LOGINLyra’s POV
I watched in awe as a convoy of cars approached the pack house. My heart raced with excitement as I caught sight of these sleek, modern vehicles, unlike anything I had ever seen before and my curiosity grew more and more at that moment, as I wondered who the guest was and how influential he was.
A tall, imposing figure man with dark hair and sharp jawline got out of the first car. One of the men in suit opened the door for him. He radiates confidence and power making him so impossible to ignore. They walked towards us and stopped in front us.
Suddenly, the air was filled with a strong, dominant aura, instantly I saw the omegas behind me trembling, lowering their gaze to avoid eye contacts, the Alphas bowing their heads in submission to the powerful man, I alone stood tall amongst them, my back straightened, and my eyebrows arched in amazement as I fought the urge to submit to his aura, the reasons not clear to me probably because I found him handsome and I was almost daydreaming of me in his arms when my father’s voice jerked me back to reality.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” my father whispered, his eyes filled with fear. I turned to face him, confused as to what I did wrong.
“Do you want to get us all killed? Bow down,” Luna Ophelia breathed, tugging my dress gently as she urged me.
I followed cue and bowed my head. The tall figure man approached me, his eyeball darkened, full of fury. Surprisingly, my father stepped in front of me, blocking the man’s path. I didn’t expect that from him.
"'Is this how you treat your guests here?' Alpha Darko's deep voice growled, his tone dripping with menace. He forcefully shoved my father aside, his movement swift and commanding. “Hold your ground!” he barked, his eyes flashing a warning. With a glare that sent shivers down my spine, he snarled, “Don't even think about standing in my way.”
“Forgive her, Lycan Logan, I’m sure she meant no disrespect,” he said with a trembling voice.
The moment I heard his name, I knew I was in trouble. Lycan Logan, the ruthless and feared Lycan in the werewolf world. His reputation for merciless dealings and brutal suppression of any opposition struck fear into the hearts of all. The mere mention of his name sent shivers down the spines of even the most courageous Alphas, including my father, who trembled with fear. I realized then why everyone was under is aura.
I knew I was in trouble. I could feel Luna Ophelia eye's and gaze piercing me.
“You speak when you’re spoken to, Darko,” he growled, his voice low and menacing. “Do you know what I do to those who speak out of turn? I cut off their tongues.” he spoke to my father while looking at me.
He gestured to me, his words clipped and short, and my legs instantly moved in urgency to obey his order, as though I had been hypnotized.
“Raise your head,” he barks in his Alpha’s voice, dripping with a dominance that allows no argument.
I raised my head, and I found myself staring into his face. A few strands of black hair fell across his forehead. His eyes were wide with rage. I could feel his gaze burning into me. The intensity of his gaze sent a shiver run down my spine, and I forced myself to hold his gaze. I had to be strong, and I had to show him that I wasn’t afraid of him. But it was hard to withstand him. His good look and fierce anger is both captivating and unsettling at the same time.
"Name Yourself." His eyes blazed with intensity, his deep voice commanding. Before I knew it, he already held my neck, cutting my air intake.
“PL.... Let me go,” I tried to shout, but it only turned into a whisper. My eyes started watering, and I struggled with him, scratching his arm as he held my neck.
“Do you think you can defy me? I demand answers when I ask you a question.” His face held anger as his grip on my neck tightened. Tears rolled down my cheeks.
“Am I understood?” I tried to nod to answer the question, but it was difficult. All I could manage was a small, jerky movement of my head. “Yes,” he smirked, as he let go of my neck.
I collapsed to the ground, gasping for breath. I tried to calm my racing heart and steady my breathing.
“I’m so sorry, for what transpired here, accept my apologies, the moon knows I’ve tried my best to rein her, but she’s a wily thing, please accept my apologies,” my father said bowing down in respect to the Lycan.
“I understand she’s your daughter. I will be delighted to clip her claw and train her to my taste,” he said.
Wait a minute, what does he mean by training me to his taste? What exactly is going on here? These questions ran through my dazed mind.
“I trust you will let’s proceed into the Hall. We have a business to discuss,” my father said, his arms stretched in motion to the entrance of the pack house. Before leading the Lycans into the pack house, he barks orders at Calantha.
“Don’t just stand there, clean her up, will you?” He shouts at Calantha, the head Omega. “Such a disgrace,” he said, shaking his head in disapproval and Ophelia hissed as she followed him.
“Let’s get you cleaned up,” she said, dragging me to my feet. I could hear the giggles of other omegas and Kaida. I sneered at them and kept walking to my room.
“I don’t understand why you keep defying your father at every turn. Can’t you spare yourself the beatings, shame, and anguish?” Her eyes were filled with pity.
“I’ll get you a pain reliever since you heal like a human,” running her hands through my hair.
This is a normal occurrence that I have gotten used to over time. I don’t get why they blame me for my mother’s death. I didn’t kill my birth mother. It was unfortunate that she died during childbirth.
"I know my dad lost his mate, and the pack lost their Luna, but it's not my fault! I lost my mom too, and that hurts a lot. After I took some medicine to feel better, I decided to stay in my room. I'll stay here where it's safe. I don't need to go out there anyway. They think I'm useless and a disappointment. I sighed as the thought ran through my mind.
I closed my eyes, wishing the pain away, when a knock on the door echoed through the room. “The Alpha requests your presence in the hall, now,” the voice behind the door said, and walked away before I could respond.
I changed into a flowing dress and made my way downstairs to the gathering hall, where the meeting was being held. The hall was filled with the murmur of voices and tension, and I could feel all eyes on me as I entered. I met them in the middle of the discussion and took my seat beside my father on the right hand side, an empty seat I knew was reserved for me. Luna Ophelia and Kaida sat on the left-hand side their eyes fixed on me with despise.
At first, I wasn’t interested in their talks, as they kept talking about some gems, weapons, reinforcement and strategies, passing papers around, and I continued to play with my fingers under the table. Till they started talking about the wedding but I couldn't help but wondered whose wedding.
“This concludes our negotiation. I propose a toast…” he stood up, raising his glass, “to prosperity, love, and allegiance,” clicking his wine glass with others at the table and the Lycan. He bent, pecked Ophelia on the cheek.
“The wedding is tonight,” Lycan Logan said in a tone that is low and intimidating, “But...” My father tries to argue, but a look from the Lycan shuts him up. “Of course, that settles it then. Tonight’s the wedding,” turning to address the crowd.
“My eldest daughter is to be mated to his royal Highness, spread the word.” He announced to the crowd, turning to Calantha, “Make preparations, the wedding’s tonight!”
“Cheers to their union.” The sounds of clinking glass, loud cheers, and howls filled the hall.
I stood up in shock. “What? No, I do not agree to this, Father.”
Alpha Owen’s POV The burden and anxiety I felt before getting here immediately increased as I entered Lycan King Logan’s meeting chamber. The packhouse was an apartment building, looking so modern, and one would think it was a hotel from the look outside. I was led to the door of a room where two guards stood on either side of the doors, their eyes cold and unyielding as they watched me. It was clear this was no warm reception. I swallowed my uneasiness, straightened my shoulders, and strode forward. I had faced many enemies in my lifetime, but Lycan King Logan was a different kind of beast. Ruthless, calculating, and terrifyingly powerful, he was not someone to cross lightly. Yet here I was, summoned like a criminal to answer for my so-called failures. The doors shut behind me with a resounding thud as I entered the room. King Logan was seated at the head of a long table, his piercing gaze locked on me the moment I walked in. His presence was suffocating, an aura of dominance s
Alpha Owen’s POV “Fuck this,” I cursed, running a hand through my hair then down my face.I was in this shit because of Lyra. She has caused me nothing but trouble and she couldn't even do just one thing right. What did I expect when her mother was wolfless as well. I was hoping my gene were going to overpower her mother’s gene but she's trash and unworthy of my bloodline.I had made a stupid mistake when I was younger of even thinking of fucking her mother. I have always blamed the mate bond for it. The tension in my office was thick as I paced back and forth, my mind racing with things I could have done differently and possibilities of what to expect at Stormbringer pack. Nothing good would come from this meeting. I knew it as surely as I knew my own name. Lycan King Logan had summoned me to his pack, and I had no choice but to obey. His summons weren’t invitations. They were commands, and refusing him wasn’t an option. Not if I wanted to keep my head attached to my shoulders. I
Lycan King Logan's POVSitting in the midst of the council of elders, I struggled to stifle a yawn. Bored out of my fucking mind but no choice than to hear them out as the meeting dragged on. As the Lycan King, I had no choice but to hear them out, respecting their position and tradition. Their position in the pack can't be abolished yet they all knew that my word was law. My decisions, though sometimes might be influenced by their counsel, were always final. They knew how strong headed, unyielding I could be. I nodded, acknowledging their contributions as they suddenly shifted the topic to what I wasn’t expecting. I straightened in my chair. There was a sudden tension in the council chamber that was intense. I was seated at the head of the long, polished table, my eyes scanning them before me. Their tones were cautious, but there was an undercurrent of defiance that I hadn’t heard from them in years. It was almost surprising.“Lycan King Logan,” one of the elders, Elder Gregor, bega
Alpha Owen’s POV I paced my office with my hands folded behind my back, the sound of my boots hitting the wooden floor echoing in the silence. My wolf, Vex, growled low in my mind, his frustration mirroring exactly what I felt. It had been a week since Lyra disappeared, and my patience was wearing thin. Every passing hour only makes my frustration grow more. She was my daughter, my blood and my property. She couldn’t have gone far. She was not smart enough or strong enough to stay off my radar for long, except someone had helped her. “Where could she have gone?” Vex snarled.“Whoever is helping her will pay for this,” I growled. “They’ll pay in blood,” I muttered out loud.I clenched my fists, my nails digging into my palms. That ungrateful girl. After everything I had done for her, she had the audacity to run away. I had fed her, clothed her, and given her a roof over her head after her mother died. And this was how she repaid me? By running off like some rebellious pup?“We need
Lyra’s POV “No,” I snapped. After I snapped at her, she disappeared to the back of my head and left me to my meal. Thinking that was all. Immediately I was done, I leaned back against the chair when I felt her stirring in my head again, but she said nothing. I sat in the chair idle and not knowing what to do next, aside from sleeping or sitting. This was the part I wished I was back to Frostbite, where I was always busy working, running errands or helping Calantha out. I never had friends at Frostbite. Anyone I tried to make friends with became an enemy of Kaida. Even while others went to school, I couldn’t. At first, I did, but when Kaida was older, bullying me and making my classmates turn against me, I decided I was done with school. She made life unbearable for me since her mother kept feeding her the idea of Father making me Alpha since I was the first child. Kaida and Luna Ophelia have been trying all possible means to get rid of me. I won’t be surprised if it was Luna Ophe
Lyra’s POV Staring at the ceiling while I laid on my back, Alpha Cormac’s sudden change of attitude baffles me and I can't help but think about what brought about the changes. His response to my question before he left lingered in my head. It sounded so sweet and assuring with a hint of sincerity. I was his mate, but I didn't expect him to welcome me with open arms considering the circumstances of how I came into his pack and what went down afterwards. Was all the threats just a facade to make me cower at his feet?I knew he had his doubts about my intentions and just an Alpha doing his duties for the safety of his pack. It was in the early afternoon when a soft knock sounded at my door, pulling me out of my thoughts. I turned toward the sound, expecting Matilda or perhaps Alpha Cormac himself, but instead, a young woman stepped in, balancing a tray with a covered dish with one of her hands as she pushed the door wide open with the other hand.I swung my legs over the side of th

Lyra’s POV My breath hitched when I saw Alpha Cormac step inside. His presence filled the room instantly, commanding attention even in silence. I sat up straighter on the bed, unsure of what to expect and why he was here. “What are you doing here?” I blurted out in shock.Alpha Cormac’s expressi
Alpha Cormac’s POV I swirled the whiskey in the cup gently. The whiskey has been the only thing relieving me of my worries for a while now. I felt a faint hint of relief settle in my chest. The shipment had been successfully delivered to Alpha Thane’s warehouse two days ago, and the buyer had to b
Lyra’s POVIt's been three fucking days.Three long, excruciating days. Three days of being locked up in this room. The soft light filtering through the window in the corner of the room gave me a sense of time, though it felt more like a curse than a blessing. Each hour that passed stretched int
