Vanya's POV
"Luna Vanya! Are you here?" Elliot's voice echoed on the outskirts of the Shadow Forest. I regained control of my body and sprinted towards the sound. But my mind was filled with confusion about the giant wolf I had just encountered. Who was it, and why did it appear here? After running for a while, I saw Elliot's figure. I slowed my pace and stopped behind a giant tree trunk to shift back into my human form. The process was more difficult than usual. It felt as if the forces within me had been tearing at each other. Selena seemed to have fallen into a deep slumber, unresponsive to my attempts to rouse her. I dressed casually, and Beta Elliot arrived just in time. He scrutinized me carefully to ensure I was unharmed before gently adjusting my clothes. Then, he squatted down to help me put on my shoes with care and skill. His eyes were always filled with a hint of concern. "Did you shift? What did you do in the Shadow Forest?" he asked softly. His gaze fixed on me, as if trying to decipher my true thoughts. "I sensed a strange presence in the Shadow Forest. The situation between packs is already unstable. Any little disturbance could trigger a greater crisis," I replied. I omitted the information about the giant wolf. Its appearance was too suspicious, and I vaguely felt it had something to do with me. Elliot nodded slightly, his brows still furrowed. "You're right. I'll arrange more patrols immediately to strengthen the border and forest surveillance. But you must be extra careful. I know Alpha Cliff's decision has put you in a very difficult position, but don't do anything drastic." I looked at him with some surprise. Before my rebirth, when I was in trouble, he didn't join others in kicking me when I was down, but he never expressed such direct support for me either. Back then, I felt abandoned by the world, struggling alone in the dark. Now, Elliot showed his sympathy for me clearly. "Don't worry," I nodded in response. I turned and walked back towards the pack. Upon returning, I went straight to the bedroom Cliff and I shared. Pushing the door open, the room was filled with a familiar yet strange scent. Cliff wasn't there, and I felt no emotional ripples. The love I once had for him had long been eroded by his betrayal. I slowly approached the vanity table, sat down, and looked at myself in the mirror. My eyes showed fatigue and determination. Unbidden, my thoughts drifted back to my past life, the painful memories flooding back like a tide. But I was no longer that helpless me. This time, I would change my destiny. In the evening, after freshening up, I prepared to lie down and rest. At that moment, the door was suddenly pushed open, and Cliff walked in. He glanced at me and headed straight for the bed, seemingly intending to rest as usual. I frowned and said coldly, "What are you doing? Get out." Cliff looked at me impatiently, "What's the matter with you? This is my room, our room." I stared at him expressionlessly, "Your room? From the moment you decided to keep Melinda, you were no longer welcome here." His eyes widened in surprise, as if he couldn't believe I would say such a thing. In his impression, I had always been a gentle and compliant partner. "Vanya, I've already explained to you. I just need Melinda to stay to stabilize my wolf. It's for the sake of the entire pack. You must understand me," he said with a hint of helplessness in his tone. I waved my hand indifferently, "Whatever you say, I don't want to hear it. Do whatever you want." Cliff took a step forward and continued, "After Melinda has learned for a while, I will find a suitable pack for her and send her away from Seattle. Just bear with it a little longer." I said nonchalantly, "Got it, you can leave." "Luna Vanya!" Cliff called my title impatiently, his voice carrying a hint of threat and warning. I could clearly sense him exerting his Alpha aura. But my wolf had no intention of submitting. "Do you want to fully unleash your Alpha aura on your Luna here?" I asked with a cold smile. His face turned a bit ugly, clearly angered by my attitude. He glared at me fiercely before turning and leaving the room, slamming the door shut. I looked at the closed door, immediately picked up my phone, and dialed Theodore Kimmons. Currently, he was just an ordinary werewolf who ran a medium-sized company. But I knew he was actually the illegitimate son of the Lycan King. However, this secret had not yet been revealed. Soon, a deep voice came from the other end of the phone, "Hello?" "Theodore, it's me, Vanya," I said. He was obviously surprised, "Why are you contacting me? I don't remember us being friends." I took a deep breath and said slowly, "I need your help now." There was a moment of silence on the other end, followed by Theodore's curious voice, "You must be joking. What help can I offer you?" I replied calmly, "I hope you can give me an invitation to the pack gathering in a few days. It's very important to me."Vanya's POVTo my surprise, Theodore didn't press for further reasons.I received a verbal commitment from him. Although I couldn't say I was completely reassured, I wasn't panicked either.I knew Theodore was a man of his word. Once he promised something, he was likely to follow through. As for me, I planned to keep Theodore's identity a deep secret, never to be revealed to others in the pack. After all that, I dragged my exhausted body to the bathtub, craving a good soak to ease my tense nerves. As the warm water gradually covered my body, my thoughts began to drift. After the initial panic, I gradually calmed down. After my bath, I locked the bedroom door.I was well aware of where Cliff was at this hour. He was with Melinda, undoubtedly.Although my wolf was still restless, strangely, there was no pain from the betrayal of my mate.I knew Cliff wouldn't engage in overly intimate actions with Melinda just yet.But this restraint wouldn't last long.Soon, he would indulge his wolf a
Vanya's POVI waved my hand quickly, smiling, "Don't say that. You're Cliff's... friend, which makes you our pack's guest."I deliberately paused on the word "friend," observing her reaction.Melinda's face flickered with a change, but she quickly composed herself. She whispered, "Luna Vanya, you are truly magnanimous."At this, Elliot couldn't help but interject, "Luna Vanya, she's just a..."I raised my chin slightly, my gaze firm as I interrupted him, "Elliot, Melinda is now a member of our pack. Her status is special. We must afford her the appropriate treatment. She can't keep wearing those old clothes. She needs suitable attire."In my past life, Melinda used my aversion to her to pretend to be a sweet girl who was bullied. In contrast, I was portrayed as a cruel, cold queen. This time, I chose to change my approach. Before leaving, I swept my gaze over the pack members one last time and gave Jenny a look.I went to Maggie's house. As soon as I entered, I saw several exquisite e
Cliff's POVA wave of annoyance surged within me, my brows furrowing tightly.I snapped at Elliot, "I explicitly told you to inform her not to come today. What exactly happened?"Elliot's gaze shifted between Melinda and me.Melinda, startled by the suffocating tension, immediately had her eyes rimmed with a circle of redness. She hurriedly explained, her voice on the verge of tears, "This isn't Beta Elliot's fault. I told him to notify Luna Vanya... I'm aware of my status, and I don't want to cause you any trouble, so... I thought it would be more appropriate for Luna Vanya to accompany you inside..."With that, she lowered her head, her vulnerable and helpless appearance unconsciously stirring a hint of pity in my heart.I raised my hand to rub my temple, internally caught in a very dilemma. On one hand, I really didn't want Vanya to appear here, fearing various unexpected situations. On the other hand, I couldn't ignore Melinda's terrified state.Melinda gently bit her lower lip, l
Vanya’s POV“Alpha Cliff, take good care of Melinda. I’ll head inside first.” Casually, I slipped my arm from Cliff’s. He froze for a moment, clearly not expecting me to say that. Then, he quickly grabbed my arm. “Let Elliot accompany you inside. It’s not ideal for you to go alone.” I sneered inwardly. Cliff didn’t want me to go together with them. I smiled and nodded, watching as he and Melinda made their way toward the entrance. Then, I turned to Elliot and said, “Oh, I forgot my purse in the car. Could you help me get it please? My phone is in there.” “Of course.” He nodded and quickly ran off. Without hesitation, I quickened my pace, weaving past guests. As the servants opened the door, I made sure to walk in confidently right after Cliff and Melinda.I was the Luna who got betrayed by her mate. A Luna who knew exactly what she brought to the table. At the threshold, I paused slightly, allowing a faint, unreadable smile to grace my lips. The murmurs started immediately—lo
Vanya's POVI remembered that there was an ordinary obsidian at this auction. It looked gray and unpolished, with a rough and uneven surface, so no one paid much attention to it.But in reality, it was an obsidian blessed by the Moon Goddess. If placed within a pack, it could influence the pack and the surrounding area.It could even strengthen the protective barriers of the pack's territory. Now that I've decided to leave Cliff, I need to secure my own future. This blessed obsidian is a great opportunity. I must find a way to get it. I can't afford to miss it.I turned my head, watching Cliff and Melinda talking and laughing together, and then quietly averted my gaze.Melinda indeed had some skills, which was one of the reasons Cliff was attracted to her in the future.Recalling my past life, Melinda had once helped Cliff identify a great piece of land. The land itself was excellent, and there were real estate developments built by the Silver Moon Pack's companies around it.Melinda
Cliff's POVI thought Vanya's attendance at the auction was just out of curiosity, but when she bid half a million dollars on that piece of rock, I couldn't help but frown.Melinda whispered, "This stone has no value. Luna Vanya's half a million is likely to be wasted."I tried to Mind-link with Vanya, but she refused to communicate with me.Eventually, the obsidian was sold to Vanya for five million dollars.I immediately stood up.Five million is not much to me, but she didn't consult with me about what she wanted to bid on.At that moment, I noticed Vanya kept looking in one direction.Following her gaze, I saw Theodore. He was also looking at Vanya, even cheerfully raising his glass to her, which made my mood even gloomier. When leaving the auction venue, Melinda tugged at me and said, "Alpha Cliff, Luna Vanya will cause you to lose a lot of money."I coldly replied, "She bid the price herself. No one will pay for her."Vanya's POVAs the noise of the auction gradually faded, I wa
Vanya's POVI looked at Cliff's face and couldn't help but sneer inwardly. However, I responded calmly, "We have no relationship. I don't even know him."Cliff said coldly, "Remember, I don't care about your relationship with him, but outside you are Mrs. Todd, the Luna of the Silver Moon Pack. You better be aware of your identity and keep a distance from other werewolves."Hearing Cliff say this, I couldn't hold back a derisive laugh, "Alpha Cliff, can you demand the same from yourself before demanding from others? Today you brought Melinda here, did you consider your identity and my reputation?""I had Elliot inform you today.""Did you? Was it to tell me not to come?"Cliff fell silent. Of course, he knew it was his fault.I said, "Even Theodore, a werewolf from another pack, could mistake Melinda for your Luna, let alone others. If you really like Melinda, then let's reject each other.""Vanya, what are you talking about?" Cliff frowned, a low growl emanating from his throat. That
Vanya's POVI raised my chin slightly, my tone calm yet resolute, "I am the Luna of the Silver Moon Pack and do not usually participate in the operations of the pack's companies. However, Alpha Cliff is different. If I were to relay my previous words to Alpha Cliff, I wonder what he might think."Derrick's face flushed red like a firecracker that had just been lit, veins bulging on his neck.He roared uncontrollably, "You woman, how can you be so treacherous!"I turned my gaze to Theodore and spoke frankly, "I don't want to beat around the bush anymore, Theodore. I ask you to lend me four million dollars, for a period of three years, and I will repay it in full with interest."Derrick's eyes bulged as if he had heard the most absurd thing in the world. He shouted, "Are you talking nonsense! Four million dollars, do you have any idea how high the interest will accumulate to after three years? If you can't pay it back, we will lose four million dollars for nothing. You are Cliff's mate.
Third Person's POVCliff immediately pushed open the bathroom door. The room was filled with steam and a faint, sweet scent. The smell was oddly familiar to Cliff, as if he had encountered it before. But Melinda didn't give Cliff time to think. She threw herself into his arms. Feeling the smooth skin and the warm touch, Cliff shuddered and tried to push Melinda away. However, Melinda wrapped her arms around his neck. Her face was flushed with a hint of red. Her eyes were filled with desire."Alpha Cliff... I really can't live without you. Don't you like me?" Melinda's voice was unusually soft and seductive.Cliff felt an unfamiliar sensation rising within him. Just a gentle touch was enough to ignite the desire he had been suppressing."Cliff, look at me. You used to care for me the most," Melinda said, standing on her tiptoes and placing a kiss on the edge of Cliff's lips. She then teasingly ran her tongue along his lips, a mo
Third Person's POVCalvert noticed Vanya's hesitation and said, "Don't worry, I checked. There are no cameras around here."Vanya frowned and asked, "Don't you have to go for a photoshoot?""I've finished for today, but I'll probably be around for the next few days. I still have some ads to shoot," Calvert replied."Then go ahead and get busy. I'll do the same," Vanya said, preparing to leave. But Calvert stopped her, placing the takeout bento in her hand. "It's from my grandma.""Mine?" Vanya asked, surprised.Calvert added, "She made it specially for you."Ever since Vanya had visited Calvert's home last time, his grandmother had taken a liking to her.Vanya accepted it with a bit of embarrassment. After all, it was Grandma Sutton's kind gesture."Tell her thank you for me," Vanya said, patting Calvert's shoulder as she left."Keep up the good work! Your future is bright."Calvert watched Vanya's r
Vanya's POVGrace noticed my thoughtful expression and asked, "Did Cliff suspect you when you went back to the Silver Moon Packhouse today?""He did suspect me, but... it wasn't quite what I expected," I replied."What do you mean 'not quite what you expected'? Isn't suspicion just suspicion?" Grace hugged a pillow, her curiosity piqued as she waited for me to explain.I said, "He gave me a ring today and said... he likes me."After I finished, Grace was stunned. "Cliff?""Yes," I confirmed."This feels like something my silly brother Theo would do," Grace said, looking puzzled.I rested my chin on my hand and thought carefully before saying, "Cliff probably likes Melinda. He's saying this because of M Group. Right now, the Todd Group can't afford any more scandals. He wants to keep me stable. As long as we don't divorce or cause trouble during this period, he can avoid a lot of headaches."I repeated to myself, as if tr
Vanya's POV"Enough! Cliff, bickering with a woman like this isn't like you. What do you really want by calling me back? Don't tell me it's because you're jealous that I was at Wilmot's birthday. I won't believe such a ridiculous thing coming out of your mouth," I said.Cliff opened his mouth but couldn't find any words."About Melinda, I was wrong about you," Cliff suddenly said.I thought I had misheard."Are you... apologizing to me?"Cliff's expression froze.I looked at him and asked again, "You didn't call me back just to apologize, did you?"Cliff was silent."I knew it was for the apology," I couldn't help but say."Vanya, you..." Cliff's face turned a bit sour.He was used to being in control and having others submit to him. Admitting he was wrong was a big step for him.Cliff tried to stay calm and said, "I was wrong about this. I shouldn't have accused you. But Melinda didn't deserve to go
Vanya's POV"Sorry, Mr. Hammond, but Alpha Cliff sent me to bring Luna Vanya home," Elliot said, looking at me. "Luna Vanya, Alpha Cliff is very concerned about you. Please come back with us.""What if I don't want to go back?" I asked.Elliot paused for a moment, then said, "Then I'm afraid we'll have to insist."The bodyguards behind Elliot immediately stepped forward. Wilmot tightly shielded me, saying, "Don't worry, I'm here!"I wasn't actually scared. I knew that even if Elliot couldn't take me away, he wouldn't dare cause a scene at the Hammond residence. However, the fact that the Todd family could so easily enter the Hammond residence was quite surprising. It seemed that Cliff's position as the top businessman in Los Angeles was well-deserved.If things really escalated, no one would come out unscathed."Wait." I gently patted Wilmot's back and stepped in front of him. "Today is Wilmot's birthday party. Bringing
Vanya's POVGrace, holding the skirt of her Lolita dress, ran over and said, "Wilmot's been looking for you everywhere. He's frantic. You should change out of that costume quickly. We'll head back soon!""Alright," I replied, thinking to myself that Cliff would probably send Elliot to find me any minute now.I glanced at Theodore one last time before following Grace back to the dressing room. After quickly changing and removing my makeup, I followed Grace out of the dressing room, only to bump into Wilmot, who had come to find me."What are you two doing here?" Wilmot frowned. "I couldn't find you after we entered. Where did you go?""I suddenly needed to use the restroom," I said, using the first excuse that came to mind.Hearing this, Wilmot's face seemed to flush slightly. He turned his head and said, "Let's go. There's nothing fun here anymore.""Good! Let's get out of here. I don't think there's anything fun here ei
Third Person's POV"Unsure?" Vanya turned around in surprise at Theodore's words and said, "If he doesn't come today, then all my efforts would be in vain.""Whether he comes or not doesn't matter. As long as he knows that the M Group's masked ball is packed with guests, that's enough," Theodore replied.Vanya sensed a hint of jealousy in his tone."That's true...""But you just want to annoy him, don't you?"Vanya couldn't deny it, but she wasn't that naive."If he comes and sees that Kendrick doesn't look anything like me, he won't suspect me anymore," she said.To create the Kendrick persona, she had put in a lot of effort. This time, she planned to wear flats, don a clown outfit, and appear in front of Cliff, making him completely drop his suspicions about her."Vanya? Vanya? Are you ready?" Grace's voice called from outside the door.Vanya, now dressed as a clown, opened the door to see Grace in a Lolita outf
Vanya's POVIn the afternoon, the Hammond family's lobby was decorated exceptionally lively.Wilmot usually surrounded himself with friends who were more like troublemakers, rarely hosting a proper birthday party.Tonight, many rich second-generation heirs and socialites had shown up, but Wilmot was completely uninterested in them. These people had simply heard that the second son of the Hammond family was celebrating his birthday and had brought gifts to get close. In reality, Wilmot couldn't even remember most of their names.I sat to one side, occasionally glancing at the clock. The masked ball had already started, and I was racking my brain for a good excuse to take Wilmot away.Just then, Edwin's personal bodyguard approached us."Alpha Edwin says there's a masked ball tonight. He wants you to attend on his behalf, but under no circumstances should you reveal your identity or let anyone know that someone from the Hammond f
Vanya's POV"Vanya!" From a distance, Wilmot, dressed in workout clothes, ran over. He must have just finished his morning exercise. His bright red hair was particularly eye-catching, and I spotted him from far away."Up so early. Have you had breakfast yet?" he asked."Not yet," I replied, pointing to the people going in and out of the second-floor study. "Is it always like this at your place every morning?""Not usually. Things have just been busier lately," Wilmot said, taking my hand. "Come on, let's go eat.""Grace hasn't woken up yet. I should wake her up," I said."No need. Grace loves to sleep in. I'll have them make it when she gets up." Wilmot insisted.I was about to agree when he added, "Besides, Edwin should be eating too. His private chef is really good.""N-no, that's okay," I tried to decline, but Wilmot said, "What's there to be afraid of? We're all family here!"I reluctantly followed Wilmot to t
