CASSANDRA'S POVI navigated through the maze like forest, my senses alert to every sound and movement. As I found myself embarking on a mysterious journey, going by what I had read in the book. The necklace possessed ancient powers and according to the book, the necklace was hidden within the depths of the dark forest. And I thought, dark forest? I'd never been to a dark forest and that of course made me believe that was probably where the answers to my questions were. So I ventured into the forest, the trees towered over me like sentinels guarding a well kept secret. As I ventured deeper into the heart of the dark forest, fear threatening to grip my chest at the unpredictability of the environment, a sense of enchantment surrounded me, and it was nothing more than a dark enchantment, overwhelming me...I could feel the shadows brushing against my skin as though they were observing me. My breath hitched as I continued to shuffle along the path of the forest. I watched the shadows float
CASSANDRA'S POV" Do you want me to stay with you?" Alder asked worriedly and I rubbed my plan on his cheeks." I don't want to disturb you. You must have a lot of things on your hands." I gave him a small smile and he nuzzled my hand with his nose." I'm not too busy for you, My Queen. I would leave everything in a heartbeat for you." " I know. And so will I." His hands rubbed the base of my neck and he pulled me into a deep kiss.He broke the kiss and his eyes glazed over " I've told the guys to wrap things up and we'll continue tomorrow." He moved away from me and pulled off his clothing before lying on the bed next to me.Our naked bodies were flushed against each other and he absentmindedly stroked the side of my hips " Will you tell me what your nightmare was about?" His lips said against my neck and my body suddenly turned hot." I was in this weird cottage…similar to that old woman's…but it wasn't her…and she was telling me about the necklace…"" What did she say?" He raised
CASSANDRA'S POVThere were so many things on my head at the moment, as I was caught between searching for the necklace and just letting it be. It took three days for the ache in my head to stop. What had happened yesterday was still embedded in my head and I didn't want anything like it to happen ever again. I glanced at the necklace, the way the crystal glowed and how the clouds within it flowed. I'd never seen it do anything like that before. I stalled towards it with furrowed brows. I was getting terrified, the necklace was beginning to scare the lights out of me. I couldn't even wear it but then...I glanced at the mirror beside it and it seemed to wave. I shook my head before looking at the mirror again, but it was normal. It was probably just my head. My eyes met with the ones in the mirror, and the longer I stared at myself, the more I noticed something strange. Why was I looking do different from...my eyes were e glary, almost like a blaze of fire in them, I could see the fier
ALDER'S POVI couldn't believe that I'd allowed myself to get tricked. I loved Cassandra so much I didn't want her to keep on going through all these. My approach was careless. There were moments when I would notice a glimpse of her eyes reflecting through that of her Lycan. It made me wonder though, when did all these happen. Why was it happening. The necklace obviously meant something, obviously had something to do with something quite sacred. I was terribly hurt at the moment, and when I noticed that was wasn't healing in any way, I just knew that I was poisoned. Why would anyone or anything possess her? What was the mystery behind that necklace. I couldn't help but think that there was something she was hiding from me.The old woman had claimed that there was a book behind all these, but we still hadn't found the book. I noticed she was no longer making any attempt to search for the book and that got me even more suspicious. El and I hadn't been quite driven to know what the book
JULIUS' POV The old witch stood in front of the mirror, adjusting her gloves as her hands trembled. The shadows waved around her like puppies clinging to their master. After centuries of waiting for this day , the coven had always brought me discomfort, causing me to contemplate my whole existence. I was a cursed being, ethereal and ephemeral. All the deals were made by the council if I did not fulfill the oath. I was that desperate. I had to be desperate or there would be no drive for me. Being in this sort of position was something I never imagined to be. The coven wanted more than I had to offer. Like a leech they clung to my body and whispered in my ears even while I was yet in my grave. I had to succumb to their wish, the penalty for not being able to do so was one I didn't want to ever experience. The ordeal sight of it got me trembling, especially after seeing others who had failed to fulfill their oath. This is the reason I had to do what I had to do. And to do it with force.
JULIUS' POVI stalked towards him whilst he moved backwards. He continued to step back till he sat on the bed, still staring upwards at me."I thought you were not okay." "The pain disappeared a couple of minutes ago. And I didn't want to be alone." I said moving towards him till he was laying on the bed and I was a top him. He raised his hand and I smirked, that's right, once he touches me, I'll be able to sleep with him. His fingers brushed a ringlet out of my face before sticking it behind my ear. Then his fingers caressed my face. I bit my lip."I need you Alder." He caressed my cheeks, looking me in the eyes before taking my hair and packing it into a ponytail. He pulled me down so he was a top me. Then he leaned down to kiss me. His lips touched my neck and my back arched. He kissed my lips twirling his tongue with mine, positions him self on top of me. His hand ran under my shirt and cupped my breast. I bit my lips at the feeling. I had to remind myself that I was doing this t
CASSANDRA'S POV Awoke from my slumber, my head pounding so hard I groaned loudly. I struggled to get out of my bed and stumbled backwards still i was sitting on my bed again. I clenched my jaw and looked at the necklace that clung to my chest like a second skin. I rose from the bed and gently walked towards the door... because I could barely see where I was going. My senses heightened, and I just knew there was something wrong. Heading towards Alder's room, I barged in without thinking to see if he was in, but he wasn't. My eyes were on the curtains, and they all of a sudden looked different. Wait a moment, I'd lived here and stayed in this room for a good number of years, why the fuck was everything looking so different? Why did I feel like he was hiding something from me? I squinted my eyes at the curtains. Moving slightly due to the gentle breeze. The ache began again as I was beginning to think too much. The ache began and everything suddenly went dark. Another round of voices in
CASSANDRA'S POVI stood there, stunned at her confession. Die? If this necklace got broken, we were both going to die? I glanced down at the necklace and then at then the one on her neck. I knew what was happening here. I was the exact replica of her, so if one of us was wearing something as sacred as this necklace, then we both had to be wearing it. And as long as this necklace was on us both, anything that happened to her happened to me, if I died, then she was going to die. I saw red as I growled and looked up at her. She caused this, if she had not forced me to wear this necklace then I would be completely normal. I noticed that Alder was staring at me strangely, but I really didn't care at the moment. All I cared about was placing this lady they called Julius in her place. The lady that barged into my life like it was hers. I hated it! Now we were connected, something I never wanted to be with her. I had my own life, my own identity, and I had swooped in, and taken it all away fr
EL'S POVCassandra had been quite helpful to me which I couldn't be more grateful for. But the nightmares kept on coming causing a lot of issues for me. Now I'd thought my parents had been killed unjustly but could it be that there was more behind the story than I thought? Why was I seeing my parents giving souls to unknown figures? Why did it seem like they were ready to sell themselves away without even considering the consequences? My eyes widened, these souls were two, and I could tell mine was excluded. Why would they give out the soul of their children selling them off to ancient figures. They knew they price they were going to pay for it and that was what they paid for, and they paid with their lives. Now my siblings were missing. I just knew, I knew that I could find them.. In the darkness of the night and the isolated land of my dream, I unraveled the twisted threads of my family's enigmatic past. The nightmares haunted my every waking moment, pushing me to dig deeper into t
CASSANDRA'S POVI know that El had been going through a lot lately and it started from that night when she saw the book. And now it seemed as though there was more to what was happening than just the illness that befell her. And then the curse, the dream that she had. I sighed as she explained she'd been seeing so many things these days and I was trying to understand what it was that she was going through. "Seeing things, like what?" I asked."Like that same dream I had. I don't know why I keep having images of you or Julius getting killed. I mean is there something I don't know? Is something after you guys? Are you running away from something? So many things had changed since the day you found this necklace. A lot more changed since the day you found this book."Her voice trembled as she tried to talk about what she saw and I knew that it must have been shocking, I I moved towards her and held her hand, cause I knew I was certainly going to see what happened... then the terrible ima
JULIUS' POV Sabastian revealed himself from behind Alaric and I took a step back while Alaric, sensing him shielded him from me even though he was unfazed. "I see you two are finally enjoined.""What do you want Sabastian?" I asked."Oh, nothing much, just came to remind you of the oath you made. And you know it has consequences." Sabastian said, and I just knew I couldn't get off his grip easily. As Sabastian's words hung in the air, a shiver ran down my spine. I knew exactly what he was referring to - the oath I had made in a moment of desperation, when I thought it was the only way to save someone dear to me. But little did I know then, the grave consequences it would bring. My mind raced, desperately searching for a way out of this predicament. I couldn't let Sabastian have his way. There had to be a solution, a way to break free from his grip and nullify the oath. But it seemed like an impossible task.Alaric, still shielding Sabastian from me, glanced at me with concern in hi
JULIUS'S POV I found myself back in the past, back to when I was discussing with Alaric. His eyes were teary and it seemed as though I was yelling at him to leave me alone and that I didn't love him but Sabastian. The glimpse of these memories kept coming to me and the times when I chased Sabastian and he just made my life a living hell. All these was erased from my memory? Then I saw the part where I kissed Alaric. I was obviously heart broken because Sabastian didn't treat me well. Alaric always stood by me and always called to me. He never once let me go. The tears rushed down from my eyes because of the pain I went through being with Sabastian. In the depths of my mind, memories long buried stirred like whispers carried by the wind. They danced on the fringes of my consciousness, elusive yet relentless. And as the echoes of the past grew louder, I found myself caught in a swirling vortex of emotions. This was a time of love and heartache, a delicate balance between two souls. Sa
JULIUS' POV "There are so many mysteries poppinv out of no where's these days. I'm starting to think which one would we figure out?" Cassandra had heard about the news by me. And she wasn't wrong. There were indeed many mysteries. "Can you remember any instance where you both encountered?" I shook my head at her question. This vampire was new to me in every way. I wasn't even sure whether what he was saying was the truth.I stood at the mirror side, contemplating while Cassandra was pacing the room trying to think of probably what to do."Do you think he holds the mysteries to somethings? Perhaps he knows some truth about a matter. Would you try to find out?" She questioned and I contemplated. I wasn't so sure about that. Cassandra paced the room, her mind filled with questions and possibilities. The mention of encountering mysteries with this vampire sparked her curiosity even further. I could feel what she was feeling, could hear what she was thinking. She couldn't help but wonder
JULIUS' POV I made my way under the tree branches and away from the sun, contemplating about could happen next and how possible I would be able to tackle it. The moon was out now and the weather caused me to breathe, but then I feared for Cassandra and her family. The doubts that suddenly threatened to consume me these days wasn't helping the situation at hand at all. Some times I just wished I would be ordinary, while living an ordinary life, with nobody's intervention into my affairs. Without having to worry every second of the day. I stared at the moon a little to long because without even knowing I'd stepped into another realm. This realm was one of power, magic, fortune, but absolute no peace or remorse from them. The funny thing was, I'd been introduced to something like this before by the moon goddess, and had no idea what it was that she was trying to show me. This camp...magic existed, power existed, fortune existed, but no remorse nor peace. Then something in my mind clicke
CASSANDRA'S POVThe pain shot through my bone, causing me to jerk. And even though Alder was here with me I just couldn't get any relief, the pain and heat was all over even worse than my heat. Alder brought me close to himself and even though I wanted to snap, his scent didn't permit me to, instead it made me calm.As Alder held me close, his strong arms enveloping me, I could feel the tension slowly starting to melt away. His comforting embrace seemed to create a protective barrier around me, shielding me from the unbearable pain that had engulfed my body. His head was buried in my neck and I couldn't help but moan at the feeling of his lips touching it. I pulled him closer, not wanting him to let go, not even for a moment, and that made me wonder if I was really in pain or in heat. I was perplexed but didn't really have the time to think about it because of the profound pain. Alder's presence alone was a soothing balm to my troubled mind. With every breath, his familiar scent, a b
CASSANDRA'S POV I paced the room whilst Cassandra kept staring at me with concern. My thoughts were running wild, mind was still unable to comprehend what was going to happen next. All I knew was that things were beginning to escalate. I was beginning to suspect Sabastian, he was definitely one of those who were after the necklace. I continued to contemplate, because I couldn't predict what could possibly happen next... "Perhaps there's a way around all of these. We can't keep sitting while there's something out there threatening to attack us." Cassandra said. "I was considering something...the vampires are yet to reveal themselves. Do you think there's something fishy about that?" "We all know that there's something tricky with them. They're cunning and wouldn't act upon their intentions unless the time is right." I stated. "Perhaps I can write the story." "No, you can't. I've written it already, so there's no need for that." Her words struck a chord with me. She was right; we
JULIUS' POV I squinted my eyes as I noticed a figure from the distance through the window. Perplexed, I didn't know we were expecting any visitors, or perhaps it was one of the members of the pack? As the figure got closer this house I noticed the familiarity of it and was caught by surprise at the revelation that dawned upon me. Morgana had really outdone herself, bringing the dead back to life, ascertaining that her intentions are being executed. The figure I was seeing was nobody else other than Kathrine, and my eyes automatically shifted to Sabastian's. It was intended, he had called her here, he had given her that permission. And from what I was witnessing, she had a flesh, no longer a shadow standing in the dark. Now she was the person she used to be before she died. And I knew what she wanted, I knew what she was after too. My necklace. I stumbled backwards slightly at the profound feeling of the shock that was about to overwhelm me. I didn't even have the time to focus on Sab
