Chapter 4: Call it Coincidence or Destiny!

Third Person’s POV

Though Zayden had said that it didn’t matter to him but deep down in a part of his heart, he was deeply wishing that should be the case because if...if what Eric had said would come out as truth then things would be difficult. It would surely not affect Zayden but it would surely affect her and her family.

Eric felt awkward after listening to Zayden’s words but he quickly changed the topic. “Did you see the file of that rogue which I had kept on your table?”, He asked. Zayden closed his eyes when he realized that he was really disturbed today because he never delays in finishing the pending work. “No problem. Alpha. I will share what is written in that file!”

“Alright, go on!”

.

“He is now married, Alpha. He has a wife and twin daughters of 1 year.”, Eric said. “And he lives in the nearby colony as a human with his human mate.”, He added.

“Fine then, let’s pay him a visit.”, Zayden said and checked the time. “I am sure that mutt will be at his home right now, enjoying his family time.”, He added and took out his pistol and placed silver bullets in it. Zayden had dealt with him in his wolf form if that mutt would not be living between the humans. But no worries, he had another option. He was famous for having good criminal records in the human world.

“Zayden, I know you never forgive anyone but...but will you really kill him? I mean he has an innocent family.”, Eric asked but didn’t receive any response from Zayden. He started following Zayden when he started walking out of the bungalow.

Zayden’s car appeared in front of him but signaled to the driver that he didn’t need it. It was a small town, visiting somewhere with a car would gain a lot of attention and he wanted to keep things quiet.

“I am feeling hungry, Zayden. Also, I didn’t eat the food which the new cook had made because it was horrible. Would you mind if I eat something here?”, Eric asked Zayden. Zayden was about to snap at Eric but when he saw that Eric wanted to eat at the same place where he had seen that woman, he nodded his head before he could control his head. He was not sure but hoping to meet that woman again. Zayden was using his hat to hide his face because he didn’t want anyone to run away from him because of fear. That’s why Eric always used to talk with others and he used to stay behind him, giving orders and making decisions.

Grace had just locked the kitchen and was about to leave when she saw a man talking with the owner of the restaurant. It was already 1’0 clock, and she wanted to go home. That’s why she was praying in his mind that this man was not here to have dinner. When Chrisitan, the owner, saw her, she definitely knew that what he would say next was something she didn’t want to hear.

Everyone had already left, she was the only one left there.

“Sorry, Grace.”, He started. “They are really very hungry, so will you please prepare something special for them?”, He asked.

.

‘Could I say no? I guess, NOT.’, Grace thought. After all, Christian used to pay double or sometimes triple the amount for overtime and money was the most important thing which she needed at this stage of life. She sighed and nodded, before walking back into the kitchen. As she was so busy with her own things that she didn’t realize that a pair of blue eyes were staring at her without blinking his eyes.

Call it coincidence or destiny, but Zayden was not expecting to see Grace at this time. He meant it was too late. A small smile appeared on his lips, which was more like a smirk when he saw her, now even he wanted to eat the food that Grace was going to prepare.

He looked at Grace keenly and listened to the conversation between Christian and Grace, all thanks to his power.

Eric took a glance toward Zayden and saw his smile. His smile gave him a kind of happiness as Zayden was not someone who always smiled. They waited for half an hour until Grace came to their table holding the food in her hand.

She was about to keep those plates on the table when accidentally she dropped some of the food on Eric’s clothes.

“I am so sorry...I am really very….”, She was immediately cut off by Eric.

.

“It’s totally fine, Miss.”, He gave a warm smile to his future luna. Grace gave him a weak smile and passed him the tissue so that he could clean his shirt.

.

“I am sorry, Sir.”, She whispered softly, and too slowly, which brought a smile on Zayden’s lips, again. He was amazed by her gesture.

.

“As I said. It’s totally fine, Miss.”, Eric replied. He could help himself from thinking that Alpha was completely opposite to Luna. He was not complaining but Zayden didn’t have these manners and a kind heart.

Once Grace left the table, she was sure that these two people would not give a penny as a tip, after all, she spoiled the shirt of that man. Not to mention, even Christian would deduct her salary if these customers refused to pay the bill.  She was thinking about her loss when her eyes finally landed on the man with a hat, who had almost hidden his face with it.

‘That’s weird.’, She thought.

The rest of the services were taken care of by Christian. She was just waiting for them to leave so that she could leave for home. After a while, Christian came inside the kitchen, looking for her.

“They are asking for you, Grace.”, He said. “I just hope this has nothing to do with the stupidity which you did before.”, He added to which Grace looked at him with her big brown eyes.

‘And today is the last day of my job.’, She thought sarcastically.

.

“Yes, sir. How can I help you?”, She asked politely with Eric, with a small smile on her face.

.

“Here.”, Eric passed an envelope toward her. “This is a gesture to say that we loved the food and thank you for serving us the best food of our life.”, He said truthfully. After a long time, he had eaten something so tasty in the human world. Though these were Zayden’s words, since he had no idea how to speak with women, he had asked Eric to say these words to her. That’s a different thing that even Eric had felt the same.

Grace was a bit hesitant to take that envelope but after a while, she finally took it. “Thank you, sir.”, She replied.
