Present

Her pulse quickened, heart thudded hard in her chest. In her brother's absence, she was incharge. The door was wide open. She could see it from a distance. She quickened her pace toward her room and entered.

There were two men in black suits. Their guns were pointed at Sara. Her face was blanched with fear. Her hands were secured around her belly.

Her lips flattened in anger. 'Bloody morons! Don't they know how to treat a pregnant lady?' She thought and scowled at them. She instantly pulled the drawer open. She wrapped her fingers around the gun and drew it out. She moved swiftly. Her eldest brother had always praised quickness within her while training her.

Before they could point their guns at her. She clicked the trigger and shot twice one after another in their heads as her brother taught her. They were dead on the ground.

" Shelbina! " Sara shouted in terror and also sighed in relief. Her smile couldn't hide her horror. Tears gathered in her eyes. She ran toward her and pulled her in a tight hug.

" **** *****! Are you Okay?" She asked her sister-in-law.

"Thank you! You saved us." She said loudly in her ear, " But.. .. " Sara looked down at two dead bodies. She shivered in fear.

She shook her head as she brushed her index finger on the sliding tears. "Don't mention it. We have to get out of here." She told her in her calm tone.

"But... Are they dead?" Sara asked in fear.

"Ignore them, Sara. Don't stress, it's not good for you both." She smiled to assure her.

Sara was four months pregnant. Although her tummy wasn't showing in her loose nightdress.

"Ma'am, Boss is on the line." Avni came into the room. She was clenching the phone as her life depended on it. She was proud of her maid who could manage to call her brother.

Sara took long treads toward her and took it from her hand. "Albert! " She started to cry. She wiped her cheeks while listening from the device. " I'm fine. Shelbina shot them dead.'' Dread shone in her eyes as she lifted them to her.

''Will the police arrest her?" She looked relieved as her shoulders sagged.

"Yeah! OK." Sara extended her hand toward her. "He wants to talk to you." She said while sobbing.

She took the phone from her hand, " Brother..." She said, wiping her tears.

He asked her to take his wife and the rest of the staff to the safe house. He was on his way for them. Until then, he asked her to find a safe place and ordered her to not risk her life. She assured him. She had faced worse than this and survived too.

'Sara, wife of my brother and soon-to-be mother of his child will be safe, no matter what. '

She swore under her breath. That was a promise she made to her brother and herself.

"Avni, I know you can not deal with the gun. Can you pick them up for me?" She said to her as she didn't know how many goons were in this house. She needed all the bullets.

"Yes, Ma'am." Avni nodded. She was looking startled and frightened.

She needed a lot of bullets to take them safely out of there.

Avni picked the guns from the dead bodies, with a horrible expression on her face. Her hands were shivering.

She held Sara's hand and started walking out of her room. Her gaze darted around. It was looking empty but she knew that it wouldn't be like that for a long time. She could hear footsteps reverberating in the early morning. She mistook them, thinking them to be staff members of her house. She glared back, Avni was gripping two guns in her hands and running toward them, careful not to make any noise. She walked toward the back door and halted.

"Where are the other members of the staff?" She asked Avni under her breath.

"They are hidden in the secret room, behind the kitchen." Avni replied, whispering.

There was a secret room behind the Refrigerator. She was aware of every corner of this mansion.

"Are we gonna die?" Sara asked, terrified. Her eyes widened, glued to her.

"Not until I'm alive." She chuckled, softly.

"I and Alberto are the lucky ones to have you." Sara said, taking her hand in both her hands.

"You are wrong, dear sister-in-law. I'm the lucky one here. Well! We'll talk about it later. We will go shopping and have lunch together after sorting out this mess." She roamed her gaze around, smiling at her. There was no one. Soon, she was expecting them to come toward the back door as she was hoping they would grope the whole house first.

"What are we gonna do now?" Sara asked.

"Okay! Listen up, girls." She met their terrified gazes. She gave her gun to Sara, "Brother has taught you to use it, right?" She asked. There was no doubt in her tone.

"Yes, I can but I'm scared. " Sara accepted with water in her eyes.

She could understand her situation. It wasn't the world she came from. She fell in love with her brother. Now, she was facing the result of falling in love with the Mafia man.

She took both guns from Avni's hand. She put one on the waistline of her shorts and the second, she gripped it tightly.

"Please, Sara. Be strong for your child." She said, wiping tears from her cheeks. " You just have to pull the trigger. I'm sure. There will be no need to use it. " She said, drifting her gaze around.

Heaving, she nodded her head. "Okay," Sara whispered, not looking convinced.

"Now, move." She said, still holding her hand.

They shuffled towards the parking lot. She took the car keys out of her pocket. She unlocked her car. Then, she turned toward Avni holding a cold expression.

"I don't know how to drive, ma'am." Avni said, stuttering. She was watching here and there was fear in her gaze.

"I know." She gave the keys to Sara, "You have to just take care of Sara." She ordered her, pointing a finger at her.

"Sure, ma'am." She bowed her head.

"What are you going to do? Come with us." Sara was looking scared.

"Sara! I can't do this. There are the keys. You know where to head. You will be safe there. Call brother. He'll come. Okay?" She said to her.

"You didn't answer me." Sara asked with a mix of anger and concern. It was all a result of her brother's company.

"There are people in our house who are our responsibility. I can't leave them to die. You should go. I'll be there soon. " She promised.

"But..... " Sara started to say but she cut her off shaking her head.

"No, but Sara. Think about your unborn child. " She said with anger. " You have to do this because of your baby." She ordered her.

" Ma'am is right. You are pregnant, Ma'am. Please sit in the car. " Avni opened the door of the driver's seat.

"Go, Sara. I'll be fine. You just take care of yourself and your baby. " She smiled, murmuring.

Sara nodded sadly and boarded the car.

"Wait! " She said. They stopped and looked at her. She took out her phone and gave it to Sara who was glancing at her with pleading eyes to come with them. " You may need this. " She said.

"Avni, if she got any single nick. I'll shoot you, girl. " She threatened her in her promising tone.

She gulped hard. She knew she was serious. " Y… yes, ma'am. " Avni nodded her head and hurried to the passenger side.

They got in the car. Sara started the engine. Turning the key, she gave her last pleading look.

She shook her head and gestured her to go.

Sighing heavily, she sped away. She was glad that she purchased a Bugatti last year. It helped her today. She was relieved to see Sara going away from danger. Now, there was nothing to fear. She took a couple of long sighs to placate her running heart.

She drifted her eyes around, the same four people from his gang were also there. The leader was standing with the help of a second person. She could see the person who blindfolded her and others. One's forehead was swollen. She roamed her eyes around. It was a big hall with white walls and the same paint on the roof. It was fully empty except for two wooden chairs around a wooden table. She found one goon leering at her. It was really making her uncomfortable as she was standing without clothes. It made her fidgeting and her hands were itching to hit someone. His icy blue eyes met her. "Make her sit." He ordered. The same man stepped ahead who was leering at her. She glared at him exasperatedly. He smiled at her which was showing his bad desire to touch her. He stopped one step away from her. She didn't remove her glare from him. He raised his hand to touch her. She was getting bored. She went into the study to search for a new fantasy book. Alberto, her brother, added a new collection after fifteen days. He knew his sister loved to read fantasy books instead of love stories. She was running her fingers over the queue of the book's titles. "Twilight, Dead Beautiful, The Kiss of Deception, Relentless." She whispered the names of the titles, "City Of Bones," She pulled it out from the queue. She hadn't read it. She turned on her pointed white heels. It was matching with her white floral dress touching her knees. Alberto was sitting on a chair in the library. His head was in both hands. His coat was on the next chair. Mostly, he put it on the back of the chair. His tie was loosened. He was undoubtedly depressed about something. It wasn't that he fought with his wife over something. Sara was a kind soul. She put her feet on the soft carpet and paced toward the window. Her lips stretched in a cheerful smile. Sheer joy could be seen on her face. "Wao!" She exclaimed with happiness and excitement. It was clicked after three months when they rescued her. She was so happy to have them all. She sat there, gazing at the picture. "You bought me that dress. You remember, Mom?" She asked. The voices were making sense as she extended her feet toward the stairs. She climbed them down. She gulped recognizing her father yelling in anger. It never happened before. "You're not staying here.
