Milana’s POV

I closed the door behind me, my hand trembling as it lingered on the handle for a moment longer than necessary. Sliding down to the floor, I let my back rest against the door, the cool surface grounding me as I struggled to process everything. My chest heaved with shallow breaths, and I pressed a hand to my mouth as though that could somehow contain the flood of emotions threatening to overwhelm me.

The room was quiet, but my mind was anything but. Every word, every look, every touch from Max replayed in my head like a whirlwind, leaving me disoriented. How had things escalated so quickly? How had I gone from a reluctant participant in this strange alliance to discovering that the man I couldn’t quite figure out was, in fact, my mate?

Cindy’s voice broke through my spiraling thoughts, her tone smug and filled with amusement. “You should be thrilled,” she said, her words dripping with a confidence I didn’t feel.

I groaned, tilting my head back against the door. “Thrilled?

The bond between us tugged at something primal within me, a strong pull that was maddening.I knew it was the Moon Goddess’ doing—this connection, this incessant, unyielding need to be near her. It coursed through me like a fever I couldn’t shake, burning at the edges of my resolve. But knowing its source didn’t make it any easier to bear. If anything, it only made it worse. Complicated didn’t even begin to describe the tangled mess of emotions that gripped me. Maximus’ POVThe sun bore down relentlessly as the warriors around me groaned in exhaustion, their breaths ragged and laboured. I heard them grumble, muttering about the intensity of today’s training. Usually, I would acknowledge their effort and give them a nod or a word of encouragement. Not today. Today, I pretended not to notice their complaints, pushing them harder as if, by sheer willpower, I could drown out the turmoil inside me.Their fatigue mirrored my own, though mine wasn’t physical. My conversation—or instead, argument—with Bastian earlier still echoed in my mind, his taunts and frustrations swirling in a maddening loop. It wasn’t as if he was wrong; his words had cut more baritone because they held a grain of truth. But I couldn’t let him dictate my actions, not when it came to Milana.“Push harder!” I barked, my voice carrying over the training grounds. The warriors flinched but obeyed, their movements sharp despite their evident weariness. My wolf growled in satisfacti

Milana’s POVAs I stepped into the training grounds, the morning air was cool against my skin. Max was already there, his imposing figure commanding attention. His stance was rigid, his expression unreadable, but the intensity in his eyes left no room for distraction.I steeled myself, shoving down the unease that always seemed to surface when he was near. There was no time for nerves, not today. Max’s serious demeanour left little room for anything but focus, and for that, I was grateful. His unrelenting instruction demanded every ounce of my attention, leaving no space for the awkward tension between us since we last spoke.“Positions!” Max’s voice rang out, cutting through the crisp morning air. As Max stepped to the centre, the warriors around me snapped into action, forming a semi-circle.“Pair up,” he commanded, his sharp gaze sweeping over the group. “Today, we focus on agility and precision. You’ll need both if you want to survive.”I was paired with one of the younger warrior

Milana’s POVThe moment hung heavy between us, silence filling the air as I finished my story. Max sat across from me, his piercing gaze locked onto mine, and for once, he didn’t interrupt. There was no judgment in his expression, only quiet understanding.“I was orphaned young,” I began, my voice low but steady. “No family, no allies. I have been treated as less than nothing from the moment I can remember. They called me a curse, a burden. And I believed them. I had no power, no strength, nothing to prove them wrong.”I forced myself to meet his eyes, daring him to find fault in my vulnerability. He didn’t flinch.“Magnus,” I continued, his name bitter on my tongue. “The future Alpha of my old pack. On my eighteenth birthday, I discovered he was my mate. The Moon Goddess tied us together. But he...he didn’t want me.”Max’s jaw tightened, but he remained silent.“I accepted it. I had to. Being rejected was painful, but what choice did I have? But Riana, my cousin—she couldn’t stand it

Milana’s POVThe words Max spoke hit me harder than I expected, and for a moment, I was frozen. My mind was racing, trying to understand everything he said. I couldn’t help but ask, my voice shaky, “Wait, are you telling me you want to send me away from here?”Max’s eyes softened, and he immediately shook his head. “No,” he said firmly, stepping closer. “I don’t want to send you away, Milana. I want to forget about the agreement we made. I don’t want this to be about a contract anymore, about a deal. I want you to be my true mate, not just someone I’m using to fulfill a promise.”His words left me breathless. I had anticipated many things, but this? This was unexpected. His sincerity was evident, and the intensity of his gaze made my heart race. Max's voice, thick with emotion, continued, “I can’t let you go, Milana. Not even after you’ve given me what I’ve asked for. I want you, all of you, to stay by my side. I want you to be mine in every way.”I could feel the weight of his words

Riana’s POVThe fire crackled in the hearth, casting flickering shadows across the room, but its warmth barely reached me. Inside, the cold rage I felt refused to thaw. My hands tightened around the edges of the wooden table, the rough texture grounding me as I leaned forward, narrowing my eyes at Hendry and Hera. The twins lounged casually in their chairs, calm, composed expressions almost mocking. Yet, beneath their nonchalant exteriors, I could see the slight tension in Hendry’s jaw and the way Hera’s fingers drummed lightly on the armrest. They knew me too well. They knew the storm was about to break.I took a deep breath, my glare unwavering as I stared them down. They had been with me through everything, my accomplices in every plan, every scheme. But this time, it wasn’t just their loyalty I needed. I needed results. “We have a problem,” I said, my voice sharp enough to cut through the crackling flames. “Magnus barely looks at me anymore, let alone speaks to me. This is all Mil

Riana’s POVThe sun had begun its slow descent beyond the horizon, painting the sky in hues of amber and crimson. I was still pacing the sitting room, my thoughts swirling chaotically after my earlier conversation with Hendry and Hera. The fire in the hearth burned low, casting long shadows across the walls. My mother’s arrival was as sudden as it was unwelcome."Riana, dear, what’s gotten into you? You’ve been so distracted lately." Her voice was soft and concerned, but I couldn’t ignore the edge of suspicion in her tone. She set her bag down by the door and walked toward me, her sharp eyes scanning my face.I hesitated for a moment, unsure how much to reveal. Then, almost instinctively, I asked, "Where’s Father?"Her brow furrowed at the abruptness of my question. "He’s at the training camp," she replied, overseeing me. "Why? Is there something wrong?"I bit my lip, debating how to proceed. My mother was perceptive, far too perceptive for my liking. She stepped closer, her expressio

Milana’s POVThe room was quiet, dimly lit by the soft glow of the bedside lamp. I lay sprawled across the plush mattress, staring up at the ceiling. Memories danced in my mind, vivid and tantalizing. It was always the same—those nights when Max and I had been lost in each other, tangled in passion. My lips curled into a small smile as I recalled the way he had whispered my name, his touch igniting a fire that burned hotter than anything I’d ever known.Max had a way of making me feel alive, as if the world outside didn’t matter. He could tease me with a single glance, a mischievous smile that sent my heart racing. He always knew what to say, what to do, to strip away any resistance I might have. He was magnetic, and I was powerless to resist him.But tonight was different. The memories weren’t enough to distract me from the heaviness in my body. For days now, I’d felt unusually fatigued. My energy was sapped, and I spent more time lying in bed than doing anything productive. Even the

Riana’s POVThe pain from the lashes still burned across my back, each movement sending fresh waves of agony through my body. The wounds throbbed beneath the thin fabric of my dress, a constant, searing reminder of the public humiliation I had endured. But worse than the physical pain was the sting of their judgment. Their whispers followed me like shadows, hissing insults and mocking my fall from grace. I could feel their eyes on me, sharp and cold, as if their gazes alone could strip me of whatever dignity I had left.I moved cautiously through the packhouse, every step a test of my resilience. My body ached with every breath, my pride bleeding as heavily as my wounds. I kept my head high, but it was a façade—one that threatened to crumble under the weight of their ridicule. They had once envied me, admired me, sought to be me. Now, they watched with satisfaction as I suffered, their hatred palpable and unrelenting.Memories of who I used to be haunted me with every passing moment.

Riana’s POVThe sharp, throbbing ache coursing through my body was the first thing I felt as I stirred from unconsciousness. My eyelids fluttered open, heavy and uncooperative, as I struggled to make sense of my surroundings. The familiar warmth and scent of my room greeted me, but the comfort it once brought felt distant and hollow. Every part of me hurt, like I had been ripped apart and pieced back together with trembling hands.A voice called my name, soft and trembling with worry. My head turned toward the sound, and I saw my mother standing by the bed, her face pale and streaked with tears. Her lips quivered as she tried to smile, but the sorrow in her eyes betrayed her. My father stood beside her, his usual commanding presence dimmed, his shoulders sagging under the weight of something unspeakable. The air in the room was heavy with grief, suffocating in its intensity.“Riana, my love,” my mother whispered, her voice breaking. She reached out, brushing a strand of hair from my d

The air between us burned with unspoken fury, thick with Magnus’s rage as he loomed over me, his face contorted in disdain.“You’re the source of all this chaos, Riana,” he spat, his voice venomous. “None of this would’ve happened if I hadn’t listened to you. You’ve ruined everything—my reputation, my future, my place in the pack. All of it!”I pressed my trembling hand against my stinging cheek, glaring up at him through tear-filled eyes. “Don’t act like this is all my fault, Magnus!” I shot back, my voice trembling but defiant. “You made your choices too. This wasn’t just me.”Magnus’s hand shot out, gripping my chin with brutal force and tilting my face toward him. His eyes burned with a mix of fury and frustration, his lips curling

Riana's POVThe oppressive silence of the grand hall weighed down on me as I stood beside Magnus. My heart pounded, a mixture of indignation and unease twisting in my chest. This wasn’t how things were supposed to go. This wasn’t supposed to happen to me.The twelve elders sat in a perfect circle at the center of the room, draped in black robes that concealed their faces. Their mere presence radiated authority, making it hard to breathe. I swallowed hard, trying to maintain my composure as their eyes—or what I imagined were their eyes—bore into us."Magnus Hale and Riana Devereaux," one of them began, his voice a low rumble that reverberated through the hall. "Your recent actions have brought disgrace to this pack."I bristled at his words, my spine straightening as a surge of indignation coursed through me. Disgrace? The word echoed in my mind, fueling the fire of my growing frustration. How could defending myself, standing my ground, be seen as disgraceful? My nails dug into my palm

His hand brushed lightly against my arm as if to ensure I was still in one piece. "Are you okay?" he asked, his deep voice laced with concern.I nodded, brushing a loose strand of hair from my face. "I'm fine, Max. Really," I assured him. My voice was steady, though my adrenaline was still coursing through me. I didn't miss the way his jaw tightened, a muscle ticking as he silently assessed the situation."Milana, you went too far," Magnus's voice cut through the tension. His tone carried both frustration and something else-something almost desperate. He stood next to Riana, who was leaning against him, her face pale and her once-polished appearance now a shadow of its former glory.I raised an eyebrow at him, my lips curving into a smirk. "Did I? Last I checked, she was the one who attacked me first." My voice was calm, yet laced with enough veno

  • Contract Love With Alpha   Chapter 79 : Attack

Milana’s POVThe shrill pitch of Riana’s scream cut through the tranquil garden like a blade, drawing every pair of eyes in our direction. Whispers and murmurs rippled through the crowd as they turned to watch the spectacle unfolding before them. I didn’t flinch or falter, my gaze fixed on her as she stomped toward me with fury etched across her delicate, arrogant features. Riana always carried herself as if she were the center of the universe, her confidence built on years of entitlement and manipulation. With her perfectly styled updo and designer gown clinging to her every curve, she looked every bit the queen of her own delusional world. But to me, she was nothing more than a thorn—a nuisance that pricked but never truly hurt. Her sense of superiority had always grated on me, but tonight, I welcomed it. She had made her move, and I wasn’t about to back down. Her voice trembled with rage as she screamed again, calling me names and throwing accusations that barely registered in my m

Milana’s POVThe evening air in the garden was cool, carrying the faint scent of blooming roses. I turned at the sound of approaching footsteps, expecting perhaps Daisy again. Instead, my breath hitched. Standing there, bathed in the silvery glow of the moonlight, were two men I knew all too well—Lewis and Magnus.A chill crept up my spine as my gaze locked on them, though I quickly masked it with a cold glare. Of all the people I could have encountered tonight, these two were the last I wanted to see. The weight of their presence was suffocating, like a shadow stretching across the moonlit garden.Lewis’s sharp eyes raked over me, dissecting me with a look that felt invasive, as though he could uncover every thought in my mind. There was something unnerving about the way he stared—intense, calculating, as if I were a puzzle he desperately wanted to solve. His demeanor was far from warm or fatherly, despite his earlier claims of being my blood. Instead, it was laced with a possessiven

Milana’s POVThe soft glow of the vanity lights reflected off the delicate silver necklace clasped around my neck as I adjusted it one last time. Max stood behind me, his towering presence as steady and commanding as ever, watching me through the mirror with an approving gaze."You look perfect," he said simply, his voice carrying that effortless authority that always made my chest tighten.I turned slightly, letting the soft fabric of the emerald gown cascade around me. The rich green hue complemented my skin tone perfectly, bringing out the subtle warmth in my complexion. Max had chosen it with his usual impeccable taste—fitted at the waist to accentuate my figure, while the skirt flowed down in a cascade of silky folds, brushing lightly against the floor. The neckline was modest yet alluring, with just enough to hint at elegance without being overly revealing. Every detail of the dress was designed to make a statement, from the intricate stitching to the delicate shimmer that caugh
