it came to Lucius, he had a heart of stone. At the time, in Darius' opinion, that was the appropriate move to make. The least they could do for her at this time was to make her feel at ease and refrain from being aggressive because he knew she had many questions and needed answers.Layla was still holding the phone and was in disbelief that her request had been granted. What may have triggered a sudden shift in their opinion? Her eyes fell on the device in her hands and she let out a soft gasp. Who on earth buys a customized gold mobile phone for a random female? Her name was written on the back. She could spend hours drooling over it but she knew they were probably timing her.So, quickly, she snapped out of her daze and switched to her contacts. Then she found Fey's number and dialed right away. Fey picked almost immediately."Hello bestie, t
Chapter 15:Even though Lucius was seated in a meeting, his thoughts were elsewhere. He was thinking back to the first time he had seen Layla's naked body; it was a night he would always remember. He was unable to explain why he was so drawn to her or why he couldn't stop thinking about that particular incident. It may have been because it was his first night with the woman he had been waiting for his entire life.Unlike his brother, he never found any woman attractive until Layla. He had patiently waited for their ideal mate, which accounts for why he was attracted to her the first time they met.He couldn't ignore the fact that Layla was a different kind of girl, though, as he sat in the conference unaware of his surroundings. His heart was longing for her presence, and he couldn't wait to finish the day's activities. He couldn't wait to be with her since he was anticipating the drama she would pull.He used to be a diligent worker who focused solely on his work, but now his atte
Chapter 16:"I am so... Sorry," Layla stuttered as she hurriedly packed up the props she had put up for her challenge. Her heart was thumping fast in her chest. Without being told, she knew she was in trouble. They would definitely take back the phone and probably ground her to never step out of the room again.Lucius had a wicked grin on his face. Before he left the office, he had known that Layla was surely going to present him with some drama and he wasn't disappointed at all. With one hand in his pocket, he walked cautiously in her direction."So you dance..." He said as he began to circle her like a predator."Y—yes, I do," Layla stuttered."That wasn't a question; it was just an expression." He smiled sarcastically and said, "What social media platform was that?"The question sounded like he was surely going to make her punishment painful. She turned to Darius for help but he just crossed his hands and watched the show between his brother and her without saying anything."I'm te
Chapter 17:She was the last person Lucius expected to see in the bathroom with him and naked at that.Lucius froze as his eyes hungrily roamed over her nakedness.Darius was correct; she couldn't maintain her act for very long. Her hair, ridiculously toned body, smooth legs, stunning pair of large round boobs with beautiful pink areolas, and small nipples, the last of which was adorned with a sexy strip of shaved golden brown hair just above it, all caught his admiring attention. It was like a different being had gotten into her. She completely lost control over herself. Maybe it was those silly blog posts she read but she was consumed with desire. Her legs developed a mind of its own and she started to move in his direction with a countenance that lacked any expression. Lucius saw the color on her nipples change into a darker shade of pink and that they were erect. She was stunning. He could now make out the front of her pussy and her nice, flat stomach. Layla continued approachi
Chapter 252:The sun painted the sky with hues of orange and pink as Layla, Darius, Lucius, Diane —her mother— and their energetic quadruplets spread out a vibrant picnic blanket on the lush green grass years after the incidence that almost took her life. The scent of blooming flowers and the distant sound of a babbling brook created a tranquil ambiance around them. The family had decided to take a break from the hustle and bustle of their eventful lives, choosing to immerse themselves in the serenity of nature a few months after everything that happened to them.Layla watched with a smile as the children, a whirlwind of laughter and energy, chased butterflies and played tag. Darius was setting up a portable grill, the scent of sizzling barbecue already wafting through the air."You know they pretty much look like you when you were at their age,” Diane said, which made Layla come out of her mind and smiled.“Do they? They are draining the life out of me with their stubbornness,” Lay
Chapter 251:The moon cast an eerie glow over the ancient clearing where the Council of Wolves convened. Tall trees surrounded the clearing, their branches intertwining to create a natural canopy that shielded the area from prying eyes. It was where the Council held their meetings any time a member committed an offense.A hushed silence settled over the assembly as Rosa and Vanessa were escorted to the center, where a circle of powerful wolves awaited them.Magnus, from his seated position, fixed his penetrating gaze on the two culprits. "Rosa and Vanessa," he growled, his voice echoing through the clearing. "You stand accused of heinous crimes against the pack. Your actions have sown discord, mistrust, and fear among us. Explain yourselves."Rosa stepped forward with defiance in her eyes. "It was never my intention to cause any disharmony in the pack. All I have ever wanted was the unity of this pack. I never knew it would end up this way. It was all for the greater cause," she
Chapter 250:The café was bathed in the soft glow of afternoon sunlight as Leo walked in, searching for Dane. She practically denied him access to her house after everything he had done, this was the last time to make things right with her. He spotted her sitting at a corner table, engrossed in a book. Determination set in, he approached her, ready to confront the tension that had lingered between them.Leo cleared his throat. "Dane, can we talk please?"Dane looked up, her eyes narrowing with a mixture of surprise and skepticism. "What do you want, Leo? There is nothing to talk about?" she stated and continued readingLeo took a deep breath, his gaze steady. "I want to apologize. I messed up, and I want to make things right. Sincerely I am sorry for everything I did, I should have done better."Dane scoffed, a defensive wall evident in her posture. "Apologize? Is that supposed to make everything okay? So you expect me to receive you with an open arm."Leo sat down across from her,
Chapter 249:The minutes stretched into an eternity as Lucius and Darius waited in the hushed anticipation of the hospital reception. The swinging doors leading to the theater remained steadfastly closed, concealing the fate of Layla and their unborn children. Finally, the doctor emerged, his expression somber. Lucius and Darius shot to their feet, their eyes locking onto the doctor as a silent plea for information hung in the air.The doctor approached, his gaze heavy with a sadness that echoed through the room. Lucius's heart sank, and Darius's grip tightened on the edge of the chair. They urged the doctor to speak, their words a symphony of anxiety."Please, tell us. How is Layla? How are the babies? Please say something, are they fine?" Lucius implored, his voice strained. The doctor took a deep breath, the weight of the news evident in his eyes. "I'm sorry. Layla experienced complications during the surgery. We couldn't save the baby, it had to be between her or the baby."A h
Chapter 248:The hospital reception was a canvas of subdued hues, the gentle hum of conversation and the distant shuffle of footsteps creating an ambience of anticipation. Lucius, perched on the edge of an uncomfortable chair, checked his watch for what felt like the hundredth time. The sterile white walls seemed to close in as minutes stretched into an agonizing eternity.Lucius was oblivious to his environment, not minding the activity going on in the hospital. The goal was Layla, nothing must happen to her. It was the second time she was facing this kind of situation and it was irresponsible on his own side. How could he not protect their supposed Luna as an Alpha that he was?Lucius couldn't shake the knot of worry in his stomach as he waited for any news about Layla. The theater doors loomed before him, a barrier between him and the answers he desperately sought. He stood, pacing the small waiting area, glancing at the doors every few steps as if expecting them to swing open wi
Chapter 247:Lucius felt a cold shiver run down his spine as he burst through the door, closely followed by Darius and Leo. Layla lay unconscious on the floor, her usually vibrant eyes now closed. Panic gripped Lucius's chest."Darius, something's not right. We need to get help," Lucius urged, rushing to Layla's side.Darius swiftly pulled out his phone and dialed the emergency number, his voice urgent as he described Layla's condition to the operator. Meanwhile, Leo crouched down next to Layla, gently trying to rouse her."Layla, come on. Wake up," Leo muttered, his voice filled with concern.“I should have known from the start,” Darius spat angrily.“What happened?” Lucius asked turning to Mary while attending to Layla at the same time.“I don’t know I just saw her lying there, I swear I don’t know,” Mary stated in fear.“Why the hell are they taking so much time?” Lucius yelled at Darius, ignoring Mary, “Can you call them again?” he urged.“I am trying to..." Darius replied but h
Chapter 246:Leo paced back and forth in his quarters, his mind a whirlwind of conflicting thoughts. The weight of the discovery in Dane's wardrobe pressed heavily on his shoulders, and he couldn't shake the unease that gnawed at him. He glanced at the folded letter in his hand, the evidence that threatened to unravel the fragile peace within the pack.As he mulled over his options, he couldn't escape the turmoil within. The pack had been through enough, especially Layla. She didn't need another layer of deception and manipulation. Leo clenched his fists, the frustration building within him.Eventually, he made a decision. He needed to tell Darius that Dane was the traitor, he wasn’t going to let emotions get the best out of him.But it pained him that Dane wasn’t the person she claimed she was.Leo stormed towards Darius's office, his determined strides echoing in the quiet hallway. He knocked briskly on the door, and Darius looked up from his desk, a questioning gaze in his eyes
Chapter 245:The room was cast in a soft glow as Leo surfs through Dane's wardrobe, a single purpose guiding his search. He needed his credit card, but as he moved the clothes aside, his fingers brushed against a stack of letters. Curiosity piqued...He pulled them out, his eyes narrowing as he recognized the distinct handwriting that mirrored the ominous letters from Jake.He took a look at the letter once again if it was a dream but it wasn't.It was the letter from Jake with the same content and handwriting.Dane walked into the room, catching Leo off guard. He held up the letters, his voice steady but laced with suspicion. "What's the deal with these, Dane? They look a lot like the letters we've been getting from Jake."Dane's eyes widened, and she stuttered, "Leo, what are you doing going through my things?"Ignoring her defection. Leo pressed on. "Answer the question. Why do you have letters that mirror the ones from Jake? I need you to start talking now?""What letter?" Sh
Chapter 244:Layla and Rosa sat in the living room. The air filled with the warmth of shared secrets and laughter. They were surrounded by the familiar comfort of their home, a safe haven from the challenges that awaited them beyond its walls. The twins had always been a source of support, and today was no different.Rosa glanced at Layla, etching her features. "You sure you're okay, Layla? You've been coughing a lot lately. Maybe you should see a doctor. This pregnancy is very taking a toll on you.”Layla waved off the suggestion with a weak smile. "It's just a cold, Rosa, nothing to worry about. Besides, we have more pressing matters to discuss."Rosa leaned forward, her curiosity piqued. "The letters, right? But your health should be your greatest priority now. Have you figured out who might be behind the letters?" she asked wanting to know the recent information concerning the situation.Layla sighed, her eyes reflecting a mix of frustration and fatigue. "Not yet. It's like ch
