Zara was shocked at the sound she was hearing. She knows she can't be mistaken but, she needs to be sure so she walks closer. This is the sound of a woman, and this person is moaning. Zara already knows who the person is and her heart skipped a bit.

She knew who the person was, she didn't want to jump to conclusions. Zara stepped back a little bit, she just wanted to run but, she quickly summoned the courage. If the person in there is who she thinks she is, then it can only mean one thing.
