Jessica’s POV

Although Anastasha would act like a bitch most of the time, we all knew that it was just her mask to protect her fragile heart. After the tragedy she experienced before, being betrayed by her own mate who killed her entire pack, I salute her for being so strong and brave.

Despite that, she could still love and express it.

“Just because she wasn’t whining or being dramatic like most girls doesn’t mean she isn’t hurting,” I told Wendell.

He leaned back on his chair. “She isn’t serious. She’s just being like that to cope with everything.”

I huffed and looked at him in disbelief. Shaking my head, I affirmed Anastasha’s earlier words. “She’s right. You have a heart of stone.”

“Enough of that! Why did you come here?”

I squinted my eyes and walked toward the sofa, sitting on it. He’s definitely avoiding the topic.
