Chapter 161

CLAIRE's POV

Night came quicker than I expected, and darkness had shrouded every nook and cranny of the clan grounds. It was finally time to leave and I carefully slipped out of my room and tiptoed down the hallway.

I took careful steps out of the main building and tiptoed over to the darkest corner I could find. I placed my back on the wall, my eyes scanning the surroundings, in search of Luis.

The whole ground was as silent as a graveyard. The wolves that were working on rebuilding houses and clearing up the dead bodies had retired for the day. It helped that no single soul was in sight, but that also meant that Luis and I had to be very tranquil, or else, we could easily draw attention to ourselves.

I chewed on my finger tips as I impatiently waited for Luis. Worry began to encroach and fill my mind. Why was he not here yet? Was he alright? I pondered on these questions I could get an answer to.
