I walked through the mall, a little lost in thought. I had just arrived at the mall, i wanted to get some items that I needed and as usual Vitali’s driver had brought me here.

The memories of our argument and his infidelity still lingered in my mind, but I was determined to endure. It’s been nine months since Vitali and I got married

In a month I will be free. That gave me the strength I needed to endure

As I turned to a corner, I collided with a guy who was standing by a storefront. Apologetically, I looked up to meet his eyes.

And my heart sank.

It was Tristan.

I hadn't seen him in months, not since I found out that he and Vitali had worked together to manipulate me. The pain and anger I had felt then came flooding back, and I felt my face grow hot with emotion.

Tristan's eyes widened in surprise, and he took a step back. "Beth," he said, his voice cautious. "I didn't expect to run into you here."
