Eric-
I had moved to the bedroom, to wait for her to be finished, so I could take a shower myself. Seeing her in a black nightgown that was, rather revealing, I thought I was about to have my heart jump out of my chest. I don’t remember buying that for her, so I was sure she got it from some of the clothes Brook had given her.
Either way, I knew I was royally fucked right now. The idea of just sleeping next to her was going to be a lot more difficult than I could imagine. Seeing her in a short, black, thin gown was already driving me insane with pure unadulterated lust.
If she bent over, I was almost completely sure that I would get a full view of her behind, possibly even more. How in the hell was I supposed to survive the night laying next to her, when she looked like sex in all its glory? The sexiest thing of it all was, that she didn’t seem to have the slightest clue what she did to me.
In fact, she seemed completely oblivious that I was s
Leilani-Whatever possessed me to kiss him was beyond me. One minute I was sleeping, having a good dream, I might add. I had been dreaming of a black wolf, that was so beautiful and majestic. It had said something to me, although I couldn’t remember what it had said. All I knew was I woke up with this intense desire to kiss him. I tried to resist it, except the more I did the harder it became. The second his lips touched mine, it was like I was transported into another time and place. My mind completely went blank and instead of being in the moment with Eric, I was standing next to a fire. I tried to turn my head to look around, except I had no control over my movements.I started to feel hot, extremely hot, almost as if I was being burned. The pain started at my ankles, growing hotter by the second. A scream pierced through the wind, making it sound as if someone was screaming right next to me.Then I realized it was me who was screaming, ex
Leilani-It was just after nine in the morning when we got back on the road. Eric has been trying to make small talk with me for the past few hours, since waking up. It wasn’t that I minded talking to him, I was just distracted by what happened last night.Still, after running everything through my head, I wasn’t sure what had occurred. From the moment I met Eric, my world has been spiraling out of control. Before I left my old pack, it wasn’t the greatest, but at least I knew what to expect.“If we get some time after we pick this guy up, I would like to take you to see the ocean. There is a pack near the coast that I think we can talk to. They know a coven of witches that aren’t far from them.” Eric spoke, bringing me out of my jumbled thoughts for a moment.“Why don’t witches and wolves get along anymore?” I asked, completely ignoring what he had said.I knew it was a long shot, but I had a f
Leilani-After washing my hands, once I was done using the restroom, I walked around the gas station a bit. Technically this was my first time ever going inside a gas station. It was fairly cool that they had a variety of different things inside the store.Figuring I was just wasting time and Eric was probably waiting on me, I left the store. The second I stepped outside a chill fell over me. It wasn’t even cold outside, so I wasn’t sure why I suddenly felt chilly. Once again, I had this urge to turn around, but I brushed it off so I could return to the car.I could see Eric’s car from here. It wasn’t that far away, but I still had this nagging feeling I needed to go back inside. It didn’t appear that Eric was back at the car, but I continued so I could wait for him.I didn’t see him anywhere, nor did I see the vehicle the warrior brought. Picking up my pace I quickly made my way to the car. When I tried to open the doo
Leilani-Panic began to fill me as they moved closer to me. Why had I listened to that voice? This was going to end badly for me, I just knew it.The first man that reached me, made a grab for me, but I quickly jumped back. The weirdest part of it all, I didn’t realize I could move that fast. A sense of knowledge filled me, miraculously giving me the know-how on how to fight. It didn’t seem like a lot, but I hoped it was enough to handle this situation. This time a second man joined the first one, both lunging forward to grab me. As if my body had a mind of its own, I spun around, while extending my leg out.I felt my foot connect with two objects. Since I was too shocked by what just transpired, I hadn’t been paying close attention to where my leg was moving. When I turned back around, I saw both men were holding their noses.Had I really kicked them in their nose? They weren’t very tall, nothing like Eric anyway, but I was
Leilani-“Are you there?” I asked aloud, forgetting I could talk to my wolf in my head.“Yes, I am.” She replied, giving me a sense that she was smiling.“What is your name?” I asked.Bringing my legs onto the seat, I sat cross-legged, while turning to keep an eye on Eric. I wasn’t sure what I could do for him, since no one else seemed concerned about it. I learned about wolfbane in school, but not how to treat it.“Violet.”I echoed her name in my mind a few times, thinking it was a beautiful name. It was also the color of my eyes, which seemed fitting. Thinking of my next question, I began to play with the ends of my hair.“Why are you just now coming out? I thought I was cursed. You being here doesn’t make any sense.” I twirled my hair around the tip of my index finger as I waited for her to reply.“With any magic, nothing is what it seems. I was t
Leilani- Arriving at the pack, we were greeted by the Alpha himself. He was around Eric’s age and they seemed to be good friends. I wasn’t sure what to think about him, since he kept glancing at me as if he were trying to figure me out. “Oh, by the way, this is Leilani, the girl I was telling you about.” Eric said halfway through their conversation about how long it has been since they saw each other last. I hadn’t even realized he hadn’t introduced me, but the moment he did the expression on the Alpha’s face changed. As if recognition hit him, his eyes widened in surprise as a large smile appeared on his face. He was a handsome guy, but not in the way Eric was. “It is nice to finally meet you. You can call me Kellan.” Kellan held out his hand to me, but I just looked at it as if it were a foreign object. Slowly he pulled back his hand and his smile faded slightly. I hadn’t meant to offend him, I just didn’t like the way he had been staring at me. It wa
Eric-When we left Kellan’s place, we headed back to Black Fang. Instead of stopping anywhere, we drove straight through. The entire drive, Leilani wouldn’t say a word.Every time I had asked a question, she would just shrug. We were just about to pull into the garage, and I was getting frustrated. What happened in California had to have bothered her, I know it did me.I hated that she wasn’t talking to me since I knew whatever she was thinking about was weighing heavy on her mind. Pulling into the garage, I parked the car and turned off the engine. Neither of us made an attempt to get out of the car.“Do you want to talk about it?” I asked, turning towards her so I could see her better.Once again, she shrugged, which only pissed me off. It wasn’t that I was even mad at her, I was mad at what she has been through to cause her to be like this. With a heavy sigh, I got out of the car.I didn’t wait fo
Leilani-I had thought I could get into my room undetected. When Tate had come up behind me, he scared the living daylights out of me. At first, I had thought it had been Eric and he had caught me when I had been eavesdropping on his conversation with the Luna.Luckily it had only been Tate, who had wanted to make me an official member of the pack. After I accepted the pack as my own, he went on his way, leaving me alone. Not wanting Eric to find me, I made my way to my room and closed myself in.My heart felt like it was beating a million beats a second. I couldn’t believe what I had heard. Brook was basically telling Eric to just sign a contract with me and wait for things to work out. I remember what his reason was for wanting to sign the contract, but now it was different. Was I merely a means to an end for him? Was it really a mess that he had a contract with me? And what did she mean for him to face the music? Pacing in my room, I froze when I
I wanted to thank you all for your support over these months. I haven't decided if I am going to do another book in the Contract series, but I will be working on other books that I hope you all love. I have another book called Alpha Ryker that I will be focusing on this summer. It will be different than my typical stuff, but I am excited to write it. If you enjoy apocalyptic romance, I hope you will check out Alpha Ryker. Just like all my werewolf romance books, I try to bring a twist to them to make them different from the typical stories. The book has already started, and I will be focusing on that book next. Thank you again for all of your support. I would love to hear what you think of this book, so I may improve my writing. Best wishes, Raelyn Karson
Brooklyn- I couldn’t believe it. It has been five years since that fateful night with Mavis. Nearly six since when I first met my mate, Tate. Looking back on everything that has happened over the years, I couldn’t be more grateful for how far we have all come. When I first came to the Black Fang pack, I never would have imagined that I would be happy, with two daughters, a son on the way, a loving mate, a pack, and a family that I loved with all of my heart. Since the night with Mavis, the program I had created had taken off without a hitch. With Leilani’s help, we were able to track down everyone that needed our help and even find homes for everyone. We had to deal with a few trouble packs, but once again Black Fang banded together to take them on. Now my father was getting ready to step down as the Alpha King and he had named Eric as the new Alpha King. I couldn’t be happier for Eric, since I know he is going to be the best for the job. It helps that he has a kick-ass mate, who m
Leilani-Breaking the hex on the door, I walked in and saw the other half of my soul standing next to the bed. She gave me a soft smile, which looked both sad and knowing. Before I could say anything, she began speaking.“If we do this, there is no going back. If death comes to us, it will be forever. Are you sure you want to do this?” She asked.“You know this is our only chance. Even if we redo the cycle, it still won’t be enough. Spending as much time as I did with the other versions of me, they still didn’t reach their full potential. There is no guarantee that if I come back that I will find a way to defeat her. How long must we continue in this cycle if I need to become complete to defeat her?”I don’t know why I just didn’t agree to this from the start. Was it out of fear or something else? It didn’t really matter now though. I knew now that it was our only real chance of defeating her. Even if I died, I could hopefully bring Mavis down with me.“Very well, then we will live ou
Leilani-In absolute horror, I stood there as Archer moved toward me. I could feel it through our bond that he was going to attack me. It was in that instant I realized why Mavis kept looking over at him.“You need to fight it!” I yelled at Archer, pleading with him.It was foolish of me to think I could take on Mavis with extraordinarily little time to learn centuries of magic. I had played directly into her hand. Now she had somehow managed to take control of Archer. There was no way I could fight him. The last thing I wanted to do was kill him or even hurt him. I could tell he was struggling against the hold she had on him, but I was starting to feel that he was slipping away from me.“Fight!” I screamed at the top of my lungs. He didn’t respond, which I didn’t think he could at this point. I could feel our bond, but it felt wrong, tainted. Just then I felt Eric’s arms come around me and I was lifted off the ground.“You can’t reach him anymore. We need to get out of here.” He said
Leilani-“Are you ready?” I asked Archer, who was now in his dragon form.“I will follow you anywhere.” He spoke into my mind.Knowing I couldn’t push the time anymore, I transported Archer and I through the threshold that divided the two realities. I trusted Jarod to join us when he was ready, he had left to get Delilah and any other help he could. It wasn’t that I wasn’t confident I could take Mavis on now, but we all agreed we needed as much help as possible.“Release them.” I yelled out to Mavis. For the past ten minutes, I have been watching everything play out. It had taken everything I had not to just appear sooner. Just as Eric suggested though, I used every second I could until I could no longer wait.I was on the other side of the group of pack members, opposite the packhouse. I couldn’t let Mavis know what Archer looked like in his human form just in case this went south. Where we were now, it was the only area large enough, that was close to them, that allowed Archer to be
Eric-With everything I possessed, I had to try to keep Desmond at bay. He was ready to come out and rip out Mavis’s throat, for forcing herself on me and kissing me. I had been able to push her off, but she was trying to do it again. If I didn’t know that she would kill us if my wolf attacked her, I probably would have let him out. I didn’t stand a chance against a witch as powerful as Mavis, or any witch for that matter. Unlike Leilani, I wasn’t anything special like that.“I don’t care how much you try. I will never be with you.” I gritted out, doing my best to keep her lips from touching mine again.“You know I can force you right?” She whispered, just before I felt the slickness of her tongue as it ran along the base of my neck.It felt like pins and needles were being dragged across my skin. Just her touching me like this made me feel ill. I just hope that Leilani couldn’t see this and that she was once again in her meditation.I had hated leaving her as I had. Jarod had gotten
Leilani-“Come on, I know you are wanting to get this done, but you need to snap out of it.” I heard Archer’s voice in my mind.It wasn’t the first time he has tried to get me to come out of my trance, but I have been ignoring him. He was right, I was trying to get this done. I know I already missed the first six hour break I was supposed to do, but I was doing well right now.Unlike the first time I did this, I knew what I was doing now. I have learned so much more and I felt completely fine. If anything, I felt as if I was fully rested and full of energy.“Eric is here.” Archer’s words hit like a brick wall.Okay, I don’t know if he was just saying it to get me to come out of it, but whatever the case was, it worked. Snapping out of my state of mind, I looked around the room and Eric was indeed sitting on the couch. It almost seemed as if he were looking at me, but I knew he couldn’t be.“I was wondering when you were going to come out of it.” Eric’s voice was like music to my ears.
Leilani- I spent an hour looking for Jarod. Even going as far as trying a locator spell, I produced nothing. I didn’t think I did the spell wrong, since I tried again with Eric. I also had Archer leave to go to the field of flowers, so I could try on him as well. Jarod was the only one I couldn’t locate. It was as if he was wiped out of existence all together. Continuing to look around the house, I looked for a sign or something of what could have happened to him. The longer this took, the more valuable time I was losing. “I found something.” Archer said from across the room. Moving to his side, he handed me a folded piece of paper with my name on it. Opening the paper, I noticed it was a note from Jarod. Hoping it would tell me where he was, I began to read the letter aloud. “I am guessing if you found this letter, then I was trapped inside the room. If that is the case, I am going to need you to let me out. I have cracked the code on the hex, but I have a suspicion that I am not
Leilani-I wasn’t ready yet. She couldn’t be here already, there was still so much I needed to learn first. I thought I had more time.“That was quite the show. I especially enjoyed watching you two fucking like bunnies in there. I find it exciting to know that my dear sister might be carrying your child and once again I will be taking away her hopes of a family. It is perfect really, considering that it all started this way.” Mavis laughed as she continued to clap.Petrified by her being here, all I could think about was everyone else that could be in danger now. I had hoped I would be able to face her alone, because she could seriously hurt or even kill everyone else that tried anything against her. What if someone walked out and saw her? They might get it in their mind to attack. Then there was Archer, who might decide to show her who he was and then he might be in worse danger than he should be. This was not good at all.At hearing her words, I wondered if it was possible if my ac
