Chapter 70 - Epilogue

I added the little black stub to the baby book. We'd brought our baby home ten days ago and the umbilical cord fell off today. I remember getting this gorgeous book at the baby shower Analiese and Roberta had thrown for me. I had immediately come home and sat at the thrift store dining table to add all the details I knew so far. Mom and Dad's names, pictures of our first ultra-sound. Various names we had picked and discarded. My cravings during the pregnancy. They weren't too wild. Ice cream and tacos. Every time I ate avocados while pregnant I wanted to puke. I didn't have much morning sickness, like some women. I got nausea every once in a while, but I didn't throw up for months on end, thank God.

I put all of that information in there, including more pictures of the baby shower. I even described how Brody looked when the baby was put into my arms in the delivery room. Brody helped me decorate the spare room. We found an adorable crib at a yard sale, and I was given brand-new
