Alpha Farrell's POV
When that blazing fire gutted my home, a storm of vengeful emotions raged inside me. I watched as it burned the flesh of my wife and baby and melted their bones to ashes and I couldn't do anything to save them from the rage of flame that swept quickly through the house.
Their cries still shrill through my mind in my sleep and I feel guilty, guilty for not saving them, for not jumping into that fire and cloistering them out to safety. I doubt if I'll ever recover from it.
Dark crest pack had rampaged and attacked us unaware, raiding and destroying everything within sight. My people had been murdered in cold blood and their body sprawled across the entire pack.
It was cowardly of them to attack us behind our backs, we would have torn their flesh and devoured them if they’d challenged us upfront. I swore to exact my revenge in the same spiteful manner.
I decided to prowl under the bush and wait for the right time to strike, to do to them exactly what they did to us. And that day was now. I had waited for the perfect time and season to exact my long overdue revenge.
As we stormed their village, I made my way to the dungeon to capture prisoners. I found a sentinel I took pleasure in slaughtering, but what I found next, I never expected.
As I ripped the dungeon’s bar open, a sharp scent filled my nostrils. It reeked of the sore smell of dirt and feminine sweat with a squirt of hyacinth. It was her. Another mate?
After my queen and son – my only heir died in that fire, I lost control of my humanity and the emotions that came along with it. I vowed to never take another mate, as I was irresponsible and undeserving of one.
“Please, don't hurt me. I beg of you.” She cried. Her voice had reached out to me in a low and touching manner that I couldn't ignore even though I desperately wanted to.
I had wanted to end the life of every one of them in the pack just the way their alpha had done to my people.
I held one of her shackled hands and raised my other hand in a bid to salvage her to death, but something held me back. There was no explanation for what held me back and neither could I understand it.
She forced her eyes open and they met mine. They were flooded with tears and shimmered like the waves of an ocean. They rippled a feeling inside me.
They softened me. I felt myself slowly regaining my human form which I had lost after the death of my mate – my wife and queen, but I suppressed it as soon as Sir Edric – my right-hand man walked it.
“My lord,” he bowed. "Our raid operation is a big success, we've killed them all including the Alpha king Donovan.” I felt my heart jump in glee as soon as he uttered those words.
I released her hands and took a deep breath before turning to face Edric who stood right behind me with a serious look.
“Very well then,” I spoke. "We will burn the whole village to ashes as we leave. And bring the prisoner along, she’s our hostage now.”
As I walked past him, I noticed his eyes pop with suspicion. I was sure he already knew. A Lycan is sure to know when his fellow has found his matching mate.
My lips curled to a satisfyingly vengeful smirk as I dallied past savaged corpses, dissected body parts, splattered blood, and of course, the head of the Alpha king Donovan on a spike. Now my late family can rest in peace.
He was the one that ordered the rampage on my village and the fire that consumed my palace and family. Revenge had been served on a silver platter that appealed so much to me.
I marched onto the top of the concrete steps, his spiked head beside me. I drew the attention of my pack and addressed them.
“Lycans!! Lycans of Blood Moon pack!! I beckoned, tightening my jaw and raising my balled fist in the air. The sight of them in a spiteful mood appealed to me.
All eyes were drawn to me as they watched most attentively. I let down my arm and clasped them both behind my lower. I paced around, stone-faced with my eyes frisking viciously.
“The moon goddess has smiled at us. Our victory has shone brightly like the full moon. We’ve trampled down our enemies and stamped our feet on their pathetic carcasses.
Now our brothers, wives, children, and all our loved ones will finally rest in peace. Our victory hasn't tasted any better, but we still need to do the final… let's burn this place to the ground!!”
I screamed at the top of my voice, my breath rustling in sync with the heaving of my chest.
Their howl thundered across the forest as they doused the entire village with paraffin and set it ablaze with a joy they hadn't known in a long time.
•••
“My lord, what do you suggest we do with our new prisoner?” Edric asked after a slight bow, locking his gaze in mine just the way he does whenever we've got something important to talk about.
I took a sip from my cup and grazed my mouth with my teeth, tapping gently at the tail of the mug.
“Take her to the dungeon, lock her up till I figure something out.” I hurled out the orders without thinking twice.
“Yes, my lord.” He bowed in reverence before making his way to the door.
“Edric,” I called.
“Yes, my lord.”
“I'm aware that you already know she’s my mate,” I began.
"But after the death of Sheila, I vowed to never take another mate, much less a weak wolfless girl from our enemy's side. She’s past eighteen and she hasn't even wolfed.”
He let out a huff of breath and cradled his hands to his upper abdomen.
"My lord, if the moon goddess dared give you another mate then it's for a reason. Remember that everything good comes from her. All because of that girl, you have regained your humanity and lately,
I have noticed how peaceful and softened you've become inside.” he spoke, words that I already knew. I didn't need anyone to tell me those again but I didn't stop him anyways.
“Maybe you should go visit her, she’s been sulking ever since we arrived.” He concluded before making his way to the door.
The evening slowly drifted to nightfall and I began to think it was never going to fall. I sprung from my chair and trod to the balcony of my chamber, my hands clasped to my back.
My eyes flickered recklessly as I made my way through. The night was pitch black and peaceful with chirping crickets hovering in the bushes. I placed my hand on the steel rail and patiently watched the rise of the moon. It was a beautiful sight to behold.
Moonlight shone in my eyes as my inquisitive mouth parted continuously to mutter; "Why have you chosen to give me another mate after everything that happened? I am undeserving of one, I’m not responsible enough for one, please let it not be true.
"The guilt I felt managed to simmer itself to my lips all over again
The bushes rustled and a cold wind swept against my deep brown fur. A wave of nervous energy flowed through me and I caught a glimpse of her image in the dungeon.
Her head was bowed low in fear and her legs were wobbly. She was crying. Her image was erased the moment she looked up like she noticed something.
STAR'S POVThe dungeon bar was creaked open by the sentinel who stood watch over it.“Greetings my lord.” The sentinel bowed, much lower than I'd have ever wanted from anyone. It pissed me so much that I wanted to strangle the life out of him. I tapped my hands against each other in a slow beat, waiting for the alpha to speak.Alpha Farrell nodded his head in response and signalled him to leave.“And… has she had anything to eat?” He asked, calling him back before he could march the stairs. I scoffed. When did he suddenly care if I had eaten or not?“Yes, my lord,” he answered. "Sir Edric had the servants bring her rabbit stew about an hour ago.”“Very well, you may leave.”As Alpha Farrell walked in, I jolted and cringed into the wall. Inside, I was a bit more surprised he came in his human form. The last I laid my eyes on him, he was a beast and squashed the neck of a man a tad and looked satisfied doing it. My breath quickened as he came closer to me. I wrapped my hands into a fis
Star's povI opened my eyes, taking in the surroundings. The room was dark and damp. Pain surged through every limb of mine. I groaned and tried to sit up, only to fall back, gruff expletives escaping my mouth. The floor was so damp and cold, and I placed my cheek on it to ease the burn I felt on my face. Burns from the scratches on my face. I closed my eyes again, grimacing at the pain, tears ran down the corners of my eyes. My mind drifted back to the dreadful scenery that had played out in front of me when my new mate's minions had taken me out of my dungeon cell. After hearing that Alpha Duncan had been killed along with his men, I had expected the outside to be in some sort of disarray but nothing I had ìmagined prepared me for what I saw. It was a massacre. Bodies pulled apart with their internal organs spilling out. The brute carrying me like a log of wood didn't seem even a bit bothered by the gruesome scene or by my heaving and vomiting. I puked out everything I could fin
Alpha Farell's POVA sigh escaped my lips as I turned to the tall palm tree at a distance. The wind hurried, causing the branches to dance helplessly. I felt my lips tilt up a little at a fond memory; I had just turned eighteen and was eager to feel the mate bond with a member of my pack so I had attended any and every party but I still couldn't find my mate.It was my duty as the son of the Alpha to find a suitable mate. I knew deep down that that was only an excuse. From a very young age, I had watched the display of love and affection between my father and mother. Their bond surpassed the normal mate's bond. They were soul mates. He was a fearless Alpha to all others, ruthless even, but not when he was with her. With my mother, my father a fearless Lycan was reduced to a whiny puppy. Their friendship and companionship was next to none. And I craved it.I had promised myself that once I found my mate I would treat her so perfectly that it would make even my parents jealous. Loosing
Star's POVThe Lycan alpha rested on his elbows as he blinked out residual tears. My legs trembled at his peircing gaze. I didn't think he was aware of how tears still fell slowly down his chin. Slight relief curled within me when he dropped his dark red eyes from me and stared at his bloody hands. The moment I walked in the Alpha's scent had quickly alerted me of who's room I was put in. Although it was expected, I hadn't expected him to want to use me so soon. At first I shied away into a corner holding my knees to my chest as I wondered why I have always been so unfortunate with packs and mates. Having a mate was supposed to be a beautiful everlasting experience that sealed a person's heart to their mates but it appeared the goddess found joy in mocking me by giving me mates that were the strongest in their packs. Who would cherish such a waste as me? My stay here was only going to be tourture and I already wished I was killed alongside my people. My ears pick up a quiet whimp
Star's POVLoneliness quickly consumed me as my mind registered my current situation. I couldn't do anything aside waiting patiently. As patient as I was trying to be I knew it was going to be impossible surviving in a pack that wasn't mine without my wolf. I wanted out of it all. I didn't want to remember my pain or sorrow. I wanted peace but that too was far fetched. No matter how hard I tried to ignore the gnawing on my chest I just couldn't. Not with thoughts of him plaguing my mind. He was unconsciously crying in his sleep and it left me wondering what had made him cry. I shook my head; he didn't deserve my sympathy. He was the reason I was still alive unfortunately. He was to blame for the death of my people. Nothing good could come out from such. He was a beast and just like him I would rather be mateless than tied to him. During the day I could pick up faint sounds of the hussle and bustle of the pack. Those who kept me prisoner made sure to check on me severally and neith
Alpha Farrell's POVI took in my surrounding, hating the dirty condition of the cell. Yes I threw her in here but Archer could have at least ensured they cleaned the place up before locking my mate... before locking her up in here. Thinking back on the conversation Archer tried to have with me I brought my eyes to Star. Her eyes filled with fear as she avoided holding my gaze. Not that I wanted her too. I was still upset about the broken portrait but I was willing to give reason to Archer's word. I had promised him after all. I glanced over at her before speaking. "Are you hurt?" Star appeared startled by my voice then raised her head. I inhaled when her eyes met mine. If there was any word that best described her bright blue eyes it would be 'gorgeous'. I suddenly felt envious of how captivating and calming her eyes were unlike my red eyes that were testified scary. I softened my gaze on her hoping to lessen the fear I could feel coming from her. I moved closer but stopped when s
Alpha Farrell's POVThe sound of my steps echo through the hallways as I storm into my study. The mate bond be damned! Who does she think she is?! My breathing became heavy and I felt like returning back to the cell to finish off what I started. What right does she think she had to speak to me in such manner. Like I was some pitiful case and she was the cure to my ache. "She means nothing!" I screamed at the wall. "Nothing at all." Frustration overwhelmed me as I knew I was only saying this but within me I knew for sure she meant much more. Feeling the need to destroy something, anything, I pushed off the books from my desk. It did nothing to quench the anger within me. Star be damned! I angrily kicked the table off its footing, sending it into the wall. The loud clash caused a thick vibration across the windows and I found it almost satisfying. I reached for a chair and sent it flying, getting the same loud distracting noise. This was exactly what I needed. Something to distrac
Star's POVI wrapped my hands around myself in tiredness. The weather soaked into my body leaving me stuffed with excess cold. It was slowly getting harder for me to breathe. It probably was because a few minutes ago I was almost strangled to death. It was foolish of me to have bothered or even shown a bit of care the the Lycan alpha. He was ruthless and harsh and he didn't hesitate to prove to me how little I meant to him. If I meant anything at all. But we are mates... aren't we?I was mentally troubled with my thoughts and for a while it kept me unaware of the cold but after sitting on the cemented floor of an empty smelling cell, I eventually caught the cold. My head burned and my eyes stung but I couldn't help myself. I was locked in a cell at the far back of the prison and whenever I called on a guard I was simply ignored. At the moment I couldn't even find it in myself the strength to call for help. It wasn't all bad considering I could easily find death this way. It hurt
"Hello, dearest brother, nice to see you again," Archer smirked as he stepped out of the darkness, and Farell watched his only brother with mixed feelings. He had no idea whether to still hate him for everything he had done to them or hold him close because he was worried about him. Instead, he returned his smirk with a more sinister one. "Five years is not as long as it used to be anymore. I see hell has been great on you." He fired back and both stared at each other without exchanging further words. Alpha Farell had no idea how to react to this news; his brother was back this time, as one of his worst enemies, The Devil Alpha of the Northern Realm. BOOK 2: Claimed by the Devil Alpha.BOOK II OF THE CLAIMED SERIES“Come here, little slave,” he snickered, and Lila bit back a sob before she found herself crawling back towards him. He owns me now, and I am the property of the devil lycan. ____People make mistakes, but some are deadlier than the rest. Five years ago, Alpha Archer tu
Star's POVThe dresses were paid for with Farrell's card and we all walked out of the store back to the car."Grrrr, my stomach made a rumbling sound of hungerHarriet and Farrell looked back at me." Come and sit in the car, I've got food packed for you."" Mmm, I nodded and walked into the car to eat."Cravings and hunger were the largest difficulty in giving birth to children for the Alpha, my mother had faced the same thing and I'd seen so many instances of that.Mine was very much over the top and got me worried about my intense cravings and mood swings. The food was all eaten in a few minutes, a bottle of uncapped eater was handed to me by Farrell." Let's go back home, Harriet and I will do the rest of the of the preparation."I sat back and closed my eyes for a nap.Farrell drive back to the pack house and I was already asleep by the time we got home. The sound of the car door being opened was the last thing I Heard before drifting off to sleep.Five hours laterA small strea

Mm okay," she said and laid on her back.I held her long, slim legs in my arms as I massaged her tendons.A little while later, Star was already sleeping peacefully.I continued for a while before kissing her forehead and then got out of bed.A maid stood by the kitchen door and there were two more inside the kitchen."You can go for today, you're dismissed."" But my Lord, how about my lady's meals." The maid asked hesitantly to leave." I'll take care of her meals, you can go."" Yes my Lord," all three of them said and walked out of the room.I walked to the kitchen and took a basket of oranges to make juice.Half an hour later, a knock on the door made me walk out of the kitchen.I opened the door to meet Harriet by the door." I've done as you asked Alpha Farrell, Harriet said to me."" I nodded and walked to the bay of the room, a newly dug
Alpha Farrell's POVStar smiled mildly and went back to eating her meal.I stared at her face and felt an indescribable feeling of homeliness and love for her.I knew what I had to do, I had to mark her, to make her become mime forever and ever. But before I marked Star as mine I had to first settle Archer, I had to serve him the punishment he deserved.I walked out of the room and called Harriet." Good morning Alpha Farrell, Harriet's voice came through from the other end of the phone."" Good morning Harriet, I want to be at the pack house as soon as you can make it." Alright Alpha Farrell, " Harriet said with a rather giggling tone." What's wrong with you Harriet, I asked."" Nothing Alpha Farrell, I'm just imagining the helpless look on your face when my lady pregnancy hormones rise to the top."" Are you making fun of me right now, Harriet."" No I would never make fun of you my Lord, I'm Just imagining things."Right, the star's yelled out my name." Farrrrreellllllll, she sc
Alpha Farrell's POVStar woke back up an hour later. She laid in the bed while I left to go call a doctor over." She's awake doctor, please come check on her doctor, my wife is awake."" Alright Alpha Farrell, I'll join you shortly."I walked back out of the doctor's office and took a bottle of water from the dispensary on my way back to the ward.Star's looked up at me as soon as she heard the door opening. She stretched her hands towards the bottle of water in my hand."I'll uncap it for you," I said and handed her the opened bottle of water. She took the bottle from my hand and drank it all in one gulp." Easy, easy, Star, you'll get yourself injured like that."" I'm hungry, Farrell, I feel like eating chicken nuggets and a heart shaped dessert."" You just had surgery and the doctor will be here to check on you, we'll see if you're able to eat all these foods you just mentioned."The doctor walked in right then." Good day my Lady, he greeted."Star answered him with a slight no
Archer's POVI noticed that Farrell was engulfed in a fight with Alpha Ryan and saw that it was my chance to get rid of him once and for all.I held the bow in my hand and positioned the arrow in the middle.I retracted the arrow and shot it in his direction." Farrell," I heard a familiar voice scream out loud, it was star's, her body was running towards Farrell and she pushed him out of the way to take the arrow." Starrrrrr," Farrell and I screamed out in shock. No this couldn't happen, nothing could happen to Star, I threw down the bow in my hands to the ground.Star's body fell on the floor and Farrell's demeanor changed in an instant.I saw him from where I was flip over Alpha Farrell and cut down his head in one move with move.I could Guess what was to become of me.And once again I lost to Farrell, this would be my last fight. My last moment and the imagination of what Farrell would do to me played through my eyes.Star, I Made a small call to her Her body had fallen on the
Alpha Farrell's POVI changed into my wolf form and ran outside the pack to the war front. The battle was bloody, it had never happened before.Somehow, the fighters from the nightingale pack were being hit right at their weak points and no one except the people in the pack knew the pack's weakness. There were so many attackers from the other side and I was constantly worried about Star.Even though I had left several bodyguards by the door, I still was restless. What If the same incident happened Again, there was no doubt about what disastrous things would happen to me.An arrow swooshed past my body meters away from me and I dodged in an instant.I went back to fighting the attackers and brought anyone that came my way down.Another bullet flew right above my head.I took a look at the person who shot the gun and leaped at him.Archer was in the battleground too, I felt relieved seeing him there, fighting with me and not Against me, it was good that we were able to settle our differ
Alpha Farrell's POVI carried Star back to the car and sat her down in the front seat before igniting the car to drive back home." I'm going back to eat my food leftovers, " Star said as soon as she walked inside the room.I felt an inexplicable feeling when Star behaved like that, like a cute little wife who was waiting to be pampered, but still, so many things had still been left undone, although we slept together, ate together, and did almost everything together, she was only my mate and not my wife.I was yet to put the rings in her hands and lawfully call her my wife.I knew what I had to do.I walked into the room where Star had walked to and saw her eating the food she had left over before we went to the pack.I stood still for a moment and wondered why Star enjoyed the haunted house. She was really unpredictable." I'll be right back Star, I've work to attend to," I said to Star as I walked in front of her." Mmm, okay, when are you going to be back."" I don't know how long
Alpha Farrell's POVI sat her down in the shower and took a sponge to scrub her body. Her body shone under the bright light of the chandelier.Blood rushed to a certain part of my body but now wasn't the right time. She needed to sleep and rest adequately.I washed her body and carried her back to the bedroom.I dropped her down on the bed and walked into the cloakroom to pick pajamas for her to wear.My stomach made a small noise and I knew what caused it.I'd have to go to the kitchen to make another meal lest I starve to sleep tonight.Star slept soundly as soon as she was comfortable on the bed while I slid off the bed to the kitchen.I stood in the kitchen for a while making a meal as quietly as I could.I didn't want to wake Star up from her sleep.30 minutes later, I sat down in the kitchen and ate the food silently before going back to the bedroom I drifted asleep immediately. I settled down on the bed holding Star's body to sleep.Next dayStar and I woke up at the same ti
