IRIS

"You're seriously going to teach me?" I inquired when I heard Dylan's last statement. I was not expecting him to agree to teach me, let alone train me so hearing him say that he would do so came as a shock to my entire being.

"You just heard me say I would, so why are you still asking?"

I shrugged. "I'm just surprised. And besides it's not like you strike me as someone who would agree to teach me. You're the worst, Mr. Wolfman, and you have never agreed to a thing I say before now. So who wouldn't be surprised?"

"What exactly are you driving at?" He scrunched his face as he faced me squarely.

"I don't know. I guess what I'm trying to say is what's the catch?"

He rolled his eyes. "There is no catch." He muttered under his breath and proceeded to continue with whatever he had been doing before I walked in. "You just said it yourself that you are weak and helpless and that you wanted me to train you. Those are valid reasons in my books, and if I can help you to get better at your cr

IRISThe sound of my heart pounding could be heard from a million miles away. I was restless, totally confused and curious. They said that curiosity killed the cat and I was just about to believe that, that statement is true. All through the day, I had been up and doing and to make matters worse, Wolfman had refused to disclose what the meeting tonight was all about.Had he finally thought of a million ways to kill me tonight? Or maybe he wanted to hand me over to the council so that they would give me more punishments which might be far more painful than the previous one that I had experienced. Why on earth was he holding out on me? I couldn't read minds nor could I get any information from anywhere concerning what tonight was all about.Could it be that there was a festival that he wanted us to attend together or maybe there was an event that he wanted us to go to. The more I thought about the possibilities the more frightening it became. I had no idea how this world worked and so I

  • Chosen Mate   A big surprise.

IRISI arrived at Dylan's room and as soon as the guards positioned at the door saw me, they opened it up for me to enter. This would be the second time I was stepping into his chambers but this was the first time that he was inviting me himself. The first time I came here was the time I yelled at Giselle and threw her out of his room. I had not stepped in here since then. My eyes looked at everything in front of me, and I was impressed to see how neatly arranged his room was.The color combination that was used in decorating the room sported nothing but grace and royalty. It was as if I had walked into a fairytale land. He had portraits of different designs hanging on the wall as well as fancy decorations and figurines placed at strategic places. This should be one of the best places that I have entered ever since I got here."Mr. Wolfman?" I called when I didn't hear a single squeak or voice from anyone. For a second there, I thought that I was alone in his bedroom, but I knew that

  • Chosen Mate   Attraction.

DYLAN"I think that we should take Mr. Wolfman for a walk. Don't you think so?" Iris suggested, and I darted my eyes to look at her briefly. We were taking a stroll around the mansion because for some reason she has suggested that we do so due to the fact that she couldn't sleep. I was not one to walk around with a lady neither was I the type of person that derived pleasure in caring about what others thought or wanted but with this woman, it was a bit different and I could tell. Each moment I spent with her always reflected to me in a different light. I could feel myself drawn to her and no matter how hard I tried to stop myself from feeling all of these, I just couldn't stop. I mean, she was a human for crying out loud and I still believed that the goddess must have made some kind of mistake when she picked her to be my mate. But why did every moment I spend with her feel nice?Besides, she wasn't my type. I was an Alpha and I was supposed to be mated with a woman who was strong en

IRISThat night I couldn't sleep after I got back to my room. I tried different positions but none were working. I turned and tossed away on the bed, but it only made it worse. I didn't know what I had done to Dylan, nor do I know if I had offended him in any way because he had simply refused to tell me.Today was supposed to be my makeup birthday but he had managed to successfully make it all about him. Was it what I said or did? I didn't lie though, so why did he take it personally? Growing up, I had no idea that he was going to be my husband. My mother and father had hidden the truth from me and made me live and grow up as a human in the real world. So how was I supposed to know that one day I will end up in his realm as his Luna and his wife?Everybody has a phase to their teenage stage. it was not something new. The part about me having a boyfriend was true, but we never had sex or any physical intimacy with each other. I had always thought that he was sweet and caring but that w

IRIS.With the help of my hand maids, I was able to get a work out attire for my training. I didn't tell them that I would be training with Mr. Wolfman because he had mentioned something yesterday about it being against the rules, so I wouldn't want to say anything that would get him into trouble. As much as I was still upset with him, I would never try to jeopardize his position especially with everything going around at the moment."How do I look?" I spread my arms wide apart for them to take a closer look. I was clad in training joggers and a sports vest that exposed the lower part of my abdomen. I didn't know how they managed to get their hands on such items but deep down, I was eternally grateful."You are dressed in the simplest of all clothing, but you still shine radiantly.""Awwwn," I cooed. "Thank you both so much. I will be leaving to begin my early morning routine and when I am back, I will send for you both to help me get ready for today, okay? Bye." I waved at them, and

IRISI sat down on my bed feeling dejected at what had just happened. I had always thought that Dylan was a man of his word and that he wouldn't go back on anything that he had said or promised, but I guess that I was wrong. He was just like the rest of them. I was assuming that he was a bit different but no, he still had the same ego, the same pride, and was too full of himself.I took off my clothing and decided to have my shower. When I was done, I got under the covers of my bed and pulled the duvet over my naked body and remained like that. Minutes passed but I didn't move an inch, neither did I get up from that position. Dylan's words had hurt me and I was not about to pretend that it hadn't. He was the last person that I expected to say those words to me, or maybe I expected so much from him. This was why you never trust men and steered clear from them. I didn't blame him though. I blamed my parents who were selfish and heartless enough to marry off their only daughter to this e

IRIS."I thought that you wouldn't be accompanying me?" Dylan asked when he saw me approach the car that was supposed to take us to the town. His escorts and guards stood at strategic places as though they were waiting on his command to do something."Unlike you, I don't put my anger on everyone. These people were hurt, and if there's anything that I could do to help, then I would. It has nothing to do with you," I responded when I got to where the car was parked. He didn't say anything but only turned his direction to the other side."Have a nice day, my Lady." My maids bowed down their heads to me, and I nodded."I will," I assured them smilingly. "And thank you for the lovely dress." With that, I got into the car, and we immediately drove away. I might not be happy to be here at this moment, but at least I was grateful for the fact that I was not hooked up in my bedroom all day. Even though I was angry at him for what he had done, it was better to take that anger to the great outdo

  • Chosen Mate   Telling the secret.

DYLANI watched them from afar, as I pondered on what they were talking about. I didn't know why, but seeing them together kind of struck a nerve as I felt myself getting more jealous by the minute. The fact that she had ignored me all morning after our little issue and had taken it upon herself to avoid me just didn't sit well with me.I mean, I was her husband, was I not? Why couldn't she talk to me instead? And why Kavan of all people? Was something troubling her that she couldn't tell me?They were both engrossed in whatever they were discussing to even notice me standing there waiting for them. I wondered what Iris was saying to Kavan, and why they looked so serious in their conversation. Was she reporting me to him, or probably complaining about something that I did to her? The more I thought about her ignoring me for him, the angrier it made me. I shouldn't be angry because I thought that I had already established a pact with my wolf that we both wanted absolutely nothing to do

Iris.I watched the Alpha Arnold walk in with the man who had refused to grace me with his presence for a few days now. I didn't know why, but I had gone from not wanting to have anything to do with the man to simply missing his presence around. But then again, as much as I missed his presence, there was still this warning in a part of my heart that kept telling me that I should not give him the chance to get too close with me. Otherwise, I would be playing with fire. I didn't even know what that was supposed to mean, but I wanted to pay attention to my sixth sense. In a way, it had helped helped me out of trouble.A sigh escaped my lips as I turned to pick up a handkerchief so that I would be able to wipe sweat off my face. I was alerted to how well I was healing now. If it was before, rather than that sigh that I let out, I was sure that it was going to either be a groan or it was going to be me being in tears from the excruciating pain that would take over me."Let me help with tha

Dylan.I woke up with my head banging hard like I had spent the entire night handling some dangerous mission that left my life on edge. I groaned as I got up from the bed and made my way to the...Wait? A bed? How had I gotten onto a bed? The last thing I remembered was Alpha Arnold trying to communicate with me and me rudely cutting him off. The events that follwed after that were a bit not so clear to me."Are you okay now?" I heard the gruff voice of the man I was just thinking about. I turned around and saw him sitting down on a chair, a book in hand - book that I was so sure he was not reading - and his attention duly focused on me. I looked around and saw that we were in the same hotel room we had gotten for almost a week in a row now. Or was it three days? My brain was still a bit foggy, so I couldn't think straight. But how? How did he end up being with me? Was he not supposed to be with Iris?"Is something wrong with Iris?" I asked him without even stopping to think."Oh, so

  • Chosen Mate   A drunk Alpha Dylan.

Alpha Dylan. Days after the doctor told me those words, my heart was no longer in the right places. I lost track of myself and barely managed to keep my shit together. The possibility that the woman might never remember who I was? How absurb! Except that I knew there was nothing absurb about the matter. In fact, since I got that revelation, my mind had been far away. Why?Because every time I stepped into Iris's room, I got that look that said that I was a nobody to her, so she couldn't overly be concerned about my presence. While I tried my best to act like the words and actions didn’t get to me whenever I was with her, once I was out of her room, my heart always sank down.It was so bad that even Arnold had begun to notice the difference to me. Now, I hadn't gone to the hospital for two days in a roll after telling Arnold to only contact me if there was something wrong or if my signature was needed for something. While I was at the hospital, I tried to urge the doctor to continue

Alpha Dylan. Just like the first time she would ever ask me that question, my mind still went blank again. How could she always ask me the same question every time she set her eyes on me?"Iris, it is me, Dylan," I said in a lame attempt to make her remember. The doctor came over to my side and moved around me to get to her. Once he was close, he began to examine her thoroughly. Unlike the first time, no one told me to move my ass out of the way. I waited, watching as the doctor used some sort of touch to check her eyeballs, roamed his fingers in front of her, and asked her a few questions also."How do you feel now?" He asked when he was done with his examination. He had his hand on the report card that was always seated at the edge of the bed. "A bit of a headache and pain," Iris mumbled out. "Dry throat also." She added after a while. The doctor nodded and wrote some things in the card. Once he returned the card back to the usual position, he turned to look at me first, then bac

  • Chosen Mate   Danger!

Alpha Dylan.I rushed into the hospital the next day, a few minutes past 10 in the morning. Or was it 11 AM already?I had no idea that I was extremely tired until after I got to the hotel, took a long needed shower, sank into bed and just dozed off instantly. The only thing that was not making me panic was the fact that there was no call from Arnold yet, which could only mean that Iris was fine."Good morning, sir." The receptionist, whom I didn't bother to find out her name, said to me as a form of greeting when she saw me. I nodded my head to her before letting out a short, "good morning to you, too." And then, I was rushing to get to the ICU so I would be able to see Iris for myself. "Arnold, how is she?" I called when I got closed enough for him to hear me."You are here." He said gently. He was standing close to the glass area, almost as if he was just checking her out. "There has been no casualty since you left. In fact, she opened her eyes about three times already, but they

  • Chosen Mate   Taking turns to watch over Iris.

Alpha Dylan.Five days of no show. Five days of no reactions. Five whole days of waiting for a miracle.Iris had not shown any form of life or even danger ever since she got wheeled into the operation room for over five days now. At a point, I became so worried about her state of just lying down, looking almost lifeless. I didn't know if I should be worried about that or if it was a good news in itself. The doctor had told me that she was responding to treatment, and it was good that she was not showing any reason for crisis as that could be bad for her. Now, I was just standing outside the ICU section she was put in and watching her through the glass wall. The first day after she got in here, I visited her for the number of times allowed. The second day, I did the same. The third day, I came in once and allowed Arnold to use the second time. The fourth time, I couldn't find the courage in me to go in there and look at her when she looked like she was in a lot of pain, if the way she

Giselle."He failed," I muttered to Juliana the moment I got into the mansion and settled on the couch in the living room. I didn't need to tell her some more about whoever it was who failed. From the way she gasped softly, I knew that she already knew just exactly who I was talking about."I never thought he would ever fail." The maid said as a way of response.I never thought that he could either. From the way the man had handled me and the ruthless edge he had around him, I had been so sure that Beta Daniel would not have been able to survive an attack from the rogue. But somehow, that hope had been dashed."He did injure Beta Daniel heavily, though." I sighed as I remembered just how bloodied the man had been. Heck, he had even given the authority to someone else because he needed to recuperate completely. If only the rogue had managed to deal one deathly blow to the man, all my problems would be solved by now."Maybe Beta Daniel had someone help him out of the blue? Perhaps that

  • Chosen Mate   Acting nice.

Beta Daniel. I hurried back to the pack, my blood still dripping from my injured arm to my shirt and trousers. In fact, I purposely held the arm over the clothing so that the blood would drip more on them, and it would look like I was injured in more places than just the arm.The moment I got to the gate, I was stopped by the guards who immediately camouflaged around me whole looking around, their swords ready just in case there was a danger lurking around."At ease," I said, making my voice sound low and disgruntled. "I made sure to lose the man before coming back to the pack," I told them. It would do no good to deliberately make them worry when I knew that all was well.Or could it not be?For all I knew, the other man could have played on my intelligence and was just waiting for the right time to strike me. Or maybe he was even interested in invading the pack and dominating it so that he would be the new Alpha."Still, do not let your guards down," I said as an afterthought. Afte

  • Chosen Mate   The deal.

Beta Daniel. I was still lost in my thoughts and concern for the pack that I almost didn't notice that I was already in the forest which bordered the two packs. A squirrel made a sound, and I paused as I looked at a tree and saw the said squirrel trying to get some kind of fruit which looked like nut. Or more like trying to crack it. An army of ant interrupted the squirrel on the mission it was after. The squirrel, sad that his mission was intercepted, raced from the branch of the tree to another in order to get the ants to leave him, still holding on to rhe nut like it's light depended on it.I laughed at the small event I had just witnessed. I tsked and ignored the squirrel and the ants and began to make my way back to the pack. I tensed when I noticed that there was a movement behind me.It was the same kind of walking pattern I had noticed before when I was going over to Alpha Arnold's pack. I doubted if it was the guards of the pack or any pack for that matter since this part of
