CHAPTER SIXTY_ NINE

Henry was queit, he decided to just let her be so they'd settle their dispute later. Maria walked ahead of Henry but stopped immediately she finished climbing the stairs and was standing by the passage that would lead to the rooms.

"This way," Henry said, pointing towards the room with his hand.

He walked slowly and coldly behind Maria. He wished he didn't ask Maria if she was jealous because the guilt after asking her was killing him. It seemed as though he had wronged her in a very big way.

She walked straight to the room, ignoring Henry, who was walking coldly behind her. She knocked twice on the door and grabbed the handle when she heard Mercy's innocent voice say, "Come in." She tried to turn the handle and push the door in, but her hands were shaky and sweaty, and she ended up struggling with the door. Tears slipped away from her left eyes, landing on her cheek, and she wiped it away immediately.

Henry walked close to her and held the handle, placing his h

"Mary, come sit here," Grandma said, tapping the other side of the bed beside her. "Thank God you came in, I was thinking of the best person to send to go and call you," she added. Mary rolled her eyes and moved ahead. As she got close to where Maria stood, she pushed her with her shoulder, causing her to stagger and struggle to stand back on her feet. "Mary?" Her grandma called. "What? She was standing in my way, and I didn't even see her on time," Mary defended. Maria shut her eyes tightly and bit her lower lip. She kept quiet for a while and stared at Maria from head to toe. "I will see you when next I visit grandma. I'm sorry that my visit was cut short," she apologised. "It is fine Maria. Just to avoid another round of the argument, go home to your parents. I'll be fine," she said. Maria hugged her grandma, pecked her and began walking out of the room. "Send my greetings, our daddy," Mary said when Maria got close to the door. She had already grabbed the door handle when she heard Mary's voice, and she knew exactly where she was driving at. "The fact that we are twins doesn't mean we are thesame Mary. Goodnight, and see you around," Maria said without turning around to have another look at her twin sister. She walked out of the house and headed straight to her car, then she drove off. Henry and Mercy finished setting up the finning table."I'l

He moved his other hand to her boods and caressed it for a while, then slowly he moved his hand downwards until it stopped at her thigh. He romanced her thigh slowly and made to go further, but she grabbed his hand and pulled away from the kiss. "Stop!" She said, shaking. "This isn't right. It isn't.""I am sorry Maria, I thought you wanted it," Fred apologised. "No, I'm sorry for making you think everything is fine," Maria apologised. "It's fine, Maria," Fred said. He stared at Maria for a while and licked his lower lip. "You love him, right?" Fred asked. "Who?" Maria asked, pretending not to have heard him, while she thought of answers to his question. "You love Henry, I can see that," Fred replied. His voice was pale, and Maria knew he was hurt. He knew she had heard him at first, and she was aware that he did."I am sorry," she replied, bowing her head to the floor. "It's okay. W

CHAPTER SEVENTY_ FOUR"Hello," Fred said. Immediately, he noticed Ruth had picked up the call. "Hello, honey," her tiny voice sounded with so much excitement from the other end of the phone. "Are you at home?" Fred went straight to the point without any form of greetings or exchange of pleasantries. "I am at the club house that is close to your house. What are you up to?" She replied, not minding the approach since she was already used to it. Ruth knew Fred wasn't so interested in her. She wasn't interested in him either. She only liked that he kept her company and always had a way to ring her out of her miseries. He was the only one she could go to, cry out her eyes on his shoulder, and get good sex in return. Only then would she feel better from her misery."At the club house? You would never change. Okay, I will pick you up in five minutes," he said. "I will be expecting you then," she replied nonchalantly and hung up. "Even when I call, you'd still be the one to hang up on m

CHAPTER SEVENTY_ FIVEIt's been a week since Maria last visited Henry's mansion. She didn't want to have any conflict whatsoever with her sister, and she had intentionally avoided Henry on every social media platform. She tried to stay indoors unless she had a shoot, which she didn't go without her three body guards who now followed her around. She wasn't ready to come in contact with Henry yet until her state of mind was completely okay. Or better still, if he had divorced his wife. Henry knew that Maria wouldn't say no to him once he had signed the divorce paper with Mary and had forced her to do the same. Every single day, he stared at her pictures, and he always followed up news and trends about her. She glowed differently in her most recent pictures. And he wished every day that he could pay her a visit but he didn't have any excuse to go to her.Henry had his phone in his hand as he scrolled through Maria's pictures. He logged out of the page and typed in his search box. 'Best

CHAPTER SEVENTY_ SIX "Mary," Henry said subconsciously as he stood up from the bed and darted towards Mary. His eyes hovered around the room, and it was as if he saw all over the room at the same time. Mary took her hand away from her ear and began pacing the room with her whole body vibrating as though their was a vibrator in her system. Her whole body was soaked in sweats, and it wasn't as a result of nervousness but anger and pain. Henry also had sweat all over his body, but his was a result of nervousness. His palms were wet, and he dried them constantly with his cloth, but the sweats wouldn't go away permanently. "Mary, stop!" Henry ordered and paused at a corner of the room.Mary wasn't listening and searched the room with her eyes as she walked around the room. She walked up to Henry's table and pushed down everything that had been arranged neatly on the table before she caused the damage. Let her take him away from us?" Dylan asked. Mary let out a wry smile. "To think that this disheartening issue is amusing to me to an extent. I think we should leave the house. If he really loves us, he would come for us," Mary suggested. They both sat on Dylan's bed in his room, and Mary held his little hand in hers. "I don't think leaving is the best idea, mom. You said it yourself, that woman if bent om stealing dad from us, and he loves her too. If we live this house, she would definitely move in, and the both of us might never get to come back again. That way, she would succeed in turning dad completely against us," Dylan suggested. "We would sue them if they try to

The housekeeper walked over to the door to help get the door, while the two rushed the work to quickly finish it before the three would walk in. CHAPTER NINETY _ EIGHT Henry lay in bed thinking about Mary. He once loved her and still did, although not romantically anymore. He wished there was something he could do about her, but there was absolutely nothing. She was guilty of the case charged, and although Maria hadn't pressed charges yet, she would as soon as Faith succeeded in convincing her. Henry was so worried for Mary's safety. It was so early in the morning, and Henry hadn't had any sleep yet. The wall clock that hung on the wall facing him read the time to his face. And it displayed 5am.Henry sighed, as he remembered Mercy, Dylan and granny. The three were in Dylan's school camp. He felt bad for the kid, none of his parents could attend the camp with him. Henry would have gone but Dylan insisted he shouldn't attend the camp without Mary. He didn't want to create a scene in the school by going there against the kid's wish, so he decided to just stay back at home. He heard the door bell ring and jerked from the bed

CHAPTER NINETY _ SEVEN The day was a very stressful and yet very successful one. Everything the Clifford's planned on achieving for that fay they did before dusk. Everyone was exhausted and just retired to their rooms to sleep. Maria lay in bed with her eyes closed as thoughts flew freely in and out of her mind. Tears rolled down her left eyes, dropping on the sheets. She heard a light knock on the door and wiped her face immediately. "Come in," she managed to say and sat up in bed. She was too tired to stand to her feet and thanked her stars she didn't lock the door yet. She saw her mom walk into her room with a sad smile on her face. She sat on the bed beside Maria and held her jaw up. Maria understood that her mom was only trying to make her happy. Soon, their tone increased, and she realized they were talking to someone or some people on the phone."We should just fix the wedding, and they would come together, get married. It is not like they have a choice after all. "That was Faith's voice. She knew the meeting they held was about she and Fred, and she also knew it was Fred's parents on the other end of the call. "Maybe you would just come over to the house so we would plan the wedding properly," Clifford's voice sounded. She felt betrayed that her dad was part of the plan. Why would he? She thought he was on her side and would help her achieve whatever she wanted. Why would he switch sides all of a sudden? She sighed sadly and returned to her room.
