Chapter 6

Seraphina was walking in the school's hallway towards the school's cafeteria , her presence commanding attention. Students parted like the Red Sea, wary of her sharp tongue and ruthless demeanor. Ava walked beside her, equally intimidating but with a softer edge.

As they turned a corner, they saw Alexander leaning against a locker, his arm draped casually around a girl who looked up at him with adoration. Seraphina’s eyes narrowed. She had no patience for Alexander, the arrogant playboy who had harassed her at a party.

“Look at him,” Seraphina muttered to Ava. “Treating her like she’s disposable.”

Ava glanced over and sighed. “He’s always been like that. Thinks he can get away with anything because of his looks and charm.”

Seraphina’s jaw tightened. “Not on my watch.”

She marched over to Alexander, her heels clicking sharply against the floor. “Alexander,” she called out, her voice icy.

He looked up, a smirk playing on his lips. “Well, if it isn’t the queen of the school. To what do I owe this pleasure?”

“Cut the crap,” Seraphina snapped. “Oh so you're in this school with us. You think you can just harass people and get away with it?”

Alexander’s smirk faded slightly. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Don’t play dumb,” Seraphina shot back. “You know exactly what you did. And now you’re here, treating another girl like she’s nothing.”

The girl beside Alexander looked confused and hurt. “Alex, what’s she talking about?”

Alexander sighed, running a hand through his hair. “It’s nothing, babe. Just some misunderstanding.”

Seraphina stepped closer, her eyes blazing. “It’s not nothing. You need to start treating people with respect, or you’ll find yourself very alone.”

Alexander’s expression hardened. “And who are you to lecture me about respect? You’re no saint, Seraphina.”

Ava stepped in, placing a hand on Seraphina’s arm. “Let’s go, Sera. He’s not worth it.”

Seraphina glared at Alexander one last time before turning on her heel. “Just remember, Alexander. People like you always get what’s coming to them.”

As they walked away, Ava whispered, “You okay?”

Seraphina nodded, though her anger still simmered. “Yeah. I just can’t stand people like him. Someone needs to put him in his place.

Mr. Sterling received a call from the headquarters of the jewelry companies, informing him about an upcoming award ceremony for all CEOs. The event was scheduled for a week later. Mr. Sterling felt a surge of confidence, certain that he would emerge victorious regardless of the competition.

In school, Ava and Seraphina sat quietly in class, their books open in front of them.Ava broke the silence, asking, “ what if Alex comes to apologize for harassing you at the party, will you accept his apology?”

“I will never accept it because he did it intentionally,” she replied firmly.

“What if he was drunk? You said it happened at a party, so that might explain his behavior,” Ava suggested.

“Ava, I don’t care about that. I just hate him, and that will definitely make me reject his apology,” Sera responded, her tone resolute.

Ava could see that Sera's mind was made up, and nothing could change it. During break time, they went out to grab some lunch.

A girl passed by them and stepped on her foot.

“Hey! Are you blind? How dare you step on me like that?” I snapped, my voice sharp with irritation. The girl ignored me and walked away.

Ava tried to calm me down. “You need to relax when someone does that. It’s not worth getting so angry.”

“Can’t you see she didn’t even apologize? She just walked away!” she raged, her anger boiling over.

“ Please calm down and give people a chance to be your friends,” Ava explained gently.

“Are you on my side or theirs?” Seraphina snapped at her, storming off to the classroom.

Meanwhile, Alexander was sitting in the cafeteria with Felix. They observed the entire incident.

“That girl is very rude. She even talks to her friend like that,” Felix commented, his tone disapproving.

“I will change her with my love,” Alexander said, sipping his drink thoughtfully.

“With your love? Have you fallen for her? But it’s surprising to see the great Alexander, who has all the girls at his beck and call, in love,” Felix mocked.

“I’m not interested in those girls anymore. I’ve found the one my heart yearns for,” Alexander confessed, his eyes reflecting his sincerity.

“ I heard that you guys fought, I believe she won’t accept you” Felix giggled.

Back at the office, Mr. Sterling, looking very busy, decided to go out for lunch. At the gate, the security guard tried to tell him something. Initially, Mr. Sterling tried to ignore him, but the guard persisted.

“What’s wrong?” Mr. Sterling inquired.

The security guard explained that he woke up at midnight and found the gate unlocked, even though he had the keys. He suspected someone had stolen something from the store.

Mr. Sterling was confused. “Maybe you didn’t lock it and fell asleep,” he suggested.

“I locked it before sleeping,” the guard insisted.

“Why would you sleep at a time like this? But nothing was stolen, so why are you wasting my time?” Mr. Sterling asked furiously before driving off.

The security guard was left unable to explain further.

Mr. Harrington had been making good sales recently, thanks to the high-quality products he had stolen from his rival. It had always been his dream to meet Mr. Sterling and take revenge for what happened at university. Despite his success, he still wanted to destroy Radiant Treasures completely.

When Seraphina got home, her mom called her,

“ Seraphina! How was your day?”

She didn't respond to her mom's call and went upstairs.

Her personal maid came to the hall to ask if she was back. Sera's mom told her that Sera was already in her room. The maid was surprised that Seraphina hadn’t called her to take her bag.

“ I think she might not be in a good mood” her mom suggested.

Mrs. Vanessa went to Seraphina’s room to check on her. She found her daughter already asleep, her face peaceful despite the day’s turmoil. Not wanting to disturb her, Mrs. Vanessa quietly left the room, closing the door softly behind her.

Meanwhile, Ava walked home, her heart heavy with regret. She replayed the conversation in her mind, feeling she had been too harsh. Determined to make amends, she decided to call Seraphina. She dialed her number repeatedly, but each call went unanswered, deepening her worry.

Alexander arrived home to find his father, Mr. Harrington, in an unusually good mood. The elder Harrington’s face was lit with a rare smile, and Alexander couldn’t help but wonder what had brought about this change.

“What’s the celebration about, Dad?” Alexander asked, curiosity evident in his voice.

Mr. Harrington, still smiling, replied, “We’ve made significant progress in the business.”

Alexander was taken aback. He knew his father didn’t have the rightful products to attract so many customers. “How did that happen, Dad?” he asked, his tone filled with curiosity.

“How it happened doesn’t matter. Let’s just celebrate our progress,” Mr. Harrington answered, dismissing the question.

Though still in shock, Alexander had no choice but to obey his father. Mr. Harrington instructed him to go upstairs, freshen up, and come down for a special celebration. After a lavish dinner and jubilant festivities, Alexander retired to his room. However, sleep eluded him as he spent the night rehearsing his apology to Seraphina.

“Okay, this is what I’ll say: ‘ I’ll approach her, kneel down, and ask her to be my friend. Yes! Oh, I forgot to add the apology. No, I’ll just say, ‘Hi,’ apologize, and then ask her to be my friend. Yes! Yes! Yes! I did it,” Alexander muttered to himself, practicing over and over until he realized it was late and he needed to sleep.
