Chapter 8 – Mr. Wright… The right one for you

Ezekiel was standing at his office's glass wall, staring out at the entire metropolis of New York, his hands in his pockets, and he kept checking his watch.

He didn't turn his head to look behind her as he heard the door open and the sound of a stiletto approaching him; instead, he questioned her, "What took you so long?"

The person behind him did not respond and instead offered him a loving back embrace, which startled him; he bowed his head to gaze at the woman's hands.

He heard a hard tap on the door, “Mr. Kiel --” he was surprised to hear the familiar voice of a lady, he immediately looked back to ascertain whether that lady was Bella.

Bella was ashamed to see the lady hugging him, and he even caught her seeing the two. “I'm sorry, Mr. Kiel,” she murmured, turning around and covering her face with her hands.

“Get lost!!!” She heard him yelled, Bella quickly leaves the doorway of Mr. Kiel’s office and strolls around, she burst out into laughter when she remembered how horrible his expression was when she caught him.

“Hi, Bella!” Kevin greeted her as soon as he saw her, she looks at him, smiles, and greet him back.

“How are you feeling today?” he inquired.

“I'm - I'm really happy,” she answered happily, “that's good! You have no idea how worried Mr. Kiel was when you passed out, and he even takes you out of the firm with his arms,” he tells her as he sighs in relief.

“Do you mean that he cares for me?” Bella asked him, he nods at her. A lady come to them and handed a file to Kevin, “here are the files that you needed,” she said.

“Thank you, Angeline!” Kevin bid goodbye to the two ladies, Bella started to wonder why he would be concerned about her safety; he had even despised her from the beginning.

She regained her composure when Angeline informed her, “you are lucky that you captured Mr. Kiel’s heart.”

She gives her a surprised look and laughs, “captured his heart?! I’m telling you, Miss, that man hated me to death,” she replied as she pointed in the direction of Kiel’s office.

She giggles at Bella, saying, "you never know what his true feelings for you are." Luke walks by together with the lady that hugs Kiel, she glances at them and flirtatiously waves.

When Luke passed them on their way, he remarked, "Ms. Chen, Mr. Kiel is waiting for you in the office."

Bella gave Angeline an uncertain look, “you should go. Your Mr. Wright is waiting for his Mrs. Wright,” she jokingly said.

Bella was surprised and asked, “Mr. Wright?”

Angeline bit her lips and answered nervously to mislead her, “Yes, he’s the right one for you and --- I think you’re a match made in heaven.”

“How can you conclude he's THE RIGHT ONE FOR ME?” She responded, emphasizing the word "right."

“Because you're the only lady he carries in his arms, and I can tell he's sincere,” she told her that day while daydreaming.

Bella did not respond to her instead she gave her an uneasy grin and bid goodbye, Angeline touches her chest and eventually sighs when she successfully misleads her.

Bella knock on the door of Mr. Kiel’s office and come in, she saw him sitting on his swivel chair, his eyes were focused on the files placed on top of his table, and didn’t utter anything when she comes.

She grins from ear to ear and remains standing facing him, Ezekiel was curious why she’s not saying anything, he slowly raised his head to see her, he got angry upon seeing her tease grin.

“Why are you still standing there?!” he shouted at her, “get me a cup of coffee!” he ordered her.

She was annoyed when he yelled at her, “you shouldn’t drink too much coffee, it might harm you,” she reminds him.

He smiled and asked her, “are you showing affection for me?”

She chuckles sarcastically saying, “sir, if you die in front of me while sipping the coffee I made for you, your staff might charge or accuse me of murdering you so it’s not good for my reputation.”

He felt his blood boil when she said that, “you don’t have to worry about my death, get out of my office and do your work!” he shouted at her.

Bella exits his office, giggling at his outlandish reaction, and heads to the cupboard to prepare his coffee. As she walks out of their boss's office, everyone in the design Department notices her dazzling grin.

The Designing Department is across from Mr. Wright's office, so they know who comes and goes. The wall is likewise constructed of glass, but Mr. Kiel's wall has Venetian blinds, which he started covering when Bella started working for him.

“She’s lucky to have him,” the staff said, “I beg to disagree! Mr. Kiel is lucky to have her!” James stated, everyone in the department stares at him and says, “what are you doing in here? You’re from the engineering department.”

“I’m waiting for Angeline!” he exclaimed, “she’s out, Mr. Wright’s gave him a new project.”

“I will wait for her here,” he said and occupies Angeline’s swivel chair.

“Wait till Mr. Kiel found you here, let’s see how long you can wait here,” Mr. Ian – the head manager concluded.

“Attention! All of you prepare your designs. Mr. Kiel will start the meeting within 5 minutes,” Mr. Ian added. James quickly stands up and runs out of their office.

“Scaredy cat,” Clarisse uttered as she looks at James, and everyone in their department agrees.

When Bella entered Mr. Kiel's office with a cup of coffee, someone said, "I suppose our meeting will be moved to the afternoon."

When they heard it, it appears that the clock stopped ticking, and they silently observed their boss's office.

Mr. Wright was busy examining the paperwork as Bella placed the cup of coffee on top of the table. He grabbed the cup, sipped it, then replaced it on the table, saying, "Change it." “Too much sugar,” he grumbles.

The personnel in the design department keeps an eye on Bella as he moves back and forth in his office.

Bella lost her patience and placed the coffee on his table, certain that he would not ask for more after tasting it.

Mr. Wright sipped the coffee and burst it after tasting it, violently asking, "Why does it taste salty?!"

“Oh, Mr. Kiel, I apologized. I used up all of the sugar when you asked me to alter it several times, and I'm worried you'll be upset if I don't bring you your coffee so I put some salt in it.” She pretended to be depressed.

He shook his head and glared furiously at her. Bella was overjoyed that she was able to defeat him every time he tried to make her suffer.

“Next time, I will not let you win Bella; I guarantee you will fall into my trap,” he promised himself.
