“Actually…I didn't leave with Jay. I mean, we actually were together but I went to him,” I said feeling a pang of guilt. “I shouldn't have left without telling you. I'm sorry.”

“Where did you go? His office?”

I didn't know if it was because I was having the conversation with my best friend or it was the memory of that day rearing up in my head again but my body warmed up all over again.

“Well, just guessed. where else would you go to find him,” she said and looked away.

Tina's words sounded a bit curt and for a moment I detected a kind of upset in her facial expression but I was too excited and barely noticed. And for real I had a lot to tell her.
