“She is merely a cub right now, yet her aura alone is suppressing our abilities,” The Dragon Duke gnashed his teeth in annoyance as he felt his bloodline withdrawing into itself, almost as though it didn’t dare come out in Kylie’s presence. He was not the only one who felt this way. For the other dragons, felt their powers being suppressed underneath the light of the Red Sun. All of them could feel the maliciousness within the heart of that star, and the fact that they were struggling to stand before a mere mortal was proof of this.

“Delores is right. That little girl is a Sovereign Star.” The Dragon General thought silently to himself.

Who were dragons? Dragons were creatures that embodied mystic, myth, and fantasy. They were rare beasts that could not be seen merely due to one’s whim, influence, or financial generosity. Dragons were the peak of all beasts, and many quaked when forced to be in their presence. This was because, dragons were naturally contracted to a star – the Star of

Kylie found herself standing upon a scorched earth. The ground was coated with red dirt, and the sky was lorded over by a red sun. The planet was barren, devoid of humans and animals alike, but the few plants that were present were just as red as the ground from which they grew.“What is this place?” Kylie wondered, moving her feet across the desolate ground. Her feet felt heavy, almost as though they weighted several tons. Due to this, what was normally a simple task, became as trying as facing a lion.“Is this your doing?” Kylie asked as she stared at the red sun in the sky. She didn’t believe that it was a coincidence that she appeared her right after signing a contract with the Red Sun of Destruction. She wondered if this was the world that this sun lorded over, for there was nothing here that spoke of life – with the exception of the few plants that were here of course. This planet was the perfect representation of destruction. Kylie could not think of a better lead than the Red

“Of course He exists. How do you think all these things came about?” the Red Sun of Destruction scoffed in disdain. Kylie’s brows twitched hearing the obvious scorn in its voice, and she couldn’t help but point out the obvious.“Oh, so now I am the dumb one? Who was it that spent eons thinking that the universe was theirs to mess around with?” Kylie chuckled, causing the Red Sun of Destruction to cough in embarrassment. Kylie’s words had hit its soft spot, and the Red Sun of Destruction wondered if it had told Kylie too much about its origins. After all, she had never asked it where it came from; she merely wanted to know how it knew her father.“Ehem. Well, you asked how I knew your father, didn’t you?” the Red Sun of Destruction hurriedly tried to change the topic, an act that amused Kylie. Who would have thought that a being with such history could be this shy?“I did ask that. And I think you have answered it.” Kylie replied. While it was true that the Red Sun of Destruction had g

“No!” Kylie screamed as her eyelids fluttered open, her arm outstretched as though she was reaching for something that she could not attain.“Oh? Did I wake you up from a pleasant dream?” Delores, the woman who had saved her and brought her here, chuckled upon seeing Kylie’s actions. Kylie’s head whipped towards the direction of her voice. It was one that she remembered, and though she hadn’t seen Delores before, she was able to recognize her as the woman who had saved her from the dragon.“Why that expression? You look like you were just forced to run over a puppy.” Delores smiled jovially and patted Kylie’s shoulder. She acted in such a friendly manner that Kylie began to wonder if they knew each other before today. That said whether or not they did know each other, Delores had snatched a golden opportunity from her. She had taken away her opportunity to learn more about herself and her parents!“She knew what she was doing,” Kylie thought silently to herself. She hadn’t sensed it b

Kylie couldn’t believe what she was hearing. After all, Delores was speaking of dragons, beings that were so powerful that their mere presence in her world was enough to tip the scales of war. A dragon was not something that could be easily ignored, and she doubted that the entire world of Beastmen put together could even put up a fight when faced with a dragon. Besides, one of the greatest Beastmen clans had a dragon as their descendants; yet Delores was referring to them like she did insects.“What is there to be surprised about?” Delores frowned and said, genuinely peeved by the fact that Kylie was thinking so highly of dragons.“The dragon you met was a child that had merely began walking the path of an adult. Even his father would be helpless against me, much less a little lizard like himself.” Delores snorted, her expression when she spoke of the dragons akin to a farmer talking about one of his chickens.“Little lizard?” Kylie stammered internally.*That isn’t really surprising

They may seem intelligent and highly cognizant of things around them, but the latter is merely in their own heads. For their greatest weakness is their inability to differentiate reality from truth. They are unaware of the fact that they have been trapped in the Lake of Beginnings all this while. It’s likely that they have been there for centuries, given that Great Wolves have been missing from the world for several decades now. Based on what I saw in your memories, they were trapped there by someone*Red’s words caused Kylie to sink into contemplation. Her thoughts muddled and her mind unclear. What she was learning was something she figured was beyond herself, but the fact that Red was speaking about these things so freely meant that the Causality Locks on this information were nothing when faced with his authority. *Knock*Kaizo calmly struck the frame of the door with his knuckles. He opened the door soon after, for he had expressed enough courtesy. With his eyes expressing the same amount of calm that his demeanour portrayed, he walked into the large office and sat down on one of the 12 chairs placed around the expensive office table.“You are late Kaizo,” a man who sat at the head of the table frowned and said. His hair was trimmed neatly and paired with the black suit he was wearing, he looked like the noble master of a famous family. His eyes were as narrow as slits, giving him the appearance of a snake, and his eyebrows were as thin as a cicada’s wing. His jawline was something to envy, for it was so well sculpted that one would have wondered if he was a product of meticulous cosmetic surgery; however, this was indeed his true appearance. He was a good-looking man, but the evidence of time was still present upon his face. This man was the head of the Levity Museum and current chairman, Jam

It had been three hours since the meeting between the Levity executives ended. In fact, the entire conference room was desolate, for everyone had left hours ago. There was only one person who remained now – the Chairman of Levity Museum, James Levity. James sat silently, accompanied by a bottle of wine and a wine glass. Swirling the drink in his hand around, his mind thought back to the meeting that had occurred prior. It was an abrupt end to a meeting that was meant to go on for a few more hours and even the other agendas that had been prepared for discussion had all been disregarded because of one person.“Kaizo, the Beast of War,” James Levity brought his trembling hands to his lips and wiped the dried-up blood that occupied their corners. His eyes were cold and calculating, and his gaze was like that of an aged-old snake.“What did you think of him?” A dark shadow appeared behind the seated James Levity. Although the room was brightly lit, so much so that not even a black cat coul

Kanto Country, B CityIn a magnificent building that was located in the countryside, two young men of differing complexions stood before each other. In their hands were wooden swords with cracks all over, signifying that they had been used for quite some time. The two men were of differing build as well. Both men were dressed in nothing but a pair of shorts; hence, it was easy to assess their physiques. The one with the dark complexion was built like a tank, his broad shoulders, large chest, and bulky arms akin to the trunk of a fruitful tree. His eyes were as sharp as razors, and his hands were severely calloused. His exposed thighs were thicker than his arms, and his calf was as large as his fist. The wooden sword he held was two times larger than the regular sword and thrice as heavy. In his hands, this great sword resembled a rapier, and the energy he gave off was that of a murderous scion. The fair skinned man did not boast of a physique as impressive as his compatriot – but tha

Kylie had another dream. Well, at this point, she spent more time dreaming than she did staying awake; however, this dream was familiar. It was an image she had seen before and one that she did not miss. She did not think she would see this again, but here she was once again, her spirit stranded on this worn-down planet. The red sun in the sky bore down on her and transmitted great heat, for although this was a dream, Kylie could feel the burning fire of the sun. The Legacy candidate of the Lion King tribe tore her eyes away from the sun and cast her eyes to the only figure present on this planet. Unlike her meet dream of this place, there were no enemies today. And unlike the first time, the protagonist of this dream was staring at her.A figure that seemed familiar yet eerily unfamiliar. It was as though she was holding a dystopian mirror before herself, for the person Kylie was looking at was an alternate image of herself. Same face, same figure, same complexion, and the same heigh

“What...is...that?” Razor asked with widened eyes. His arms which held Philip trembled strongly as his transformed skin failed to cope with the scorching heat now present in the hall. Yet even though his fur sizzled and burned, Razor could feel nothing. All that went through his mind was the shock of seeing Kylie in this new form.“Did you know about this?” Jack turned to Davis and asked. “No. Of course not. This is my first time seeing something like this” Davies replied. Both men were stunned by what they were seeing. Jack was using his spear to absorb the heat that threatened to reduce him to ash, for his spear’s origin was related to a creature that loved flames. As for Davies, he was using Jack as a shield by standing as close to him as possible. His response to Jack was not marred with lies, for he indeed had no idea what was going on. He had never seen Kylie in this form before, neither had he seen her radiating so much fury. No...wait. He had seen her show this much anger be

“Those eyes that were formerly lost, are now filled with conviction. They have figured it out.” Bloodlust muttered to herself silently, the pretentious crazed look she had mustered fading into nothingness. Her eyes still held her rage and her quivering from the loss of her brother did not cease, but her hidden wisdom had been pushed to the surface. This change was easy to discern. After all, it was easy to tell when an opponent had suddenly turned cautious.“Don’t worry about her ability to regenerate!” Kylie screamed, not telling the others that Davies held the key to defeating this monster; such a decision would cost them their element of surprise.Unfortunately for Kylie, Bloodlust was keen and sharp. She was unlike her brother. The moment she saw Kylie and Davies exchanging looks and noticed that his demeanour had grown emboldened, she was confident that the two were plotting something. Kylie frowned as she watched Bloodlust rapidly approaching. Razor was engaged with the Blood Daemon, keeping her at bay with his powerful blows and tearing her apart with the blades that adorned his arm. Unfortunately, his victim could be so careless with her actions and her attacks. Her swift attacks and careless nature made it difficult for Razor to be as brazen as he usually was, affecting his fighting style. Thankfully, Razor was not alone. Jack was there as well.As someone who had trained more as a marital artist than as a beastman, Jack was more suited to a battle like this. In a battle that required more caution than brazen obliteration of the enemy, Jack was a better fit. Phillip had also crawled out of the wall he had been struck into. While he was not as strong as Razor or as skilled as Jack, he too was used to a more reserved fighting style due to the fact that he had been fighting against opponents stronger than he was for the past few weeks of training prior to the missi

Dark Shadows’ eyes fluttered close as she embraced death. She didn’t think she would die like this but alas, when did she become the decider of her fate? Her greatest delusion had been to underestimate the beastmen because they were young. If she had taken them seriously from the start and actually drawn up a strategy to handle them, even if she had lost, she would have taken half of the team with her. It was unfortunate for the one who ruled these parts to come to this realization while standing on death’s door; however, her death was not filled with only regret.Yes, she had failed to lead properly and caused Slender and Muscles’ death by sending them after opponents who were much too ready for them. Yes, her foolishness and carelessness had led to the death of Breaker, meaning that even if she had survived, the Blood Daemon family would have killed her for her error. And yes, she had brought Bloodlust to tears and broken the spirit of the once reserved girl. These were all things s

For as long as she could remember, she and her brother had been together. From the moment of their birth to the time the family decided that they should go on their pilgrimage, they had been together. That was the life she had grown accustomed to. Her brother’s presence had become a part of her. He was an extension of her image, a mirror that reflected the part of herself that was always suppressed. Much like the Beastmen’s influential tribes, Daemons were the influential families of the Undead, and their elders came from these families. “Sh*t” Dark Shadow could not help but swear when she saw Breaker’s head rolling helplessly across the floor. Her eyes flashed coldly as rage and fear overcame every fiber of her being. It was unusual for the two polar opposite emotions to share the same space, but that was exactly what was happening right now. Her eyes sought the figure of the assassin. She wanted to see the one who had been so brave as to venture into her den alone. After all, she didn’t believe that all the beastmen who had been sent this time were assassins. Yet she could not catch a glimpse of the assassin. She roared in rage as she stamped her foot onto the ground, but her rage would not last long. For in no time, a large figure broke through the door of the throne room, blowing it to smithereens, and barged inside with an insidious smile on his face. This person was a beastman covered in spikes. His shaggy mane was reflective of his clan and Dark Shadow knew immediately who was behind this.“The Lion King tribe!

Dark Shadow sat silently upon her throne. Her eyes gazed calmly upon the large chandelier hanging from the centre of the ceiling that had been unused since the time she started living here. After all, what need did an Undead have for light. Whether it was sunlight or artificial light, it did not have a place in their land.“It feels quiet without them here,” Dark Shadow muttered, sighing tiredly.“If Slender and Muscles heard you say this, they would be very pleased,” said an Undead who had just walked into the room.Next to this Undead was another of his kind but of the opposite sex. The two approached Dark Shadow’s throne and knelt before her, offering their respect to their mistress.“Bloodlust greets Mistress Dark Shadow.”“Breaker greets Mistress Dark Shadow.”Looking down upon her two subordinates, Dark Shadow chuckled lightly and gestured for them to stand. These two, Bloodlust and Breaker, were the other two 4 Star Undead under her command. Bloodlust and Breaker were both Bloo

He wanted to get out of the light and into the darkness. And where is the captain?” Psycho wondered as his patched and cracked lips refused to part to even allow him to speak. He didn’t know why he couldn’t move as freely as he wanted, for his eyes were struggling to adapt to the piercing brightness of the sun. He could not see properly. His body just felt unusually heavy. Almost as though there was something keeping him bound. The last time he felt this way was right before he awakened as an Undead. For before he opened his eyes to this world that he knew, his body would not listen to him. Since then, he had clawed his way through the bittern
