"Here's our marriage contract," Semion said, offering the organized papers to Celeste with a smile. "Read it aloud. If there's anything you want to add or change, let me know immediately."

The papers contained agreements they must follow in this upcoming marriage.

"This contract is entered into between Primo Semion Lombardi and Celeste Costa on September, 2024," Celeste read aloud from the first sentence.

"Continue," Semion said, settling opposite her.

Her eyes focused on the first section. "Public appearance. Both parties were expected to act as a committed couple in public, projecting an image of love and devotion to their friends, acquaintances, and the world at large…?" She glanced at Semion with curiosity.

He nodded. "That's right. When we're in public, we have to show that our relationship is real. We hold hands, hug, and even peck a kiss at worst. You know how socialization works; if people even sense a hint of suspicion, they'll start gossiping."
