Chapter 35

Kaia's POV

As I ran, I heard Kieran's footsteps behind me, trying to catch up with me. He was calling out to me but I kept going until I got to the room. I slammed the door shut, the sound echoing through the room, resting my back against it, feeling the cool wood against my skin.

Tears pricked at the corner of my eyes as I bent down, wrapping my arms around my legs and burying my head in between my knees, I let the tears fall. I hated how easy it was for me to cry.

“A rogue? Goddess!" His mom had said, spitting the word ‘rogue’ with so much disgust. “You knew this and still went ahead to mark her?” She asked.

Kieran's voice sounded strained, “I don't care, she's mine and that's not going to change.”

The words played over and over in my head, maybe it'd hurt less if I heard it long enough

Kieran made an attempt to open the door but nothing happened since I already locked it. Even without seeing him, I knew he was running his hands through his hair.

Kieran's pov I sat in my office, my eyes fixed on the documents. It had been a long time since the work had been pending, since I had to deal with other things but it was high time I worked on it. “Fuck! How the fuck do I let them get to this point before attending to them?" I thought, groaning lightly. It's like I never learn. “We had other important things to deal with." King said. Spending time with our mate was definitely more important. There was a slight knock on my door, taking my attention of the documents for a minute and that was very much needed. "Come in..." I called and the door creaked open, revealing my Beta and Gamma. The two of them entering together was never good news. “Alpha." They said, bowing their heads before taking the seats on the other side of the table. I turned my head back to what I was doing and Caleb did the same, as if he wasn't the one who dropped there in the first place. “I had the guards release Ida from the dungeon earlier,"

Chapter 37Kieran The sound of someone knocking jolted me awake, having dozed off while working. I resisted the urge to groan at the disturbance. “Come on in” I called, adjusting myself properly on the chair. “Alpha,” Caleb greeted, making his way towards me. He was looking just as tired as I was. But while his own was probably because of patrol, mine was having to deal with my mom and also making sure that Kaia was okay, not thinking about what she heard. I was disappointed that my mom would suggest keeping Kaia around and have another woman be my Luna. I couldn't be more wrong when I told Kaia that my parents would love her. “What's up?” I asked, gently massaging my temple to help with the headache that was quickly forming. “I want to give you a run down of patrol last night, but I can come back." His eyes took in all the papers scattered all over my desk. “It’s fine, What do you have for me?” I ask, tearing my eyes away from the papers and sitting up straight

Chapter 38Kaia's pov I was grinning from ear to ear, I couldn't wait to go on a date with him. “Did he tell you where he's taking you too?" Dani asked, putting finishing touches on my makeup. She was eager to help me with my makeup when I told her about my date with Kieran. I shrugged, “he just said I should get ready." “And that is very helpful." She snorted. She got started on curling my hair. It was already six thirty which means I had thirty minutes left to get ready. Once she was done with my hair, she let it fall on my shoulders. Then she picked out a few dress options from my closet. She crossed out jeans and shorts, so I was left with gowns. We settled on a red gown that stopped mid thigh. It hugged every part of my body. Even without seeing my reflection, I still felt good. “And we're done!" Dani announced, beaming widely as she turned the mirror to face me. “I look good!" I thought, taking in my features. It was hard to remain self conscious when she u

Chapter 39Kaia's pov. I froze in my spot, watching as she came closer to me. She couldn't have let me end this already perfect date well. For very obvious reasons, I avoided running into her as much as possible. Kieran said she would be leaving soon but he wasn't sure either. A part…all part of me was looking forward to that. “Why was she even in the pack house at this time?" I thought. I turned to see if Kieran was nearby but there was no such luck. Soon, she stood in front of me and stared me down with her nose in the air as if I was merely dirt she could crush under her heels. “Ma-” I begin but she cut me off with a raise of her left palm, easily silencing me. “I was Luna of this pack once, you'll address me as such, you wolfless creature” She yelled, her eyes turning black but they returned to their original color almost immediately. I wanted to tell her I had a wolf but couldn't shift but I doubt that would make any difference. “You should never be here,

But all of sudden, she couldn't stand the sight of me. My heart felt tight and King had been very quiet since she started ignoring us, we were even blocked out of her mind. “..Alpha?” I heard someone call and I snapped out of my haze to stare at my beta and gamma who took a glance at me and back to each other. I definitely didn't sleep well and now, I am lost in thoughts. “What?” I asked harshly and they gulped, I considered apologizing for my tone but I was feeling too hurt and preoccupied by thoughts of kaia to even think of doing anything else. “We have to go train with the new recruits, Alpha” And with that, they both left me in the office alone and I felt the wheels in my head turn. What recruits? Recruiting of new warriors was not till a month from now. I didn't care to think much about it because my mind soon went

Chapter 41 Ryder’s POV -(To show you his view on his relationship with Allie) I have never been so confused…maybe I have, but this was just over the top. I wanted a mate, one that the moon goddess prepared for me. I wanted something like what Caleb and Dani shared and even Kieran. But at the same time, there was no denying the attraction I felt towards Allie. And for the longest time, trying to ignore felt like a waste of time especially when she felt the same way. Before she clocked eighteen, that was two years ago, I hoped she was going to mine. That hole was crushed when my wolf didn't recognize her as ours…even Kaid was disappointed. But one thing led to the other that night and ever since then, a part of me couldn't stop thinking about her, misses her when she wasn't close. “What are you thinking hard about?" Caleb asked, jolting me back to reality. “Taking over your position." He snorted, “if you weren't so lazy, I'll believe that?" He said. “I'm offended." I

Chapter 42Kaia's POV After Kieran's conversation with his mom, things got worse. And it didn't help that a few members of the pack heard about it, so they sometimes glared at me without saying anything. Dani also tried her best to assure me that with time, she'd come around but I'm sure even she didn't believe that. But now, I focused on ignoring everywhere that she might go. I couldn't exactly talk to Allie, it was her mom we're talking about and the last thing I wanted was for her to hate me too. “Allie isn't like that." Lylah assured me. I sighed, "I know. I hate that Kieran is going against his mom because of me.” My mom wasn't here, but I know how much I would give to make sure she was happy. "Would you have left your mate if she wanted you to?” Lylah aaked, and a look of horror crossed my features. “Of course not,” I replied, offended that she'd even think that. "Exactly, then why are you worried about our mate leaving us because his mother chose to be an

Chapter 43 Kaia's POV Instead of going back to the pack’s hospital, I stayed in Kieran's arms in his office, enjoying the warmth his body provided while trying not to think too much. Kieran could tell that something was on my mind, but he just watched me without saying anything…I did say I didn't want to talk about it. “Oh," I started, sitting upright abruptly, causing Kieran to go into protective mode. “What's wrong, Bella?” He asked, his voice laced with concern. "Are you hurt?” His brows furrowed in confusion, but he still checked his body just in case there was something he was missing. I fought back a smile at how confused he looked. “I heard training was intense today and I met some people in the hospital, injured during training and then I tried mind-linking you but I didn't get a response.” "I'm sorry you were worried.” He apologized, pulling me into his arms again and I didn't fight it. "You know what will make me feel better?” I asked. His eyes n

She was finally getting a hang of it. But as I looked at her now, all I could think about was the conversation I had with Lylah. “Luna!" She called, running to meet me. "I'm glad you're okay. I was worried something was wrong." She said, wrapping her hands around me. “I'm okay." I assured her. She held my hand, telling me everything that happened while I was away. The girls went on with their normal work, but from time to time, they jumped in and out of the conversation. “Excuse me, Luna." Ryder's familiar voice interrupted, and we kept quiet, turning to look at him. "Don't tell me Kieran sent him to check on me.” I thought, a smile appearing on my face. He had mind-linked me every few minutes to make sure I was okay and now that isn't enough, he had to send someone. "That's so sweet!" Lylah coo

Kaia carrying our pup was the best news and more than anything I could ask for. “Alpha," Caleb called, but paused when he saw the look on my face. “I'm not sure I can tell if I really interrupted you or not." He said, considering the fact that I snapped at him earlier when he mindlinked me. Ryder, who was lying down on the couch snorted, “you should be happy he's in a good mood. My poor ass can't handle him if he's not.” I rolled my eyes, before going to my desk ready to get back to work. “What did you get?" I asked him. Ryder stood up and came towards us, pulling a chair for himself as Caleb spread out the papers in front of him. “According to the description Nessa gave, those men sound different from what we're looking at…” he started. "And a question I can't push out of my head, is if she's a target too.” Ryder added. He had a point, it

Chapter 106 Kaia's POV It took a lot of convincing for Kieran to believe that I was capable of being alone and could take care of myself. He literally followed me to the bathroom just in case I needed help there. I was enjoying it though so I let him. But when Caleb mind-linked him to tell him something about the rogue that shot Nessa and Kieran replied that he should deal with it, I sent him away. As much as I wanted him to stay by my side, he had an obligation to fulfill. Besides, the doctor assured us that there was nothing to worry about in the first few weeks. I pulled a shirt over my head as I got ready to meet the girls. I was going to tell them about my pregnancy and I was eager to see their reaction. “How do you think is the best way to tell them?” I asked Lylah, but I was met with silence. Kieran nodded, a proud smile etched on his face as he stared at me, I could tell that he was struggling to keep his excitement in. But I couldn't share the excitement as panic gripped me, my conversation with Lylah before I insisted on healing Nessa came flooding back. “Was this why she was warning me?" I thought, “she could've told me." Noticing the frown on my face, Kieran's smile slowly vanished as he moved closer to me. “I'm sorry…” he started and my head snapped to him. What was he sorry for? "I should've been more careful…" “What are you talking about?" I asked, lifting his chin to look at me. “It's okay if you're not ready to have a baby yet…I should've asked…” Without letting him complete his words, I kissed his lips and I felt his body stiffened. Chapter 104 Dylan's POV If there was a conversation I was dreading, it was the one I was going to have in a few minutes when Allie walks through the door…it was inevitable. For me, the relationship started as a way to mess with Ryder but I couldn't say the same anymore. Although, a part of me knows that she was never mine in the first place, having seen the way that she looked at him and it was fine…he was one lucky son of a bitch. I could also see the efforts he was putting into talking to her which she ignores most of the time. The door swung open and Allie entered wearing her signature smile that was bright enough to throw any man off their feet. “Let me tell you,” She began, "if Kieran changes his mind on letting tag along to this Alphas’ event, I'm going to throw a tantrum.” I let out a chuckle, easing the tension in my chest. "You're not supposed to be there in the first place.” She rolled her eyes, "and you think I don't know that?" She asked, and I raised

Using the poison on myself was a risk I took but with my stepmom being unable to shut her mouth, I didn't want to delay it anymore. Felix needed to get his plan moving…and for the first time, he decided to involve me. Besides, playing the sweet innocent girl was becoming exhausting. I probably should've come up with a better excuse than not feeling well…but how was I supposed to know that she was going to snoop around looking for my house. “Because she's not the bad person.” My subconscious mind told me. So…it wasn't like I had anything against Kaia, she's nice and all, maybe too trusting. But she was the easiest and fastest way to get to Kieran and then to his p

Ryder sulked that he wanted to be the one to go instead of Dylan but he changed his mind when Kieran glared and the memory of the last time we went together filled my head. And he definitely wasn't going because he wanted to keep us safe or anything, Allie still hasn't given him the chance to talk. It was no surprise when a few hours into the shopping, I was tired. But Nessa was having fun so it was worth it. The gloomy expression was long gone and a permanent smile was in its stead. “Which girl gets tired of shopping? Don't you guys survive on that?"
