107 - Taking the reins

[Eskaal’s pov]

Returning to my home in Gravestone pack after weeks away, I could feel the tension in the air even before I entered. The grand entrance hall, adorned with the mockery I had received and dimly lit by flickering torches, seemed to hold an atmosphere of impending confrontation. I took a deep breath knowing that my father would be awaiting, steeling myself for the inevitable clash that awaited.

As I stepped into the hall, my father stood there, a formidable figure with a stern expression etched upon his weathered face. His eyes, the same shade of intense blue as mine, bore into me with a mixture of disappointment and anger.

"Eskaal," he began, his voice a low growl that seemed to reverberate through the very walls. "Where have you been?" His voice carried a blend of anger and concern. Sure enough, as I stepped into the grand foyer, his stern voice echoed through the halls. I knew it was coming and was inevitable.
