“What? Keep an eye on him until we get there!” Henry snapped, ending the call abruptly.
“What’s wrong? Did something happen to the boy?” Regina’s expression remained stoic, but her voice was laced with concern.
“He suddenly got off at the side of the road and just stood there. My men asked him to come with them, but he refused,” Henry explained as thoroughly as possible. “He insists we pick him up ourselves. That kid, with his infuriatingly stubborn and selfish nature.”
“You’re one to talk. You two are like carbon copies of each other,” Regina jibed.
“I’m not selfish and stubborn like that. He must have gotten that from you. Just listen to yourself,” Henry retorted.
“He’s obviously your son. He inherited it from you. Besides, his last name is Jian, not Tan.”
“Hey, I couldn’t have had a child by myself. You’re the one who gave birth to him!”
“Maybe it was another woman. You’re lucky I’m helping you pretend.”
They bickered back and forth. The driver up front tried to block out the noise from his squabbling employers. He sighed in relief when he saw the car ahead. “Young Master, we’ve arrived.”
Henry and Regina ceased their argument. Henry cleared his throat, “Let’s get out and deal with this.”
They both exited the car and approached the man waiting outside. “Where is the boy?” Henry demanded.
The man gestured with his eyes. Regina immediately walked towards Kevin, who was standing by the roadside, with Henry quick to overtake her.
Henry gave the boy a light tap on the head. “What are you doing here? Why are you making everyone worry?”
Kevin rubbed his head and turned away, his small lips pouting. “Even if you’re here, I won’t go home until my demands are met.”
“You! Don’t you fear staying out here and meeting a ghost that’ll drag you to another world and eat you?” Henry tried to scare him.
“I don’t believe in such cheap tricks! Don’t talk to me! Both of you, go away!” Kevin shot back.
“Fine, leave the kid! Let’s go and pretend he doesn’t exist. Forget the marriage contract. There’s no reason for us to be together. I’ll go back to my own house.” Regina declared.
“Regina, what are you talking about?” Henry was shocked by her sudden decision. “You know the consequences if we don’t marry—”
“I’ve thought it over and…” Regina stopped when the boy grabbed her hand.
“No. Mom can’t just leave. You two have to be together! If you still want to leave, I’ll cry right here!”
“Are you threatening me with tears?”
Kevin immediately sat down and began to wail, still holding onto Regina’s hand. “Mom, don’t go! Hwaaa…” His cries grew louder, causing passing cars to slow down.
“Regina, do something!” Henry was embarrassed, covering his face with his hands.
“Alright, I’ll call off my decision!” Regina conceded.
Kevin instantly stopped crying. “Really? Mommy, you’re not lying, are you?”
“Yes, but you also have to come home and agree to the decisions the adults have made.”
Kevin pouted again. “So it’s a trick, huh? This time, I’ll forgive it. But the time frame is too short. I want to extend it to five years!”
“Five years is too long!” Henry and Regina protested in unison, both showing their displeasure.
“No, it has to be five years!” Kevin insisted. His strong voice turned to a mumble as he said, “If not, I’ll disappear.”
“What did you just say?” Regina asked.
“Nothing. The most important thing is that it must be five years, and if needed, extended until you two fall in love,” Kevin stated firmly.
Regina and Henry exchanged looks. The elegant woman with her flowing hair gazed at the man beside her with disdain. “I could never fall in love with him. Even in a hundred years, I wouldn’t be interested in someone like him.”
“Hey, I would never like a woman below my standards like you. You’re not my type either!”
They both turned away from each other.
“Dad and Mom should stop fighting. You’re not children, why do you argue so much?” Kevin advised in his cute voice. Then he asked again, “Daddy, do you agree to marry within five years?”
“Alright, five years. It’s not a big deal,” Henry finally agreed.
Kevin smiled triumphantly. “You made the right decision, Daddy. Now, let’s go home. Don’t waste time, I’m very tired.”
His small legs led the way into the car, ahead of Regina and Henry. The two adults still occasionally refused to look at each other, even as they sat side by side in the car.

Once home, Kevin sat sleepily on the office sofa, watching the contract discussion between the two adults.
Henry showed the contract to Kevin. “I’ve amended it. Are you satisfied now? Go to your room. If you fall asleep here, I’ll just leave you.”
Kevin nodded, slowly making his way out of the room and almost bumping into the door. “Since when did this door move?” The boy muttered as he continued on.
Regina stifled a laugh. “CEO Jian, why don’t you ask a servant to escort him? What if he falls down the stairs?”
“That’s not going to happen! Miss Tan, it’s time for you to sign.”
Regina picked up the pen but hesitated. “Can I add one more clause?”
Henry sighed. “Why didn’t you say so earlier? I’ll have to reprint the contract if you make changes now.”
“But this is important.”
“Do whatever you want!” Henry gave in.
Regina began writing in the contract. Henry looked over her shoulder. “What’s this? Miss Regina, how can you add a condition like this? Do you have another man? Who is it?”
“I don’t have anyone right now, but it’s not about you. Aren’t you still waiting for that woman to come back? I don’t want to be in the way of someone else’s relationship.”
“Since when do you care about me? I know this benefits you too, right? Hand over the contract! I’m adding something as well.” Henry snatched the contract and wrote something in it.
Regina signed it.
“Now we need to establish one more thing. You have to call me by a term of endearment. Let’s practice now!”
“What?”
“Didn’t you hear me clearly? I’ll tell you what to call me!” Henry whispered something to Regina.
“Are you serious about me calling you that?”
“Yes, now repeat it! I want to hear it directly.” A mischievous grin spread across Henry’s face.
“No. I don’t want to. Why don’t we start by just calling each other by our names,” Regina firmly refused his unwelcome suggestion.Henry’s gaze sharpened. “We’re supposed to be a loving couple. If we don’t use affectionate terms, who will believe us? Regina, it’s not like you’ve never dated and used endearing terms before, right?”Regina touched her neck, prompting Henry to sneer. “Seriously, you’ve never dated anyone? Has no one ever called you ‘darling’? Am I going to be the first?”“Stop mocking me. I’m not like you, throwing around pet names to every girl you sleep with. Don’t lump me in with them!” Regina snapped, standing up from the sofa, eager to end this. “Are we done here? I’m leaving.”Henry quickly hugged her from behind. Regina stiffened at the unexpected contact. He whispered in a lower, more intimate tone that tickled her sensitive ear. “Then call me ‘husband.’ You’ll be the first to do so.”Henry’s voice was soft and seductive, like a magnet for women. Regina shrugged
Regina and Henry arrived at Civil Affairs Bureau,, greeted by a flurry of questions that caught their ears. The spotlight of cameras and microphones was on them. "Have you come to register your marriage?" "Is it true that you've actually been married since you were young? Why didn't you register your marriage sooner?" "Why are you hiding your relationship?" Regina and Henry didn't have time to think of a good reason to answer. However, there was one question that caught Regina's attention: "Madam, was the dress you wore designed by Madame Jian? Did your mother-in-law make it specially?" Regina was taken aback, unable to stop thinking. Questions swirled in her head. Additionally, she recalled what Madam Jian had said in an interview. Henry responded to the noisy reporters, "Sorry, we will hold a press conference later. Right now, we have to go in and register our marriage." Henry grasped Regina's hand tightly. They broke through the crowd of enthusiastic reporters. "We can finall
"You can go now! This will be proof of our relationship," Henry insisted, pulling away and creating distance between them. "You can open the door now."Regina looked at the man who showed no sign of remorse. She wanted to say something, but the words stuck in her throat. It was unclear why this chaotic feeling of anger surged within her."Do you have something to say to me?" Henry asked, glancing at Regina, who remained motionless.Regina stayed silent, stepping out of the car with a simmering rage. She made sure to slam the door shut with force. As she glanced at the car window, seeing Henry's annoyed expression brought a slight sense of satisfaction. With her gaze fixed ahead, Regina walked, aware of her employees watching her. It seemed Henry had succeeded in stirring gossip about her. The memory of the kiss everyone was talking about distracted her, even as she struggled to focus on reviewing documents in her office. The thought consumed her, and without realizing it, Regina touch
"The woman pulled Henry away from Regina's body. Regina could see the woman, who from her facial expression appeared to be at least 40 years old. "Henry, come with me!"The woman grabbed Henry's hand forcefully."I can't leave my wife; we'll talk another time." Henry brushed off the woman's hand. The woman grabbed it again and frowned, looking annoyed, "I won't let you go this time."Regina could see the obsession in the woman's eyes. Unconsciously, she wrapped her arm possessively around Henry's arm. "Sorry, auntie.I can't allow my husband to talk with another woman alone. Could you please not disturb my husband?"Henry quickly responded to Regina's action, naturally playing his part. His hand again brushed off the other woman's hand for the second time and embraced Regina so intimately. "My beloved wife, I won't do anything you dislike." His voice was so tender and full of love.Anyone who saw would feel that Henry loved his wife so much. It was rare for a Henry Jian to be so gentle
"Are you with that man right now? Regina, how dare you leave the office for some useless personal matter? You better start preparing your resignation letter! I don't need a child who has no sense of responsibility at work." "Dad, I didn't mean to neglect my work. It's just that I--" Regina tried to explain. "Get back to the office right now!" Mr. Tan impatiently cut Regina off and ended the call. Regina showed a complicated expression on her face. A gentle touch on her shoulder made her turn around. A handsome man was looking at her gently and said, "What's wrong? Did something happen?" "I'm still thinking about work at the office. We'd better go home now," Regina said calmly. "But, you haven't even chosen any clothes yet." "It's okay, I can ask my secretary to do it." Regina quickly walked out of the store. She didn't even realize that Henry was slow to follow her. Regina's mind was in chaos. Even though she wanted to break free from her parents' control, she was always
"Are you still going to wait?" The young boy glanced briefly. "Yes, why haven't they arrived yet?" Kevin stood in front of the door, his expression filled with worry. "Perhaps Master has work and chose to stay late," said the head butler standing behind him. "But I've already informed Daddy." "Young Master, forgive me for saying this, but why do you insist on preparing all this? And Master and Madam are workaholics. They might not come home." Kevin fell silent for a moment. His expression grew even sadder. "I know this might seem futile, but I just want to do something for them. Let's wait for another hour, and if they don't come, I'll tidy everything up." "Young Master doesn't need to do anything. We will take care of it; it's the servants' duty. You can rest after this." Kevin turned to the head butler. "Uncle, you've always been kind and understanding to me. Thank you." "It's my duty; there's no need to thank me." "I still hope our efforts won't be in vain," Kevin said soft
"Tada! Do you like it? I saw it on TV, Dad and Mom are officially married. This is a celebration gift from me," Kevin exclaimed enthusiastically, showing what he and the staff had prepared.Henry and Regina were silent as they looked at what was in front of them. It made for an awkward feeling. "You shouldn't have done this. Isn't it just a waste of time?" Regina remarked.Henry walked over to the table decorated with candles, and even the dining area was arranged to resemble a romantic restaurant. "Kevin has prepared all of this, we shouldn't waste it." Henry pulled out a chair. "Come and sit!"Regina hesitantly walked over to the chair prepared for her. "Since when have you become so tolerant of our son?" Regina scoffed."I just didn't want him to cry, and I had to invite my Assistant to come. Just play along with what he wants," Henry replied."I'll leave you two alone, and the servants will leave after serving the food. So, Dad and Mom can have some intimate time," Kevin announced
Regina stared at Henry with a sharp gaze. "Just give it to your ex, she'll pay you back with an unforgettable kiss." Regina distanced herself from Henry. Henry seemed pleased with Regina's reaction. "My dear wife, are you truly jealous of my ex? Relax, I never actually did anything with them. It was all lies, really. Don't dwell on it." "I don't care if it's true or not! It's none of my business; you can do whatever you want. We're just a contractual couple!" Regina asserted. She grabbed her documents and walked toward the door. "Where are you going?" Henry asked. "To the living room. Don't you dare come and bother me again!" Regina slammed the door shut. She clutched her rapidly beating heart, feeling a strange sense of relief. She tried to push her feelings aside. "I mustn't believe a word that man says, and it's none of my business anyway. We're rivals; I can't afford to be careless." Regina walked to the living room. She turned on the light and began working. Occasion
