Michael Campo's killer remained elusive. I was working at my desk, going through all the clues we had amassed so far. Our two best suspects were Lenore Smithers and Sandra Jacobs. Lenore was a suspect simply because she tampered with evidence and tried to pin the murder on Natalia Jacobs. Sandra Jacobs was a suspect for several reasons. She had inserted herself into the investigation several times, coming in to give a statement when we hadn't asked her for one, was pretty suspicious. Secondly, she kept calling us as if she wanted information from us to see where we were going with the investigation. Both of those things usually meant someone had something they wanted to hide and was fishing to see if we had figured out what they were hiding. Plus, she could have a motive. It was her daughter that was hurt at the club by Campo only days before. We couldn't find a motive for Lenore to have killed Campo. Had they met before? We needed to lock that down.
