Ginny accepted Jennifer’s gesture of goodwill with both hands. She was polite, gentle, and generous, showing a humble profile while not being subservient.

Jennifer was incredibly pleased with someone like Ginny and felt distressed by the latter’s words.

She was not related to the Fontaine family, so she was afraid that her concern would be deemed a disturbance. Who would dislike such a sensible girl?

Jennifer tugged Thaddeus’ clothes under the table and motioned for him to say something.

Thaddeus snapped back to his senses and glanced faintly at Ginny. He replied without any warmth, “I see.”

Ginny froze for a moment, and the smile on her face stiffened for two seconds before turning slightly disappointed. She said quietly, “I might have said something wrong. You don’t seem to welcome me very much, Mr. Fontaine.”

Thaddeus smiled. “Don’t think too much and just eat. These were all made according to your taste.”

Ginny’s eyes brightened as she said in surprise, “You know my taste?”
