IRIS.

For the next three days after Alpha Arnold took me in, he barely gave me any time to myself

At first, I thought that he was doing whatever it was that he was doing just to use my plight to try and win my heart, but I soon realized the error of my ways. Rather than enticing me as I first thought, I noticed that he did was gave me a companionship. In fact, his presence was so soothing that I barely had any time to think about Dylan and his mistress.

I sighed, realizing that I was already so close to defeating the purpose of the man who wished for me to be happy. Even when I tried to stop it, my traitorous mind couldn't stop thinking about the man and wondering if he was now happy that I was out of his hair and he could now openly display his lady love.

Even before I could dwell on the thought any further, a gentle knock sounded on my door. Thinking that it was Alpha Arnold, I cleared my throat first to devoid my voice of any emotion that could betray me and my line of thoughts.

Iris. One thing was sure as I followed Alpha Arnold to wherever it was that he was leading me - I was scared. But even more than my fear was the adrenaline that was pumping through me as I tried to rack my brain to know just exactly where it was that the man was leading me to. However, my mind was relaxed since I was sure that there was no way the man was going to do anything bad to me.Shameless of me to admit, but I knew just how in love he was with me.As we walked, the people of his pack kept glancing our way. Once they bowed in greeting to their Alpha, they gave me different kinds of looks, some of which included jealousy from the ladies, distrust from the men, and curiosity from the children. I understood all the emotional displays that were being passed to me, but that wasn't to say that I wanted to be the recipient of them.“Come.” I heard Alpha Arnold called to me out of the blue. Starled, I paused and looked to my side. I was a bit surprised to see that I was standing in the

Dylan. "Did you or did you not find her this time around?" I yelled at the three guards that were left now back at the mansion. From the way the three of them avoided my eyes, I knew that the result of the search was once again negative. Still, I wanted to hear it directly from them."Answer me!" I yelled again, not willing to let them take the easy way out. The three of them immediately bowed their heads while looking around and at the floor, but never at me."Now!" I growled at them, letting my eyes change color from the normal sapphire to that of my wolf's - red - to show them that I was at the end of my wit already. One of them fell to the floor when he raised his head slightly and saw that I was indeed not ready to hear any excuses from them. The others with him quickly followed his movement, their knees falling to the floor."We combed all through the route and the pack from the beginning to the starting point, but we weren't able to find out where it is that she had gone to or

Dylan."Alpha Dylan, may I have a word with you?"Just hearing the voice was enough to sour my already bad mood times ten again. I stood rigid while contemplating what it was that I should do. I was well aware that my guards were looking at me and looking at the woman who seemed to have become brazen just because she slept with me. I knew without bring told that the guards would like to know what it was that I wanted to do about the woman.I turned slowly to find her standing behind me. From her stand, I could tell that she was ready to cause a commotion if I didn't grant her wish. She knew that I could read that from her posture, if the way she smirked at me was any indication. I gave her a smile of my own, but it wasn't a pleasant one. it was one which promised her a bad retribution if she dared to cross her boundary."I have no desire to talk to you. As a matter of fact, I think I was very specific in letting you know that I wish to never see you again. Could it be that you have no

  • Chosen Mate   An affectionate man.

IRIS.Life was hard for me to follow after leaving everything and everyone I love to carry through this journey called life all alone. I didn't know if my nights of always shedding tears were because I miss those important people - my mom, my dad, Clarise, and it was painful to admit but also in the picture was Alpha Dylan. If anything at all, he was the one I missed the most of all the people - even as he was the one who had thought nothing wrong about betraying me the most.I swiped away my tears, angry at myself for still caring and missing the same man who didn't blink twice before betraying me. I got up from where I lay on the bed, knowing fully well that the sleep would not come even if I tried to force myself for the rest of the night. I moved out of my room and made my way to the library to get some books to read as that was the only thing that could keep me distracted enough to not think about anything or anyone. When I got there, I was glad that the place was empty. I picke

Iris.By the time I woke up the next morning, it was to the smell of hot coffee and baked stuff which smelled like freshly baked bread. Even though I wanted to sleep back, the smell was too enticing for me to pass off. I sniffled the air real quickly to see if I would be able to get what exactly it was.“If you are awake, how about you just open your eyes and come and eat breakfast?” A male voice said with a chuckle. I opened my eyes the moment I heard the voice of Alpha Arnold. Sure enough, the man was standing at the door, holding a tray which I suspected to have the food in his hands. “Good morning,” I muttered to him while trying to clear my face with my hand. He nodded and came to where I was. Once he got close, he dropped the tray in front of me. True to my thought, the tray contained a cup of hot coffee and some freshly baked slices of bread. There was also cream, sugar, and butter there.“I'm so sorry it is not an elaborate breakfast. I wanted to make breakfast for you myse

  • Chosen Mate   His Judgment.

Alpha Arnold.I watched as the two guards who had dared to touch Iris immediately stepped away from her and began to shiver in fear - just as they should. I was no longer myself and I was ready to do a whole lot of damages to the two of them. How dare they maltreat her in my absence when I called a meeting to personally tell the entire pack members that she was my personal guest and I demanded both their respect and respect in their dealings with her. Yet they had gone ahead to do whatever it was that they wanted because I was not there to defend her. I got to the first man and grabbed him by his collar. He slumped in my hands but that was not enough for me to release the deadly hold I had on him.“How dare you?!” I growled at the man in an animalistic way. I looked over his shoulder to see the other man. “Do you both wish to die?!” The second man went down on his knee and folded his hands together to plead for mercy.“Alpha-” That was Iris, and I could tell that she was going to ple

IRIS.I watched as the man came to stand in front of me immediately. His entire expression was of one that was deeply concerned for me. He gheld my two hads i his and gave me an assuring squeeze. That seemed to relief my tensewd muscles a bit. His right hand relkeased my hand and went straight to my face. He cupped my face and patted the cheek in a sof gesture. I siughed , letting go of my frustruastion a bit more.“Iris, I need youbto understand that you are not a guest here. You are a part of this pack because i already accepted you as one.” He said to me in all seriousness.I knew he was trying to assure me, still that did nthing to clear my mind of the fact that i was indeed still a guest no matter what he said. I couldn’t even think of myself as a member of the pack when i was already having trouble accepting the one i was married into. There was no way i was going to trust someone that deeply again, only tro hage thst trust broken.“I know you are trying to make me feel better,

IRIS.Once my brain finally process the information I just gained, i hissed very loudly. I couldn’t even tell if i was angry that these men were after disgracing their Alpha or because despite how nice this man in question was, there were still looking for his downfall. The more i thought about it, the angrier i got. How dare them? I squeezed my gands beside me, not quite sure i would be able to hokd myself still and not go after the men, consequences be damned. Problem with that plan was the fact that i couldn’t recognize those men. I had been so scared out of my wit that it didnt occur to me to mark the faces of those traitors. I sighed, dropping the book in my hand on the table, knowing that i was already too troubled than to even think that i would be able to concentrate on it again.“What do i do?” i asked myself, still lost about the next step to take. I sighed for what was like the hundredth times that morning. I stepped out of the library and returned to my room. I gasped th

Iris.I watched the Alpha Arnold walk in with the man who had refused to grace me with his presence for a few days now. I didn't know why, but I had gone from not wanting to have anything to do with the man to simply missing his presence around. But then again, as much as I missed his presence, there was still this warning in a part of my heart that kept telling me that I should not give him the chance to get too close with me. Otherwise, I would be playing with fire. I didn't even know what that was supposed to mean, but I wanted to pay attention to my sixth sense. In a way, it had helped helped me out of trouble.A sigh escaped my lips as I turned to pick up a handkerchief so that I would be able to wipe sweat off my face. I was alerted to how well I was healing now. If it was before, rather than that sigh that I let out, I was sure that it was going to either be a groan or it was going to be me being in tears from the excruciating pain that would take over me."Let me help with tha

Dylan.I woke up with my head banging hard like I had spent the entire night handling some dangerous mission that left my life on edge. I groaned as I got up from the bed and made my way to the...Wait? A bed? How had I gotten onto a bed? The last thing I remembered was Alpha Arnold trying to communicate with me and me rudely cutting him off. The events that follwed after that were a bit not so clear to me."Are you okay now?" I heard the gruff voice of the man I was just thinking about. I turned around and saw him sitting down on a chair, a book in hand - book that I was so sure he was not reading - and his attention duly focused on me. I looked around and saw that we were in the same hotel room we had gotten for almost a week in a row now. Or was it three days? My brain was still a bit foggy, so I couldn't think straight. But how? How did he end up being with me? Was he not supposed to be with Iris?"Is something wrong with Iris?" I asked him without even stopping to think."Oh, so

Alpha Dylan. Days after the doctor told me those words, my heart was no longer in the right places. I lost track of myself and barely managed to keep my shit together. The possibility that the woman might never remember who I was? How absurb! Except that I knew there was nothing absurb about the matter. In fact, since I got that revelation, my mind had been far away. Why?Because every time I stepped into Iris's room, I got that look that said that I was a nobody to her, so she couldn't overly be concerned about my presence. While I tried my best to act like the words and actions didn’t get to me whenever I was with her, once I was out of her room, my heart always sank down.It was so bad that even Arnold had begun to notice the difference to me. Now, I hadn't gone to the hospital for two days in a roll after telling Arnold to only contact me if there was something wrong or if my signature was needed for something. While I was at the hospital, I tried to urge the doctor to continue

Alpha Dylan. Just like the first time she would ever ask me that question, my mind still went blank again. How could she always ask me the same question every time she set her eyes on me?"Iris, it is me, Dylan," I said in a lame attempt to make her remember. The doctor came over to my side and moved around me to get to her. Once he was close, he began to examine her thoroughly. Unlike the first time, no one told me to move my ass out of the way. I waited, watching as the doctor used some sort of touch to check her eyeballs, roamed his fingers in front of her, and asked her a few questions also."How do you feel now?" He asked when he was done with his examination. He had his hand on the report card that was always seated at the edge of the bed. "A bit of a headache and pain," Iris mumbled out. "Dry throat also." She added after a while. The doctor nodded and wrote some things in the card. Once he returned the card back to the usual position, he turned to look at me first, then bac

  • Chosen Mate   Danger!

Alpha Dylan.I rushed into the hospital the next day, a few minutes past 10 in the morning. Or was it 11 AM already?I had no idea that I was extremely tired until after I got to the hotel, took a long needed shower, sank into bed and just dozed off instantly. The only thing that was not making me panic was the fact that there was no call from Arnold yet, which could only mean that Iris was fine."Good morning, sir." The receptionist, whom I didn't bother to find out her name, said to me as a form of greeting when she saw me. I nodded my head to her before letting out a short, "good morning to you, too." And then, I was rushing to get to the ICU so I would be able to see Iris for myself. "Arnold, how is she?" I called when I got closed enough for him to hear me."You are here." He said gently. He was standing close to the glass area, almost as if he was just checking her out. "There has been no casualty since you left. In fact, she opened her eyes about three times already, but they

  • Chosen Mate   Taking turns to watch over Iris.

Alpha Dylan.Five days of no show. Five days of no reactions. Five whole days of waiting for a miracle.Iris had not shown any form of life or even danger ever since she got wheeled into the operation room for over five days now. At a point, I became so worried about her state of just lying down, looking almost lifeless. I didn't know if I should be worried about that or if it was a good news in itself. The doctor had told me that she was responding to treatment, and it was good that she was not showing any reason for crisis as that could be bad for her. Now, I was just standing outside the ICU section she was put in and watching her through the glass wall. The first day after she got in here, I visited her for the number of times allowed. The second day, I did the same. The third day, I came in once and allowed Arnold to use the second time. The fourth time, I couldn't find the courage in me to go in there and look at her when she looked like she was in a lot of pain, if the way she

Giselle."He failed," I muttered to Juliana the moment I got into the mansion and settled on the couch in the living room. I didn't need to tell her some more about whoever it was who failed. From the way she gasped softly, I knew that she already knew just exactly who I was talking about."I never thought he would ever fail." The maid said as a way of response.I never thought that he could either. From the way the man had handled me and the ruthless edge he had around him, I had been so sure that Beta Daniel would not have been able to survive an attack from the rogue. But somehow, that hope had been dashed."He did injure Beta Daniel heavily, though." I sighed as I remembered just how bloodied the man had been. Heck, he had even given the authority to someone else because he needed to recuperate completely. If only the rogue had managed to deal one deathly blow to the man, all my problems would be solved by now."Maybe Beta Daniel had someone help him out of the blue? Perhaps that

Beta Daniel. I hurried back to the pack, my blood still dripping from my injured arm to my shirt and trousers. In fact, I purposely held the arm over the clothing so that the blood would drip more on them, and it would look like I was injured in more places than just the arm.The moment I got to the gate, I was stopped by the guards who immediately camouflaged around me whole looking around, their swords ready just in case there was a danger lurking around."At ease," I said, making my voice sound low and disgruntled. "I made sure to lose the man before coming back to the pack," I told them. It would do no good to deliberately make them worry when I knew that all was well.Or could it not be?For all I knew, the other man could have played on my intelligence and was just waiting for the right time to strike me. Or maybe he was even interested in invading the pack and dominating it so that he would be the new Alpha."Still, do not let your guards down," I said as an afterthought. Afte

  • Chosen Mate   The deal.

Beta Daniel. I was still lost in my thoughts and concern for the pack that I almost didn't notice that I was already in the forest which bordered the two packs. A squirrel made a sound, and I paused as I looked at a tree and saw the said squirrel trying to get some kind of fruit which looked like nut. Or more like trying to crack it. An army of ant interrupted the squirrel on the mission it was after. The squirrel, sad that his mission was intercepted, raced from the branch of the tree to another in order to get the ants to leave him, still holding on to rhe nut like it's light depended on it.I laughed at the small event I had just witnessed. I tsked and ignored the squirrel and the ants and began to make my way back to the pack. I tensed when I noticed that there was a movement behind me.It was the same kind of walking pattern I had noticed before when I was going over to Alpha Arnold's pack. I doubted if it was the guards of the pack or any pack for that matter since this part of
