While waiting for Edmund in his private plane, Isabella’s mind traveled to their recent discussion. Even if it hurt her to admit it, he read her right, he was entirely accurate.
It’s always been her dream to travel the world, but she'd barely set foot outside Madrid. She had her motives, but probably none legit or unshakable, some were just lame excuses.
“Do you need anything? A meal was ordered for you in advance, we can serve it to you now or a bit later, whenever you feel like eating.” The smiling face along with the polite tone of the flight assistant broke her train of thought.
“Meal?” She narrowed her eyes and shook her head in disagreement, at no point with the intention of being mannerless. “No, I’ve eaten recently, I’m not hungry, thank you!” She added, forcing a smile in response to the cordial proposal.
If she believed it was considerate of him to arrange everything from transportation to meals, hosting, clothing, it would be her little secret.
A warm smile made its way on her lips. ‘Is this how it feels being spoiled by a man? Ohh, how would I know? I’ve been independent all my life! Yet, interesting. I never thought I'd be the kind to enjoy this sort of pampering from a man, but I am.’
“Mister Stark warned us to prepare your favorite food, seafood pasta. So please call whenever you’ll have an appetite for it.”
“He did?” Her stomach did a little flip flop. “Anyway, let’s just wait for him too.”
‘I was not aware that little background checks also include inquiring about favorite foods.’
It didn’t seem to bother her that he went that far, it had quite the opposite effect.
“Don’t worry about him, he has a well-defined meal schedule.” She declared.
‘So it’s true, he must spend half of his time on this plane.’
Isabella could not miss the way the flight attendant talked about him, her manner of speaking screamed well founded care and admiration. He was either a great employer, or perhaps a lover, one of those two for sure, possibly both.
The woman was most certainly gorgeous, and the uniform she wore could easily be regarded as an outfit from erotic fantasies. Something whirled inside her at that idea, if she wouldn’t know better, she would think that she was jealous. Except, of course, that was not the case.
Against her better judgment, she wondered how he was as a lover, considerate and chivalrous, the way he was with her since they met, or wild and lascivious, the type his strong and manly features suggested. Either way, she concluded that he was definitely passionate and insatiable.
‘Isabella, please, for God’s sake, stop all this nonsense about the poor man! Please, snap out of this day dreaming, you’re already feverish with desire, and he is not the one appropriate to put out the fire!‘
“Are you not feeling well?” He appeared out of nowhere, his presence making her blush.
‘Crap! I don’t know if he’s reading my mind, but my cheeks are burning!’
She was wrapping her mind on things of no importance, but it was probably how her brain was coping with the situation of her sister’s accident, she was sure of that.
“Yes, I’m fine.” She added and looked aside, as he settled himself in the cozy chair in front of her.
“Fasten your seatbelt, we’ll be taking off now.” He warned and she complied diligently .

A few hours passed since the plane reached cruise altitude. She thoroughly examined the lavishly decorated interior of the plane, read all the available magazines and even listed in her head all the things she wished to tell her sister, good and bad.
‘I just hope she’ll survive! I need her to survive!’
She stole a glance at Edmund, he seemed undisturbed, caught into his own business. He had been working since the plane departed, ignoring her presence completely.
‘If he is even remotely aware that I exist, he is not showing it!’ She was disappointed. ‘I am half bothered by the fact that he can so easily ignore me and damn, I confess that his ability to focus in these troublesome circumstances is forcing me to look at him with admiration.’
“If you want to get some rest, the sleeping accommodations are in the rear of the plane. Plus you’ll find a bathroom equipped with a hot tub and a shower, in case you need to refresh a bit.” He stated, breaking the uncomfortable silence, her stare burning holes into his skin.
Edmund had spared no effort in the attempt to focus on his work since the plane took off. Reading the same document over and over again, the black letters on white background made no sense to him, he was unable to understand a word from it.
He was painfully aware of her presence, she made analytic thinking an unfeasible achievement.
Unlike all the other women he’d shared a space with, she was under no circumstances trying to catch his attention, and the fact that she genuinely showed no interest was precisely the element that kept him distracted, as weird as it may seem.
Women constantly offered themselves on a tray with no effort whatsoever from his part. Those women were eager to sleep their way to high society. Not her, she was not like that.
“I might, but not at the moment.” She casually responded, her eyes hinting caution.
He smirked. ‘What, is she thinking that I’ll jump on her in the shower? Not a bad idea, to tell the truth!’
Fantasizing about how her body looked without those baggy clothes was apparently more iminent than the business issues he had to attend to.
Putting the pieces of the Isabella puzzle together was a task that he ought to solve soon, his manhood grew hard at the mere thought more than once since they met. The sooner he got rid of the perturbation, the better.
He honestly hoped that she would leave his sight so he’d be able to do his job. Due to the recent events, his work has been delayed and his business partners were not the type to take justifications of private matters, as he wouldn’t either.
Trying to envision how she would look with her long legs wrapped tightly around his body, while she begged him to take her mercilessly, raw desire burning in her eyes and lustful moans filling the room...
‘Fucking hell! I cannot take this any longer, I need to retreat from here and I need to do it without delay!’ He jumped from his seat, startling her. ‘In fact, if I don’t fucking leave her presence now, I won’t take responsibility for what can happen.’
“Then you don’t mind if I go first.” He announced.
‘I’m going to attempt to cool myself in the shower.’
“Not at all.” She added, oblivious to the things she’s done to his figure.
He left the room and went straight under the cold water, to help with chilling out both his head and his body.
It was working.
With no warning and for the first time in its existence, the plane started whirling, it was difficult for him to maintain his balance.
‘Isabella, she’s in danger! We both are, us and the crew as well!’
He rushed out of the shower in an instant, headed to the place he’d left her, only to find her on the edge of a mental breakdown.
He knelt down, cupping her face between his hands, forcing her to look him into the eyes. “Breathe in, breathe out! Breathe in, breathe out!” He attempted to persuade her, at the same time pushing his own fears on the back of his head. “Just look me into the eyes and follow my lead! You will be fine, I promise!”
The rest of the crew was locked in the pilot cabin.
“Please, I don’t want to die! I didn’t even live until now! I did nothing of what I dreamed of, I never loved! I want to… I want to live!” She sobbed, tears rolling down her cheeks, holding his shoulders tightly, while gazing into his eyes with raw genuine panic.
His protective instincts blasted off, he lifted her body into his arms and carried her in the king-size bed from the room in the back of the plane.
‘If we are going to die, so be it, but we will do it in a heavenly way.’
Agonizing fear invaded Isabella’s body when the plane started spinning. The world seemed to come to an end and she was about to die alone, in a way few experienced, and none lived to tell, to share the emotions and the thoughts or the images that invaded their brain in their last minutes of life.It was not the sort of knowledge that would have been of help to any extent, but tears were soaking her cheeks as she cried her heart away. She had no dear person she would hate to leave behind, except maybe for her sister, even though in the last years they haven’t had much of a contact. Maybe Luisa will not make it either and she will never find out about her awful death. Maybe they would meet on the other side, if there was such a thing, she couldn’t know for sure. There was no lover who would miss her when weekends came and he would have to sing in his car alone, while going on short trips around the country. No husband who would yearn for her while making the bed at night or having brea
Dizzy from the shock, Isabella’s mind replayed the scenes where his mouth was on hers, she gently touched it. All the spots on her skin that made contact with his hands were still tingling with hot lust, every inch of her body tormented with some kind of biological urge that never hit her like that before. She blamed it on the fact that she was still a virgin and also didn’t use her sex toys since a while. Those were the reasons most certainly, not the fact that she had been craving to have a taste of the man from the moment she set her eyes on him in that third-rate diner. That was surely not the case. What happened a few minutes earlier was the result of a plausible set of circumstances, life and death situations can provide justifications even for the most unrealistic course of events.Would it have happened if not for the fear of death? Probably not.Stopping the time in the moment that their lips collided would have been gratification ordained by gods, she allowed herself to bel
‘No, he did not, he couldn’t have, I refuse to believe this. Did he?’ Isabella was in denial. He couldn’t have said those horrible things, she must have been imagining them, the shock was to be held liable for that sort of malfunction of her brain. Taking all factors into consideration, the distress from the last hours could be the foundation of these inconceivable thoughts of her. She glanced at him in bewilderment, uncertain if her short memory, the one that replicated his speech in her mind, was unblemished or if the panic of a viable airplane ordeal and the other incidents that followed altered it beyond cure. “What did you just say?” She inquired, being optimistic that it was all just a gloomy hallucination. “I said that you are to marry into the mighty Stark family. Although you are clearly not my type, you are to become my wife, a place coveted by the entire female population pertaining to the high society and by all the other women that strive to achieve a place in the wo
It happened again, Edmund’s analytical thoughts went astray after the lower side of her abdomen came in contact with his hard member, throbbing through the pants as it did all day long, threatening to escape and forge ahead to the most coveted place on Earth, her inner part.Like the world came to a halt, he felt nothing else, nothing but the shockingly heavy slap on his face she gave after he advanced that damn request to her, a proposition he believed to have been totally entitled to push forward.Clearly, she disagreed. He touched his face, it stung. It was the first time a woman slapped him, so it felt rather interesting. ‘She should beg me. She should!’Every other woman would have blatantly offered herself to him, doing whatever things necessary to benefit from a single touch from his part.‘Why would she be any different? God, how I’ve yearned to hear those fucking words!’Instead, after slapping him, she left his side, retiring in the sleeping area.If only she would have sa
‘Is it that horrendous that hearing him saying ‘you’re mine’ and talking about marriage and children does all kinds of wicked things to my body? Is it sinful that my core is trembling with a need that can only be satisfied by this arrogant man?’Isabella hated herself for her weakness, for the way her treacherous body responded to Edmund. She tried to remember when was the last time that she craved to be possessed with raw passionate carnal desire by a man, to be punished with maddening sex. Or when was the last time she felt a consuming urge deep inside, like some devil took control of her body. The answer was ‘never’.‘When did anybody make me feel so wet and desperate for some rough intimacy? Also, never.’Those were new feelings for her. She didn’t have a clue that she had it in her, and if not for Edmund, she might not have found out in a lifetime.Reading her mind, or maybe it was her yearning glance that gave it out, his eyes started traveling all over her body, the hot fervor
Isabella once again stared at him in disbelief, he had the audacity to assume that she could be threatened into a marriage.‘For God’s sake, is this man really serious?’ She could not stop her nervous blinking. She opened her mouth to speak out her outraged mind, but she bit her lower lip instead, deciding that the conversation should end there. It was not even worth wasting a breath, the minute she would walk out of there, she planned to avoid the ravishing man for the rest of her life.‘What person with a sane brain would ever believe that a marriage could be crafted on insults, accusations or intimidation? Is he some kind of Italian Don from some distant past where women were mere objects at a man’s disposal, where marriages relied on some sort of vendetta?’Though they met a few hours ago, he undeniably prevailed in invading her mind and her soul. She shed tears for reasons she could not completely identify, or maybe she just chose not to dig further into her heart. But even if s
‘Does this man find so much delight in making me miserable?’Isabella could swear to have seen his lips briefly form into a devilish triumphant smile, just before his face regained its usual cold appearance.‘For God’s sake, he just won a small battle, not the freaking war!’She had a well-established plan. She would find a way to get out of the abominable contract after seeing her sister. Luisa was the only one important at the moment, nothing else mattered.Though she was ashamed to admit, a treacherous part of her was perturbed by the existence of that Moira woman, that part of her wanted to know his connection to her.‘Why go to the extent of marrying me if he already had a woman? Are we really married now?’Deciding that she would not let the thought consume her mind, she was keen on getting out of the plane and filling her lungs with fresh air.‘Finally! Only God knows how suffocating this trip has been!’~~~It would have taken ages to pass through the airport immigration check
Edmund never liked nor sympathized with weaklings. Being resilient and unbreakable were family traits, teachings inoculated in his behavior from a young age. Therefore, it was understandable to be grueling for him to see Isabella so weak, yet there was something about her that made his protective instincts explode.Watching her laying in the bed, so innocent and vulnerable, but so exhausted, it was difficult to digest, it made him want to do the impossible to make it better for her.She was not frail when she fought against his accusations, she was not insecure either when she discarded his marriage proposal so many times. She was not actually weak, she was just a concerned sister, Luisa was the only family she had left.Well… except him. He was now her husband, her family, and he would have to explain that to her very clearly.‘She is not alone anymore, she has me. Would she faint like this if I were the one in danger, would she cry?’“If I would not know the mighty Edmund better, I
Isabella turned paper white pale when she locked eyes with the one she missed dearly, her heartbeats accelerated, her pulse started running wild. She blinked a few times, believing that she might be hallucinating. ‘Is he really here, in front of me?’ She waited for him the first days, she hoped, she really hoped that he would follow her to the UK, but with each day that passed, her faith subsided, he never even contacted her since she left. The more she thought about it, the more she concluded it was absolutely outrageous that he behaved as if they were mere strangers. Perhaps they were, but they still shared, even for a few days, the same last name, and not to mention the intimate moments. She was hurt, disappointed and ashamed for being so silly, so weak. Edmund forgot how to breathe when his eyes found the one that stole his heart in a matter of days, the one he never stopped thinking about, the same one that was the subject of both his worries and his fantasies. “You look
Edmund left soon after they had breakfast. Isabella was not only feeling disappointed, she was suffering a heartbreak. She knew they could not have been more different from the very beginning, and she was aware that sooner or later they were bound to follow their own separate paths, yet she was still unprepared for the painful sensation his words triggered in her body.‘Was this what fate had in store for me? To encounter the man of my dreams, have him and then lose him in a matter of days?’Not even for a split second did she regret meeting him, or for what it mattered, signing that contract, but it was clear for her that he did not think the same. There were too many things left unsaid between the two of them, and now it was too late to talk, he decided to send her away. It troubled her to the bones that after having such an exquisite night, he was so keen to get rid of her without a proper conversation. She had burned for him, and he claimed her as his own, tending to her needs o
Isabella slowly removed her robe and her nightgown, then peeled off her underwear. When her clothes hit the floor, she stepped out, pushing them aside. Standing naked in front of him and without breaking eye contact, she spoke in a heated voice. “I changed my mind! I’m going to take advantage of you after all!”‘This woman will be the death of me.’She was the most beautiful woman that walked on this earth for him, her curves were to die for and the innocence in her eyes undid him in every possible way from the start.Edmund’s lips shaped into a devious smile. “What about the poor sexual performance?”She stepped into the shower and as soon as the cold water hit her warm skin, she shivered both in cold and in delight. Her nipples hardened under his lustful regard, and she could feel herself growing wet between her legs.“Well, you seem like you have sobered up a little!”He adjusted the temperature of the water to a more convenient one and pushed her against the wall, turning her aro
At a first class lounge, waiting for Jason to arrive, Edmund was sipping from his ridiculously expensive, neat scotch, silently reprimanding himself for being such a major idiot. He always thought highly of himself, but the last events shook him off. Firstly, he failed to read into Moira’s façade. All that time, he was clueless. He was being fooled by a half-baked girl. Or was he the weak-minded one? She surely knew her game better than him.He loved her the way he would have loved a younger sister, but she stabbed him in the back and he never saw it coming.‘I wonder if this is what some parents feel about their children.’ He sighed. ‘My name brings instant fear to those who hear it and there I was, outplayed by a kid.’Secondly, there was Luisa. He accused her of taking advantage of his brother’s love to gain a slice of his vast wealth. Then he blamed her for causing an accident that nearly killed her as well. And to top it all off, he pressured her sister to sign an atrocious marr
Out of nowhere, and just before all the energy dropped from Isabella’s body, just when she was about to give up, she heard a loud bang followed by the door removal from the hinges. Her eyes flapped in the direction of the sound. ‘Edmund.’Edmund, accompanied by an entire team of policemen, stepped inside, and one of them shot Alec in the hand, forcing him to release the hold on her neck. She gasped for air.“Isabella!” The entire place echoed with her husband’s powerful voice. Her heart threatened to escape her chest as he rushed to her, untied her hands and lifted her body in his arms, staring at her with his sky-color soul sucking eyes. “Are you hurt?” He asked, checking her with his eyes. She shook her head and buried her face in his chest, inhaling his enticing masculine scent.‘I truly believed I would never be able to do this again!’ She rejoiced, holding tight to him.Fear was rushing in Edmund’s veins, inflaming his anger. “I thought I was losing my fucking mind without yo
“Moira!?” Isabella blinked nervously. “W-what are you doing here? W-why are you doing this?” She struggled to free herself, but the more she tried, the more she hurt her hands in the process.Moira glanced at her nail polish, looking bored. “I have many reasons, darling!”“B-but you are Edmund’s cousin. He really cares about you!” Fright and confusion heated her face. “You took care of my sister and Noah the night I arrived.”She smirked. “No, I was actually trying to find a moment to finish what Alec and I started and failed. Too bad the hospital surveillance was damn tight.”Isabella was choking on her tears, thinking Moira was too good of an actress. While she always had a weird gut sensation regarding Alec, she trusted Moira completely. She never had a clue about her schemes, she was such a good liar that it scared her. “What about the love story you shared with me?” She inquired, studying both villains. “Ohh, that? Of course, I made that up! Why are you so naive, Isabella?” “B
“Let me go!” Isabella shouted from the top of her lungs. She was struggling to release her hands from the ropes encaging them behind her back. It was useless, there was no result other than making her feel all weak and pathetic. “W-what is this place? And what are you talking about? M-my sister is fine!” Her voice was breaking as her heart thundered erratically against her chest.‘Luisa must be safe! Please, God, let my sister be safe!’Alec checked his watch and shook his head in disapproval. “By this time, my most trusted and highly skilled man should have already embarked your sister and Edmund’s brother on their trip to Hell, or Heaven, it really depends.” His lips shaped into a devious grin while speaking nonsense.“W-what? No, that’s not true!” She screamed, panic invading her already shivering figure.“Oh, trust me on that!” He assured her, full of confidence. “They were trouble, how dare they survive the car accident that I perfectly plotted, raising no suspicion at all!” H
Edmund was pacing anxiously around the room, making holes in the floor. He dialed Isabella's number again, but there was no connection. He got word that she left the hospital hours ago, so he honestly expected her to be home by then, yet she wasn’t, and for some odd reason he could not explain, he felt very uneasy.‘Did she not read my note? Did she not watch that fucking video?’He was so delighted when one of the nurses called to let him know that she ate everything on the plate before leaving. He was so glad that he rushed the meeting he had and speeded home, only to be faced with disappointment. At least to his satisfaction, Regina was already gone when he got here, she spared him of her dire and tremendously undesired presence. He loved her so much only to have his heart broken twice, first when she abandoned him, second when his brother confessed everything about the ten million dollars the cunning bitch preferred instead of him.‘The fucking bitch!’ He muttered a string of cur
Isabella’s senses were on high alert, yet she tried not to panic, nothing good was bound to come from that. “I am back. Alec, where are you? Alec?” She heard Moira’s voice outside along with footsteps, and she released the breath she did not realize that she was holding.Ales loosened the grip on her shoulder and opened the door. “I am in here, with Isabella, she needs her bag and tablet.”“But I left them in the living room.” Moira replied confused. His body stiffened suddenly. “I must have moved them with my luggage, my bad.”Isabella got a weird gut reaction being all alone with him in the suite and the fact that Edmund’s cousin returned lifted the suffocating burden from her chest.Watching the happy couple together made her feel that she panicked for nothing. Moira looked at him as if he was the only man on earth and he gazed at her the way one would gaze at their soulmate, that person that one could not live without.‘Why is my body responding like that when he is around?’Isa
