Bella's POV

The nurse placed a gentle hand on my shoulder. "Your baby is safe. We had to perform an emergency C-section to ensure the baby's well-being. It was a close call, but both you and your child are stable now."

Tears welled up in my eyes as relief and gratitude washed over me. My child was safe, but questions swirled in my mind. What had caused the accident? Was it deliberate? And what about the threats from that woman? Could she be behind this? But I wasn't with Peron.

Going back to the matter at hand, I faced the nurse. "But my baby isn't due yet," I croaked and she finally moved away so I could see the chamber right beside mine.

"We know and that's why we put him in the incubator and when he grows healthy enough, you'll be able to go home together.

"Isabelle!" I heard Peron's voice as he rushed in. "How are you? I heard about the accident…are you good? What of the baby?" Peron asked, not caring about the blood on his body.
