CHAPTER 10

Aura’s pov

The carpets were stinky and burned my nostrils but I still made up my mind to sleep here. I know i was pushing myself to the limit but there’s no other option i got for myself. I don’t want to give anyone trouble because of me.

My heart sank deeper and deeper in thoughts of imagining my mate with some other she-wolf, but when he isn’t considerate about me then why should I think about it much? In fact, the truth is far far away from the reality and the imagination I had in my mind regardings mates.

I was so stupid to think that my life will change when my mate will claim me but nighter i got the mate of my dreams nor i was claimed the way i wanted to be.

It was a forceful act from him, upon me. Like i was his fucking property and he is the owner. All I wanted to be something important in their life, not a regretful relationship. I wish he would have killed me there in the cupboard and I never would have seen such miserable things. I have seen more miserable things in my pack but this one truly stabbed my heart.

When I keep thinking about my ungrateful life, I eventually fall asleep. I woke up to the sound of someone laughing. Actually, there were more people laughing near me.

I opened my eyes and saw many wolves and she-wolves around me. They were laughing and snorting at me. And then I realized why they were laughing. Someone wrapped a duct tape around the carpet I was sleeping on. I got stuck and I can't move out.

“Help!!!” I cried.

“Look at her! She is such a loser!” the people around me passed mean comments.

“Tsk tsk!!! Watch her crying…. She is so miserable. Who taught this drag could be a Luan of this pack one day….” a sh-wolf approached with her eyes sharpened at me.

She was really beautiful with a curvy figure and ash blonde hair, falling to her waist. She was looking at me like I disgusted her. But I never did anything wrong to her.

“Please, help me!!!” i cried but everyone just made fun of me.

Leah appeared out of nowhere and tried to remove the duct tape attached to the carpet.

“Get away!!! Stop giving others trouble when you can’t handle them at your side….” she shouted at the other wolves and most of them ran away, except the Blonde she-wolf.

Leah was helping me when the blonde She-wolf commented, “rag always attracts rag…”

“Don’t you ever say this, Pauline! You should never forget your roots…” Leah said to her but it was above my head.

I was out from the stinky carpet and I thanked Leah for her genuine help, “thank you so much..” I smiled at her but there was this significant frown on her face, “what happened?” i asked.

“I told you to stay with me last night but you slept here? Why didn’t you tell me you have no room for yourself? I could have asked the delta female to give a spare room.” 

“I'm sorry… i don’t want to give you more trouble but i did give you another anyway….” i apologized..

“Come with me…” she commanded and I followed her to the end of the wing.

She knocked on the door of a random room. A gorgeous red haired woman opened the door. She was radiating power which means she is not a regular wolf here.

“Donna… i need a favor..”

“Leah? What;s wrong?” she asked and then her eyes travelled to me, observing me from head to toe.

“This is a rogue wolf who was accepted in the pack recently but she has no place to sleep. If possible, can you allot a spare room to her. She slept in the pile of stinky carpets last night.” Leah explained to her.

Donna scrunched her nose, “that explains a lot. Fine, let me see if we have some spare single room for her.

After a discussion, I got myself a room. A small one one i was okay with it. Now, I have a personal space where I can live the way I want, away from the judging eyes of fellow packmates.

Leah handed me the keys and left after sometime. She said she will help me arrange some furniture after her shift gets over.

In the meantime, I decided to take a bath because the stink was radiating and burning my eyes even. The bathroom was so small, I could only bathe while standing there. I don't mind as something was better than nothing.

The water was cold as fuck but i took a bath anyway. I was clean and looking better. I found some spare clothes in the small cabinet and I wore them without hesitation. They were a little loose but better than what I was wearing.

I was sitting in the room, getting bored and suddenly, an idea struck. I went to Donna, the delta female.

“Ummm.. hi..”

She turned to me, “oh. You? You want something?” she asked after looking at me pensively.

“Yes! Do you have a job for me? Anything will work.” I requested.

She looked sternly at me and replied, “can you wear clothes? I have a huge pile of laundry and the washer is broke.

She is making it difficult for me but I agreed. Donna took me to the laundry area and my jaw hit the floor to see the piles of clothes around. It was like they haven’t washed a cloth in years.

“Make sure to wash whites and coloured separate.”

Donna instructed and left. I quickly took out detergent and other necessaries to wash the clothes. First , I washed the whites and took them to dry in the open air.

I was putting the clothes on the stand when I heard a ;oud grow behind me which made me jump on my feet. As I turned, I faced his fiery green eyes which penetrated deeply into mine.
