ROSALINE'S POV

This wasn't time to pretend selective amnesia. I remembered vividly the events that lead me to the pack hospital. The steady rhythm of the IV drop, the beeping of the heart monitor and the smell of anaesthetic and disinfectant added to my throbbing headache and churning stomach.

I stood up from the bed and it was almost impossible to guide my steps.

"Shit, this dizziness!!!"

The door opened and my attending nurse came in.

"You've regained consciousness miss Rosaline. How are you feeling," her face beaming with smiles.

"How long have I been out," I interjected.

"Uhm..."

"If I am to be precise, you were out for a day and half," she replied.

I rolled my eyes.

"Hope you are feeling better," she asked once again which I found annoying.

"You should know from my looks that I am far from being okay."

"Alright. So I suggest you take more rest," the nurse replied.

"I beg to differ. I might as well get worse or catch some nosocomial infection if I stay a t

GODFATHER'S POV "Nurse Maude, why would you carry out such expedition on Oceanwolf pack without anyone's consent?" She rolled her eyes. Really? I was seething with my barely contained rage. I don't take delight to being summoned by alpha Gritus without prior knowledge of Maude's actions. With her wrinkled middle aged face, she stood her ground, unwilling to answer me. "I believe I am talking to you Nurse Maude. Answer the god-damned question," I retorted almost losing my cool. "I don't have to answer to you. Do I ??" she replied rudely. "Bitch..." A clear of the throat interrupted me. There stood Braco, giving us both a questioning look. "Alpha Gritus is ready and waiting for you both in the grand hall." Beads of sweat broke on my forehead as we made way to the grand hall. There sat alpha Gritus in his usual seat, his look expressionless. "I remember telling you all to take a pause on everything to re-strategize. Now which one of you attacked Oceanwolf pack wi

ALPHA KONAN'S POV "You haven't fallen in love with Madeline, have you?" Rosaline asked with a questioning look on her face. My gaze snapped to Rosaline. "What is the reason you ask this question Rosaline?" "There's every reason for me to ask, Rosaline replied without missing a beat. Look at our pack borders. Alpha Novare indirectly threatens us each passing hour to withdraw their troops. We aren't too good with security right now. Letting emotions cloud your judgement could be disastrous." "For the umpteenth time Rosaline, Madeline is a servant who carelessly lost my baby. Nothing more." Rosaline arched her eyebrows. "You are strongly in denial alpha Konan. It is obvious to me that Madeline has ignited a fire in you and you are gradually growing fond of the fire. This isn't just about Crescent pack or her deeds. You definitely care for her." I let out a frustrated sigh. "Even if I do, it doesn't change what's she's done. She still broke the rules." "And yet, here we

MADELINE’S POV I was summoned to Alpha Konan's study. This time, I was unsure of what to expect. My heart pounded in my chest as I walked down the corridor leading to his imposing door. The air around me felt heavier with each step, and my palms were clammy with unease. The heavy door creaked open as I pushed it, revealing the grand study. Alpha Konan sat behind his imposing desk, his posture rigid and his expression unreadable, as usual. “Which do you want to hear first, Madeline? The good news or the bad news?” His voice, calm yet cutting, carrying an undertone of menace. I hesitated, caught off guard. Why was I the one forced to choose? Couldn’t he start with whichever he deemed fit? “Madeline,” he called again, his tone softer yet tinged with impatience. His penetrating gaze locked onto mine. “Which do you wish to hear—the good news or the bad news?” “The good news, Alpha Konan,” I replied cautiously, my voice barely above a whisper. A flicker of amusement danced in his eyes

MADELINE'S POVThe private session with alpha Novare wasn't necessary. He used it as a way to feel alpha Konan's interest in me. Did it work? Yes it did.Alpha Novare escorted me out to the door of his room and there stood alpha Konan standing at the far end of the hall. Alpha Novare's face was plastered with a smug grin and he whispered to my ears."Your alpha is here. Keeping alpha Konan on his tippy toes has never felt so good."He closed the door behind me and I walked towards where the predator was standing, ready to devour."Follow me," he demanded.I followed him obediently to his study. He stood for a while backing me, his hands on his waist—akimbo. A little while later, he turned to me, his eyes, narrowed and bloodshot. The look in his eyes was one I hadn't seen in my entire life."Did he touch you," alpha Konan asked straight to the point.Goosebumps crawled on my skin."No he didn't," I replied softly."No he didn't," he questioned. His eyes blazed with fury that threatened

ROSALINE'S POV "Ohh shit!!!" I stumbled and fell on a hard rock body. I looked up to see who I just fell on, and it was Gabriel. "I bet you saw me coming," I replied. He scoffed. "And I bet you didn't realize that there was an obstacle on your path which made you stumble. I have been standing right here all the while. You were the one who hit me. An apology would suffice," he said I huffed. "Stalking me?" I asked. "You wish, don't you?" he replied sarcastically. "Then why do you always seem to be in my way," I questioned. "The last I check, your name wasn't imprinted on any passage way here," he answered with a light grin on his face. I knew this question and answer would continue for eternity. Gabriel had such time but I had no such time for that because I needed to see alpha Konan urgently. I ignored him and tried to make my way when Gabriel fully stopped me in my tracks. "Beta dear, I sneered. I would really appreciate if you would clear the way. I have somew

ALPHA KONAN'S POV Sleep was far from me. Madeline betrayed me, I muttered continuously, unconsciously. I buried myself with work. Morning was here and it was time for alpha Novare and his people to take their leave. I had to see them off because it was only customary I did so. Madeline yet wasn't in sight. She appeared from the other end of the mansion. My eyes was fixed on her as she made her way to join alpha Novare and the others. Her eyes was fixed on everything except me. She clearly avoided my gaze.Alpha Novare noticed and whispered to me."Tone your stare a little bit Konan. You could burn her with those laser eyes of yours."I scoffed."Your whore will be back like she never left. Chill out Konan, you won!!!" he grinned.I gritted my teeth at the sound of the word whore coming from his mouth. I knew he was indirectly trying to provoke me.I never moved my eyes from Madeline. MADELINE'S POV I was awoken with a rough tap on the shoulder. I jolted up in surprise, my vision blurry at least. I rubbed my eyes continuously, so it could get accustomed to the dim light and see who my company was. When my eyes cleared, I looked up and I was blessed with a lanky figure towering above my huddled frame. She was a middle aged woman with a horse whip placed on her shoulder, her face was scrunched totally making her very mysterious and her demeanor giving a no nonsense vibe. Whoever she was, I don't know. I just knew I had to sit up right. "You spent your night here," she asked. "Yes ma'am," I replied very softly. "Up stand!!! I will show you to your room. You are who again?" "I am Madeline, from Oceanwolf pack. I arrived here last night." "Ohh, the servant girl with the complicated relationship with the alpha of Oceanwolf pack?" I bopped my head softly in agreement. She sighed. "That's alright. I apologize for the type of sloppy welcome you receive

It was a long walk from the pack mansion to the training field. It bustled with energy as the warrior wolves engaged in various fitness activities. At one end, able bodied warrior wolves, their body well shaped and sultry to die for ran laps across the jogging track, the thumping of their feet creating a steady beat. He led me to the other end of the field dominated with female warrior wolves and there stood Louisiana addressing them. Immediately she caught sight of alpha Novare, she ran towards him and they engaged in their little moment of public display of affection. When they were done, she subtly asked."Why are you here with her?""I brought her here for training," he replied."You've got to be kidding me Novare, she chuckled. She isn't supposed to be here. Send her back to madam Apricot. She knows where to place her accordingly.""Give her a chance Louisiana, will you? Trust me, I won't butt i

MADELINE'S POVEven though I had done everything to the wound, it wouldn't stop bleeding. There was no other option than to send him to the Pack Hospital. As soon as we entered, it unfolded into chaos. Doctors and nurses rushed towards him. Without a word, they whisked him away leaving me standing in the hallway, my hands still sticky with his blood. I stayed outside the door as I waited for him to be treated. Finally, the door creaked open, and the pack doctor stepped out. His face was calm, and I rushed to meet him halfway."How is he?" I asked."He is stable now. If it were a normal human, he would have died," the doctor said flatly. "But surely, it will take time to heal. You can go in and see him now if you want to."Did I want to? I wasn’t sure. My feet stayed rooted to the spot even as my mind screamed for me to turn around and go back to my quarters. After all, he had others who would come to check on him. He didn’t need me.Yet, my feet betrayed me, carrying me toward the doo

MADELINE'S POVAlpha Konan had been gone for weeks. I hadn't seen him since the day I rudely told him off at the Pack hospital. Those words had come from a raw place inside me, and once they were out, there was no taking them back. In fact, I didn't want to take them back. I thought they would make me feel better, and make him distance himself away from him, but all it had done was leave a bitter taste in my mouth. And then, he was nowhere to be found. At first, I noticed his absence in small ways—empty study, his commanding voice during pack meetings. But as the days stretched into weeks, the emptiness became worse. My wolf was always restless, pacing inside me like a caged animal.I tried to ignore it, to shove the ache down and focus on my daily life and life as a diplomat, but it didn't work.I couldn't stop thinking about him. One day, curiosity got the better part of me and I asked Rosaline about him. I tried to sound normal, though I doubt I pulled it off."He's out of the pack

MADELINE'S POVThe air in the pack hospital felt unnaturally still. Since I woke up, Alpha Konan hadn't left my side. At first, I thought nothing of his presence, but as time went on, it became overwhelming.Every time I opened my eyes, he was there, watching as if I might disappear if he blinked. The sight of him sleeping in that uncomfortable chair, head tilted awkwardly, warmed my heart and displeased me at the same time. I needed to make him leave."Alpha Konan," I called softly. His head shot up immediately, scanning my face."You are awake," he said in a groggy voice. "Do you need anything? Water? Or should I call the pack doctor?" He asked intermittently."I need nothing," I replied. "I am fine, better actually. You don't need to be by my bedside all the time."He frowned."I am not leaving, Madeline, until I am sure you are fully rested."His words sent shudders of unease through me. The last thing I wanted was to be a burden to Alpha Konan."I will be very fine on my own. Yo

It was like I was hearing double. The world tilted.I tried to steady myself, but it was no use, and everything went dark. When I opened my eyes again, the sterile white ceiling of the pack hospital greeted me. The scent of antiseptic increased my headache. I tried to sit up, but a hand on my shoulder stopped me."Don't push yourself," Alpha Konan's deep voice said beside me.I turned my head slightly and found him sitting on a chair by my bedside, his gaze fixed on me.I rolled my eyes. Why would he sit here? Doesn't he have anything or any pack documents to review?""You slumped, came his voice. The doctor said it was fatigue. You are going

MADELINE’S POV I was struggling to keep my eyes open, as I adjusted to the rhythm of the border patrol. I had just shifted my focus back to the task at hand, when I was told that the messenger was here for me. It’s about Sera, the messenger had said, offering no further explanation. I didn’t bother to ask. I fell into step behind him as we trudged the road that led to the pack mansion. “Why Sera? What had happened to her? What could she have done that required me to be pulled out from border patrol?” When we got to the park mansion, we stopped in front of the interrogation room. Why here? Rosaline stood waiting, her arms crossed, her gaze very serious. “Go in, she said with an edgy tone. Sera’s waiting for you.” I wanted to question her, but her expression silenced me faster than any command could have period I turned toward the door, my fingers turning the door knob. Pushing the door open, I was met with Sarah sitting on her chair in the centre of the room period

SERA’S POVI inhaled sharply, my breath shaky, but I forced myself to stand tall. My legs trembled, and the flood of fragmented memories threatened to overwhelm me. But I couldn't show weakness—not in front of the Godfather. The man who’d brought me here stood silently to the side while Godfather and his men watched me. Godfather's eyes were intense, like they could see right through me. I felt exposed, but I didn’t look away."You know why you’re here, Marilyn—or should I say Sera?" he asked, a dark grin playing at the corners of his mouth. The word revenge made my heart race. That was what they thought I was here for, but they were wrong. Before I could think of revenge, I needed to remember who I was.I straightened my back and met his gaze. "Yes. I’m here for revenge.""Good," Godfather said, his smile never leaving his face. "Then you’ll do as I say. No mistakes. I get what I want, and you get your revenge."I nodded, trying to mask the unease gnawing at my insides. I couldn’t af

  • Contracted Mate To Alpha Konan   CHAPTER EIGHTY TWO

ALPHA KONAN’S POVThe air was crisp and clean, tinged with moisture from the late afternoon rain. My paws sank slightly into the earth, the leaves crunching beneath me. The familiar feeling, which usually grounded me and connected me with nature, wasn’t working today.Nothing felt right.I pushed myself harder, forcing my legs to move faster. But no matter how much I tried to outrun it, she was there, in every step, in every breath I took. Her memories from breakfast clung to me, following me through the day. They wouldn’t leave.Elyan, my wolf, snarled in frustration. His thoughts tangled with mine, making it hard to focus. He was restless, hungry for something I couldn’t give. His growl of protest echoed in my mind, but I couldn’t let him take over again, not like he had during breakfast. I was glad she hadn’t noticed. She had been bold in the pack meeting, I’d give her that. Wearing that same dress—the one she wore when she first attended. Back then, I’d seen her as nothing more th

MADELINE’S POV I closed the door behind me. Alpha Konan didn’t say a word as he strode to his desk and sat down, not even sparing me a glance. His face was serious and stoic, like was ready to snap at any given second. “Was it because I spoke to Uncle Damien?” Well, I don’t care. They should do well to sort their issues between themselves and also do well not to involve me. I decided to settle on the seat across from him, and then his voice came, sharp and commanding. “I never gave you the permission.” My body stiffened as my body was already halfway to the chair. I straightened myself back up and obeyed. This was not the time to play defiance. Alpha Konan pulled a stack of documents towards him and began flipping through the page. As I stood opposite him, I studied him. He had become more tanner than before. More alluring and sexy. He had now developed a new behavior, running his index fingers on ever-present creases on his forehead. Each crease signifies the burden of his pos

MADELINE'S POVAfter the weird breakfast with Alpha Konan, I prepared for the pack meeting. Then a thought crept in. Since Alpha Konan had decided to introduce me as the diplomat in front of the pack elders, the same pack elders that prejudiced me, how about I make a statement?I stared at myself in the mirror, the emerald green open-back gown. The dress was as good as new. I made sure I packed my hair and my make-up in the same way, just like that time. As I stepped into the corridor, Alpha Konan was already on the way there. His eyes landed on my dress, and for a moment, I saw something shift in his expression. It was either amusement or admiration."The dress still looks good on you, just like that time. Fall into step beside me, he subtly commanded."I did and stepped beside him."Right now, the story's different. We are walking into the great hall as Alpha and diplomat. Quite fortunate and amusing," he remarked.I said nothing. Instead, I lifted my chin. The door to the great ha
