Sparks of furry, Blinded by illusions

Sophia's eyes sparkled as her fingers danced across the glittering jewels on her neck, her eyes scanning every stone, her reflection in the mirror radiant with excitement. Tonight's party was going to be unforgettable, and Anne who sold the best jewelry sets got her covered.

" Try this one, you will look so beautiful with it." Anne, her friend, smiled knowingly as she presented Sophia with another box of a more  sparkling design.

Just as Sophia was about to try on  the diamond necklace, Anne's phone buzzed, and as she glanced at the screen, her expression turned somber. "Sophia, I need to show you something." The tone sent a shiver down Sophia's spine.

Sophia hesitated, but Anne's insistent gaze drew her in. With a flick of her thumb, Anne revealed a photo on her phone. Sophia's gaze froze on the image: Abigail, her friend, beaming beside Sebastian, the boy Sophia had loved since childhood.

"This is a joke, right?" She asked, not wanting to believe.

"It's all over the news, Sophia. The poor ruggard played you for a fool." She answered.

Sophia's vision blurred, her mind reeling with a mix of emotions. Fury, betrayal, and disbelief swirled together like a toxic storm. The room began to spin, and Sophia's vision blurred completely. She stumbled backward, the diamond necklace slipping from her neck, as she struggled to comprehend the magnitude of Abigail's deception. How could Abigail do this to her? To her family? Their friendship? After everything she did for her poor father.

Without a word, Sophia turned and strode out of the boutique, leaving Anne's concerned calls and the glittering jewels behind. The night's party, was obviously cancelled untill further notice.Sophia was determined to confront Abigail and uncover the truth behind this shocking betrayal. Abigail really got some explanation to do.How could this happen? Sebastian, the one who had promised to wait for her, to love her forever, had married her best friend in secret. This was so hurtful,

Sophia's sleek, red sports car glided up the winding driveway to the Knight's family home. The mansion loomed ahead, its grandeur and opulence a stark contrast to the turmoil brewing inside Sophia's heart. The imposing structure was a masterclass in elegance, with towering spires, gleaming marble, and expansive windows that sparkled like diamonds in the sunlight.

As Sophia emerged from her car, the soft rustle of her designer dress echoed through the stillness, Her heels clicked against the pavement with a rhythmic intensity, each step a declaration of her determination. The heavy metallic door swung open, revealing a foyer that shimmered like a palace. Crystal chandeliers refracted rainbow  casting a ray of colors across the marble floor.

Sophia's gaze swept the lavish interior, her eyes locking onto the figure standing before her – Sebastian's mother, Mrs. Knight.  Her face, a mask of elegance and refinement, betrayed a flicker of unease, a whispered secret that only Sophia was privy to. The air was heavy with anticipation, the silence between them a palpable force, as Sophia prepared to unleash the fury that had been simmering within her,

"Mrs. Knight, we need to talk."

Her expression serene, but a hint of unease in her eyes "Of course, Sophia. What's on your mind?"

With her voice deepen with venom, Sophia said  "You know exactly what I'm talking about. You promised me I'd be your daughter-in-law, and yet...and yet you married Sebastian off to someone else!" Sophia fought back to hold her tears.

"Sophia, dear, I know this may come as a shock to you, but—"

Sophia quickly interrupts, her voice rising "A shock? You call this a shock? You call betraying me, breaking your promise, a shock? You tore my heart out, Mrs. Knight."

"Sophia, please understand—" Her composure was breaking.

"No, you understand! You understand that you used me, manipulated me, and discarded me like trash! Why? Why did you do this to me?"

Mrs Knight answered ,her voice barely above a whisper "Because, Sophia...because Sebastian was never truly yours to claim. He was always meant for someone else...someone more suitable."

Sophia let out a bitter laughter, "More suitable? You mean someone with a better family history, a bigger bank account? Someone who can further the Knight's legacy?"

"Sophia, that's not fair—"

"Fair? You want to talk about fair? You destroyed me, Mrs. Knight. You took away the one person I loved, the one person who made me feel alive. And you did it with a smile on your face and a lie in your heart!"

"Sophia, Watch your language." She warned

"You're dead to me, Mrs. Knight.Dead! And I will never forgive you for this ." With her eyes sharp as a razor and her skin fuming red, she left the house with those words .

Sophia slammed the car door behind her, her anger and frustration boiling over. She was still fuming from her encounter with Sebastian's mother and now she was determined to take matters into her own hands. Just as she started the engine, her phone rang. She snatched it up, expecting an apology from her but the voice on the other end was unfamiliar yet striking an untold resemblance.

"Sophia, it's Rachel. I work for Sebastian's team. I thought you should know... he's going over for a honeymoon trip in New York with Abigail."

Sophia's eyes narrowed, her grip on the steering wheel tightening. "What? I thought they just got married? When did this happen?"

"They're staying at the Central Park Hotel. I thought you'd want to know, given your... history with Sebastian and you know what I want with this information."

Sophia's mind raced. She couldn't let Abigail get away with this. "Book a flight for me, Rachel. I need to be on the next available flight to New York and we would discuss your own side of the deal when I arrive."

Rachel hesitated for a moment before responding, "Already done, Sophia. Your flight leaves in two hours. You'll arrive at JFK by tonight."

Sophia's smile was cold and calculated. "Thank you, Rachel. You've been very... helpful."

With a fierce determination, Sophia put the car in gear and sped out of the area muttering,"Honeymoon my ass!"

I love Sophia so far. Even if she's the villain. Her character is imposing.
