Chapter 17 Murong Xue's Mysterious Master?

The Murong Family's dining room and kitchen were separated by a wall. And the dining room was also separated from the living room. The layout was a little retro.

Murong Fenghua and Zhang Keren were sitting at the dining table when Murong Xue arrived at the dining room. A maid and a servant in their forties were sitting at the other side of the table. They were Ms. Wu and Mr. Zhang. They had been working for the Murong Family for a long time and doing their jobs diligently. Ms. Wu was in charge of the domestic chores and other maids. And Mr. Zhang was in charge of security. Murong Fenghua and Zhang Keren always treated them as family members. They never treated them as servants. Therefore, they ate together.

She was full of herself and told her parents that she didn’t want to dine with the servants which made Murong Fenghua furious and Zhang Keren unhappy.

Xiao Keli kept comforting her and suggested taking her to someplace to relax. However, Xiao Keli took her to a famous pub in A province where she got dead drunk with a bunch of silver-spoon kids. The next day, the newspaper gave a large page to her story with a sarcastic title saying Miss Murong's messy private life. A photo of her dead drunk was printed below the title. Although her father suppressed the news, she had already become a laughingstock in the select society.

Hence, when she cut ties with her family to be with Fang Shihua, the Fang Family refused to accept her. Fang Shihua's father forbade her to set foot in the Fang Family's mansion. And Fang Shihua just let her stay in the villa. Her reputation became worse since that. People said things like Miss Murong was so cheap that she was willing to be a kept woman and live in the Fang Family’s villa. Her parents tried every means to persuade her to come back. Not only did she not listen to them, but she also accused her parents of trying to separate her and Fang Shihua. Her parents were beyond mad. And then they hardly talked. However, Ms. Wu and Mr. Zhang were never mad at her. They even tried to convince her parents that it was their fault and asked her parents not to blame her.

She must cherish those people who were nice to her since she got a second chance.

"Eldest Miss." Seeing Murong Xue staring at them, Ms. Wu and Mr. Zhang didn't know what to do. They stood up at once. As servants, they shouldn't dine with their masters. They tried to refuse at first. But their masters said that they would feel despised if they didn't dine with them. They changed their minds over time and dined with them at last.

"Ms. Wu, Mr. Zhang, why are you still treating me as a stranger? You shouldn't have stood up! Just sit down. I’m hungry as well." Murong Xue said in a lovely tone.

They felt so moved that the Eldest Miss didn't despise them at all. "Okay. Eldest miss, please sit down as well. You look thinner. I made your favorite black chicken soup with red dates and braised meatballs in brown sauce. Please eat as many as you can."

"You guys worry too much. I think she has put on some weight since she moved out." Zhang Keren appreciated Mr. Zhang and Ms. Wu's love for her daughter and teased her.

Zhang Keren said the truth. She knew her daughter so well that she could notice even a tiny change in her daughter, let alone such a big change. She knew her daughter was beautiful. But her daughter was not intelligential before. Her pinky-white skin was glittering in the light. She wore a light blue dress with tiny flowers pattern which was simple but elegant. She exuded a divine radiance that made her noble and unsullied like a white lotus.

Maybe it was a good idea to let her daughter move out. Murong Xue was no longer ignorant of the world like a tender hothouse flower. Being innocent like that wasn't a good thing in the Murong Family. She was much relieved seeing her daughter's change.

"You don't come back to visit very often after you moved out. Don't you know we miss you?" Murong Fenghua also noticed his daughter's change. However, his daughter had lived with them since she was a kid. He was right to be worried when his daughter moved out suddenly.

Murong Xue almost burst into tears when she heard such sweet words. She wanted to say it was good to live again while the people she cared about were still there. "Mom, Dad, don't worry. I’ll be powerful. When that time comes, let me protect you."

"Okay! Okay! Enough chitchat. Our food is getting cold. Let’s eat."

"Yes. Let's talk later."

"Dad, have more of these. Mom, you too. Ms. Wu, Mr. Zhang, don't stand on ceremony. I've always considered you as families. Eat more. Don't just eat the one in front of you." Murong Xue didn't forget Ms. Wu or Mr. Zhang while picking up food for her parents.

"Why do I feel the vegetables we're eating are extremely delicious?" Zhang Keren said.

"You're right. Ms. Wu's cooking skill has improved."

Ms. Wu said in a hurry, "The Eldest Miss brought back the vegetables. They must be good."

Murong Fenghua and his wife looked at each other with speculative looks, "Xue, where did you get the vegetables and fruits?"

Murong Xue knew her parents cared about her. But she wouldn't tell them about the space no matter what. It wasn't because she didn't trust her parents. She was just afraid that it would put her parents in danger since she wasn't strong enough. "My friend gave those to me. Don't worry. Those are good stuff. You must eat every day. It's good for your health. I'll take some to my grandparents’ home tomorrow. I haven't visited them for a long time."

Murong Fenghua was curious about her daughter's friend. "Which friend of yours? Why haven't you mentioned such a person before? You do need to visit your grandparents and spend more time with them."

"Don't worry. My friend is nice. He just doesn't meet others easily. I'll tell you about him later."

Murong Fenghua and Zhang Keren didn't require more details after hearing that. Capable people had a certain temper after all. It was normal that she didn't want to meet others.

Vegetables were eaten up after a while. Plenty of meat was still left instead. Those vegetables were more delicious than meat. Everyone had a better appetite because of it and ate more.
