Ronan stepped out to order something but before leaving, he turned to Damien with a serious expression. “Keep an eye on those two demons,” he instructed, nodding towards Regina and Abel.

Ronan knew that once he steps out of this room, Abel and Regina would start fighting again. It hurt him each time to see them after each other’s lives. He did not know what he could do to make this fight stop? Initially, he used to think if Damien and Regina end up together, Abel and Regina would start bearing each other’s presence, if not like each other. But now with Anastasia in picture, it did not seem it was anywhere close. The thing was that he always rooted for Regina and Damien but now he was not sure. Of course, he wanted Regina and Damien to end up together and happy but Damien looked radiant and finally at peace and all of that was happening because Anastasia was by his bestfriend’s side.

Regina sat in silence while Ronan went out, her gaze drifting toward Damien and Anastasia. She notic

A while later, Ronan returned, and the atmosphere shifted back to a lively celebration, though only Damien and Anastasia seemed genuinely happy. The rest of the group appeared to be drowning their sorrows in drinks and laughter that didn’t quite reach their eyes. All of them had their sorrows to forget. Abel’s party gave them an opportunity to feel what was going around them as they could no longer ignore it. Suddenly, the door to the private room swung open and a woman dressed in a striking red dress stepped inside. Upon spotting Ronan, she furrowed her brows and said, “Sorry, I came to the wrong room.”Hearing that familiar voice, Anastasia looked up, her face lighting up with surprise. “Addy, what are you doing here?”Ronan’s attention snapped to the newcomer as his curiosity increased all of a sudden.Abel, on the other hand, froze, forgetting to breathe as he recognized the woman who had gone MIA on him. It was Adeline. Oh my god. The woman of his dream was standing in front of h

The next day at the Callahan house, a disheveled Adeline burst through the door, tears streaming down her face. Mrs. Luna had woken Anastasia from her sleep when she sensed that something was terribly wrong with Adeline. The staff at Callahan house recognised Adeline as Anastasia’s dear friend and so they offered her drinks when they saw that she was not looking well. Anastasia and Damien hurried to the living room as their hearts were racing with concern. When they spotted Adeline, the sight of her distress sent a jolt of fear through them. She was such a jolly girl. If she was in this condition, it certainly meant that something worse had happened. The first thought that came to Anastasia was Poppy. Poppy was sick these days. But then, she thought if something had happened to Poppy, Adeline would not be here? Is Austin fine? Again, if Austin was unwell, Adeline would be with him. This left her with the single conclusion that it was Adeline’s personal problem. “What happened?” Ana

Adeline nodded. “It’s from that night…”She hesitated before continuing, “When I went home, I realized all those thoughts I had that night… It was him.”Anastasia’s brow furrowed. “Your online friend?”Now she regretted not investigating properly that night. If she had investigated properly, things would have been in control. This online friend.. She wanted to beat him up. Adeline nodded, her voice filled with a mix of frustration and resignation. “Yes, Romeo. I heard his voice… He called me ‘Ed.’ Only he ever called me that. I remember it clearly that it was him.”In the beginning, Adeline could not remember what happened that night. But as days began passing, some things came back to her in flashes. However, she couldn't trust herself. It was only when she realised that she was pregnant, she realised that she could no longe rhide from the truth and she needed to confront it. “Did you tell him?” Anastasia asked softly.Adeline’s lips twisted in a bitter smile. “I texted him, told hi

In the living room, Caleb returned with a glass of water and Damien wrapped his arms around Anastasia while providing her with a sense of comfort. “Damien,” she said earnestly, “If one day I die, you have to take care of Addy and my godchild on my behalf. Do you get it?”“Baby, don’t talk nonsense,” he replied, concern etched across his face. “Nothing will happen to you. I promise, I will take care of Addy and our godchild.”They had already taken the role of god-parents. They were the self declared god-parents! Even if Adeline did not make them the godparents of her child, they would love the baby so much and protect him or her from all the dangers. Caleb chimed in, “Sister-in-law, don’t worry. I will always look out for Miss Addy and my god-niece or god-nephew.”Anastasia hugged both Caleb and Damien tightly. “Thank you, guys.”In the evening, a doctor visited to check on Adeline. After a thorough examination, the doctor informed them that Adeline’s health was fragile and that she

As Adeline peacefully enjoyed her meal, Damien turned to Caleb and said, “Mom is calling you back home.”He had spent almost two weeks with the couple and now Carolyn was insisting that Caleb should be sent back home. Even grandmother was missing him a lot. Caleb immediately grasped Anastasia’s hand, his eyes wide with both determination and desperation. “Anna, I don’t want to go.”He was so used to living a free and great life here that he did not want to go. Damien and Anastasia were not nosy. Nor do relatives come here every other day. Those two were very concerned about him in all the ways. He would get a very healthy but delicous breakfast that Anna designed for him. She would buy him cool clothes and she would also get him subscription for all the games that he liked. When Damien was against him playing videogames all day, she made Damien understand that it was caleb’s way of interacting with friends. Although he could play videogames without any worry, he just had to join Dami

Anastasia walked confidently into her father’s office, her face glowing with pride as she placed a file on his desk. Harold looked at her with a raised brow, a hint of amusement in his eyes. He picked up the file and his expression changed as he saw the signature.“This is Princess Nasrin’s signature. We got the deal,” Anastasia declared with a satisfied smile.Paul who had been lounging casually on the couch, nearly fell over when he heard her words. He quickly reached for the file and reading through its contents, then looked up at Anastasia with genuinely stunned expressions. “This girl really got the deal?” he muttered in disbelief. Then, turning to her, he asked, “What did you offer them?”“Nothing. I used the contract you drafted,” she replied casually, “And just made them agree to the conditions as they were.”Paul’s curiosity deepened. “How did you do it?”Anastasia’s tone turned playfully accusing. “First, you left me out there to deal with the aftermath in case I failed and

Since Anastasia left the office early, she decided to surprise her husband by picking him up from work. First, she drove to a flower shop as she was searching for the perfect bouquet. Her eyes landed on a small and delicate arrangement of sunflowers. Suddenly, Damien's radiant smile flashed in her mind.He is like a sunflower, she thought, and without hesitation, she purchased the bouquet. Next, she swung by a coffee shop to grab him a nice drink, making sure to choose his favorite. With her gifts in basket, she drove to his office as her heart fluttering with anticipation. How would he react on seeing her there? Would he be happy? Would he feel special? All these things were going on in her mind. As she arrived, she flashed a bright smile at the receptionist. “I’m here to see Damien Callahan.”“Do you have an appointment?” the receptionist asked, raising an eyebrow. The other receptionist leaned in and whispered something in her ear, then turned to Anastasia, “This way, ma’am. For some reasons, he could sense that his wife wanted to stay more with her father. He did not know the reason behind it but it was fine. Whatever her goal was, he just hoped that she achieve it. She sighed. “I will need to go to Spencer Mansion twice a week to report on the progress.”He met her gaze, his tone firm. “I will come with you every time.”She hated going there. Anastasia stepped out of the banquet hall and found Regina sitting on a bench in the expansive garden of the Callahan mansion. Regina who was usually poised and sophisticated held a paper plate with a large slice of chocolate cake and was eating it with an unabashed delight that seemed out of character. For a moment, Anastasia simply stared at her but her curiosity was piqued by the rare sight.Regina’s gaze lifted and when she noticed Anastasia, she extended the plate with her used plastic fork. “Destiny was right. The birthday cake was awful, but this—” she gestured toward the cake with a satisfied sigh, “This tastes like heaven.”Anastasia raised an eyebrow.Regina grinned and said, “I walked an entire mile in these heels to get this cake from a bakery. The reviews didn’t lie. It’s worth every step.”Anastasia gaped. “You walked a mile? In those heels? Why didn’t you just tell Abel?”Regina shrugged nonchalantly. “I didn’t want to disturb him. He was with his friends. Besides, I ne

Regina replied softly, “I wish I could answer that.”Abel’s expression tightened as he whispered, “Claire isn’t your birth mother?”What on earth did he just see? Wait, she let him see this information? Did it mean, she really trust him with her life? Before he could get happy, she began saying. Regina shook her head. The DNA test had confirmed what she never imagined—Claire was not her birth mother. She didn’t know how to process it.She said, “The doctor told me there was a possibility I was adopted. Since I recently did a DNA test with my dad, I was certain that Harold is my biological father. All my life, Claire told me Harold wasn’t my father when they both knew the truth. Then suddenly, the doctor pointed out that with their blood types, they couldn’t have had a child with AB+. I was racking my brain, trying to figure it all out. Finally, I decided to test my DNA against the rest of my family.”Regina took a deep breath before continuing. “My DNA matched with my father... but,

After the cake-cutting ceremony, Regina stood far away from the crowd when a little girl approached her with a plate full of cake slices. The girl stopped near her and said, “Hello, this is for you.”Regina looked at the little princess, who had become the apple of everyone’s eye tonight. She crouched down to the girl’s level and said, “Thank you. Did you bring this for me?”Destiny turned around and pointed at Anastasia. “Anna asked me to give cake to everyone who didn’t get any.”Regina asked, “Did you give cake to everyone?”Destiny shook her head. “No, just you.”Regina chuckled. “Thank you.” She took the cake and bit into it. “Oh, it’s delicious.”Destiny made a face and said, “No, it’s not.” Leaning closer, she whispered in Regina’s ear, “My mommy makes cakes with real sugar and cream. This one has fake sugar and cream.”Regina laughed again. The cake was low-fat and low-sugar, but since she rarely had sugar or dairy, she didn’t notice the difference. She said, “I will try a rea

“Why is she here?” Anastasia asked, her voice low but sharp as her eyes fixed on Eleanor standing confidently in the hall. I will be on my best behaviour.”Though she wasn’t one to bow to others’ opinions, Anastasia had been making extra efforts lately. Damien’s family hadn’t fully warmed up to her, and for her husband’s sake, she was resolved to leave them with no reason to criticise. She wasn’t naturally a people-pleaser, but she knew that making peace with his relatives meant comfort for him and that mattered.Damien wrapped an arm around her, pulling her into a side hug. “My wife is always on her best behaviour. It is just other people who know how to get under her skin.”Anastasia smiled faintly, conceding, “You are not wrong.”He chuckled, then flagged down a
