Flashback

"What?!!!" The doctor clamored in an unbelievable tone. He can't believe she just said this to him.

"Mrs. Censatio, I'm sorry but, I can't do this. I mean, the operation has been successfully done and in a few days, your daughter can be discharged. So, why would you bring in such an idea?"

"Do this for me and I will pay you a huge ransom of money. It's important for me."

"But still, I can't just-"

"1 million dollars."

"What?!!"

"I'm going to give you five hundred thousand dollars now if you agree to do this for me and, would balance the rest of the payment after the job is done. So, deal?"

She smirked as she saw the look on the man's face, there was no doubt, he won't turn her down.

"O.. okay. But, this is against the hospital rules. It might not turn ou-"

"Don't worry, I will take care of it. I'm Rose Hastington." She arrogantly speaks with a small creep at the side of her lip.

"Doctor, what are you saying? I need to pay for another three hundred and fifty thousand dollars? For what? I thought the operation has been successfully done?" Max asked in a confused tone.

How could this be happening to him?- he thought.

"Well, while carrying out the operation, we find out some few things wrong with your daughter and we had to call for another doctor's assistant, this made things much more complicated. We had to ask for their assistance to save your daughter, it's all for the best so, deposit $350,000 ASAP before your daughter could be discharged."

"But, where do you expect me to get such a huge amount of money from? Please, doctor, do something about this. I don't have such an amount of money."

"Then, be ready to be sued"

"Sued? How?! For what?! When did hospitals begin to sue their patients?! What nonsense are you talking about?!" He busted angrily as he jumps up from his seat.

"Screaming at the top of your lung won't help the situation, Mr. Maximillion. I would advise you to get the money in the next twenty-four hours else, be ready to face the punishment. Please, leave my office." The doctor dismissed him.

He got no other choice but to get up and walk out of his office in a distressed state. He has no idea how comes his life has become this meaningless all of a sudden.

On his way out, he mistakenly bumped into someone but neither did he bother to apologize or talk to the person. The only thing on his mind is how to find the money so he could take his daughter home.

"Hey" She passes him a small smile.

"Hey, Sophie." Ken smiled too. Ken is her childhood friend and neither do they hide anything from each other.

She hasn't been feeling too good for the past weeks and came over days back to do some check-ups. She was asked to come back for the result and here she's. After they both exchanged pleasantries, she took her seat but, the image of the young handsome man she bumped into minutes back flashed in her psyche, and couldn't help but ask the doctor about him.

"Ken, about the young man that just came out from your office..." She trailed off.

"Yes, he's a guardian to one of our patients. You know him from somewhere?" He questioned.

"No, not at all." She shook her head vigorously. "He looked distressed. Is everything okay with him? Please, I will be glad if you can tell me the truth." She beseeches him.

She had no idea why she was like this all of a sudden, the young man she saw minutes back interested her all of a sudden. And, she would do all it takes to know him better- she told herself.

He explained everything to her, including the part where Rose wants to extort from Max.

"That's terrible!" She commented in a stunned tone. "She must be obsessed with money! How could she think of such a thing?" She added.

"Well, you can say that again."

"And you agreed?" She glared at her friend.

"I have no other choice, Sophia. She's the prime minister's daughter. I wouldn't want to get myself involved in their problem."

"But still-"

"Let's concentrate on what brought you here first." He cut her off. She eyed him and he pass her a sheepish smile.

Ever since Ken passed the news to her, she wasn't herself anymore. She's been shedding tears and getting herself drunk at the same time. It's been two days already but, she doesn't want to believe the news. She has leukemia and is also in the last stage.

She only has three months left to live- those were Ken's words to her before she ran out of his office days back.

She anonymously helped Max pay for his daughter's bill and beseech Ken to help her get in touch with Maximillion's wife, Rose. She's made up her mind to get herself a man who would love and cherish her before her demise. And she believed, Max is the right man for her.

Two Weeks Later

Maximillion Censatio

"What?! Are you crazy?!." Max busted angrily at his wife. He just came in and all he wanted to do is just to relax and calm his head down after spending the whole day stressed but, the news his wife just buzzed to him got him more stressed than he was.

She just finished telling him about her conversation with the rich lady she went out to meet earlier today. She might have been telling him about the rich lady she met days back through a friend- so she told him and, he never took any of it serious. Now, he had no idea why she would go meet with her again and tried bargaining with her.

"No, I'm not doing anything as such. I will never and ever do that to you, Rose." He said in a pissed tone. He doesn't know exactly what her problem is.

Is money everything to her?- he thought.

He couldn't believe his wife inferred him to take in another wife all because of the lady's wealth. She wanted him to marry the rich lady in a swap for her wealth.

And she expects me to accept her crazy idea? Hell no! I'm rejecting her crazy offer- he thought to himself.
