Chapter 83 – Together Together

(Aiden’s POV)

“Oh, my God!”

Sasha squealed when I told her the news about Jessamine, and then there was a pause.

“Yeah,” I muttered in a low voice while watching Charlie sniffing on the plants in the apartment’s small backyard. “She’s two months pregnant,” I added, looking heavenward as if it would do miracles for me.

“Oh, my… Adam, I’m sorry.” The excitement was replaced with shock. There was her pause again, but it was longer than the first time.

Charlie whimpered, his head on the apartment, wanting to enter the porch, but I shook my head.

“Nope. Do your thing, buddy, then we’ll get inside,” I said, holding his leash tighter when he attempted to run.

I was glad Bluetooth buds were invented. At least I didn’t have to hold my phone to my ear to talk to Sasha while I walked Charlie out. I glanced through the open main door, seeing them laughing at Mr. Douglas as he continued his argument about our weird neighbor, changing his theory from aliens to vampires because of how they dressed.
