Chapter 76: Benumbed

Margarette's POV

Months had already passed from what happened to my parents as well as from what happened to me and Kayden. I have no idea about them anymore and even my friends because I shut my phone. This can't help me to move forward. I was able to help myself to recover from the pain I got when my parents died with the help of Hayden.

As I said before, Hayden provided me with another light after my darkest experiences in life. He never left me and even introduce me to new people, a new environment, and a new place to stay with. So many months had already passed and yet, I can't still forget Kayden. It was hard to forget that asshole because, despite everything that happened, he was still in my heart.

“You're thinking of your ex, aren't you?” I was back from my deep thoughts when I heard that voice. It was Avery, my new friend. She was Hayden's delta and was tasked to accompany me in here. At first, I tried to stop Hayden to assign someone for me, however, he will stop not until
