Chelsea's standpoint
We weren't always this poor, we had enough to care for our needs. Father had a toy factory which I always dreamt of working at, and mother owned a restaurant that wasn't that bad. I'd rate it a three-star restaurant. Mother worked her ass out as a teen to save up money to buy the restaurant, she worked for years before finally getting enough money to purchase it. The restaurant was her life, and through it, she met the mistake called my father. They got married and things weren't bad, we were all living fine until three years ago when my father borrowed large amounts of money from three different banks unknown to my mother. The first two debts were for a business that didn't work out, and the third was the money he borrowed and disappeared with my mother's sister. Father left us to pay the debts and used his toy factory, mother's restaurant, and the house as collateral for the banks. We lost everything, and now the house was next. And the cherry on top, my youngest brother had to be diagnosed with a heart problem.
Mother and I had been trying, but our best was obviously not enough. Indeed we needed a miracle. Hopefully, Delaney would be able to help me.
I left the food on the stove and walked to the living room wiping my hands. Angela was still watching television, but this time she was watching National Geographic Channel. She loves animals and wishes to be a zoologist or vet.
"Baby, should I get you some cookies while you wait?" She nodded. "And milk?" She nodded again. "Hot or cold?" She raised her second finger. "Cold it is, hold on for a sec."
I hurried to the kitchen and placed the cookies on a plate. Cookies and milk are one of the few things she likes. I was about to carry it when my phone rang again. I picked it up, it was Delaney.
"Good evening, ma,"
"Good evening, Chels, how's Angela?"
"Angela is fine, watching TV."
"Have you given her the drugs?"
"No, ma, she hasn't eaten yet, I'm preparing dinner right now."
"What did she ask to eat this time?" Angela was a weird girl, she didn't like eating and when she manageably ate, she ate abnormal foods. For example, she wrote that I prepare tomato and spinach salad with diced strawberry-dipped bacon and chocolate fried cheese. Then after the food is dished, I would pour blood orange juice all over it. Then I had to make her smoothie. The doctors said no one should bother her, just give her what she wants. Angela's system was stronger than any I had ever seen… She is just as weird as Autumn.
"Today, I'm preparing tomato spinach salad with diced strawberry dipped bacon, chocolate fried cheese with blood orange juice over it." I chuckled.
"Oh dear," she laughed. I could hear a deep chuckle beside her. "Our jet just landed, we will be there in an hour so make sure she has eaten before we get there because she won't eat again."
"Of course, it won't take time to… Shit!" I dropped the phone and hurried to the crisping salad. "Baby, can you come carry the cookies yourself? I'm kind of busy!" I shouted. I stirred the salad at the same time trying to pick the bowl of diced strawberry-dipped bacon. Angela ran in, "the island, it's on the island,"
She clapped her hands in excitement and brought the cookies to me. "What?" She pointed to the pot. "You want me to crush the cookies into the salad?" I asked with wide eyes. She nodded. "Angela," I cried. What the hell! She frowned. "Fine! Drop it there, I will munch the cookies into the salad," I fought the urge to retch, "you can get another cookie from the…" The little cheetah grabbed two apples from the fruit basket and dashed out too fast. "And she's gone. Maybe I should do some research and find out if her father wasn't a werecheetah or descendant of any werecreatures or even a vampire, this girl is suspicious." I grumbled.
I heard Delaney laugh, I forgot I hadn't cut the call. I hurried to the phone and picked it up. "So sorry about that, she wanted me to add cookies…"
"I heard," she laughed, "and I'm pretty sure her father wasn't a werecheetah, just a freaking fast soccer player. Like father, like daughter, I guess."
"This one isn't ordin… Hey!" I shouted as she suddenly ran in, grabbed the glass of milk, and took off again. "See what I mean?! She just runs like she has superspeed!"
"Chelsea, please, see you soon." She hung up still laughing. An SMS popped up on the screen of my phone. I grinned when I saw the text, she finally remembered me.
Her: Hey sis! It's me, your superior!
I typed in a reply.
Me: \(°o°)/Wow, I can't believe you remember me today.
Her: Sorry, I've been busy with things here and there. How's life?
Me: difficult, but I'm surviving. When are you coming back? Still haven't gotten enough of Italian dicks?
Her: (laughing emoji) fuck no, in fact, I'm so hung up on it I just finished riding two at the same time.
I gasped, she can't be serious.
Me: are you fucking with me?!
Her: no, I'm fucking them. Get a dick, Chelsea, it will do you good.
Me: (eye roll) whore.
Her: (dumb face) Anyways, I have a surprise for you, your package ought to arrive within the week.
I hurried to the stove and added the cheese.
Me; I swear on my father's life, Autumn, if you send me a dildo or fake breast again, I will package myself to Italy and commit murder of the highest degree!
Her: chill, it was only that one time… (Giggle) Wish I could have seen your face. I bet it was hilarious!
Me: hilarious?! I had nightmares! And that time you sent me naked pictures of guys, I couldn't sleep for a week as all I kept seeing was dicks chasing me in my dreams! I had to go crazy and hump a random guy before it stopped.
Her: oh geez! I need to award myself with gold, aren't I amazing? (Teary laughing emoji)
Me: (bored) get a life and get married.
Her: when there are so many cocks to try? Never! (Extreme laughing) But don't worry, your package may or may not contain anything sexual and shocking. Just remember to take a pic of your expression and send it to me, I have to see.
Me: if it's a stupid thing, don't ever come back to Washington or you're screwed!
Her: But Bebe, I've already gotten screwed. (Wink)
Me: bitch. (Laughing emoji)
I dropped my phone and focused on the food. I couldn't help wondering what she would send, probably something crazy and sexual. Autumn had been trying to get my sexual life up since my last breakup. She was my best friend, we had been friends since we were nine. We went to the same school and almost had every class together, even got grouped in almost all projects together. We even worked at the same antique shop once, we loved it. We would have graduated together but Autumn is as intelligent and clever as she is crazy. Her IQ was so high she passed a test that catapulted her straight to college. She was fifteen when she got into college. At first, she would come visit but when it got harder, she stopped and it has been years since I saw my crazy friend. Nevertheless, we were still best of friends and not going anywhere.
The only problem I had with her was her sexual attitude and trying to get me in. I swear, if she was with me, she would have convinced me to seduce Delaney's totally sexy boss whom I had a crush on. Something about him just felt right and familiar. But I know I can never be with a man like him, he's way too perfect and not my class. Plus, he doesn't even notice me. I had been working for Delaney for two years but had only seen him four times. The rest were in newspapers and TV.
Oh well, I just hope he will agree to assist me.
Chelsea's standpoint The doorbell rang, and I jumped to my feet and hurried to it. I unlocked the door to meet the smiling face of Delaney. She pushed past me and walked straight to Angela who was sleeping on the sofa. "Did she…" "Yes, she took her medication and is doing fine, just tired from waiting too long." "Hmmm, did she give any sign of speech today?" Laney asked with hope twinkling in her eyes. "Sadly, no," I murmured, her hope shattered, "but you don't have to give up hope, at least she's giggling now, isn't she?" "Yeah, better than it was four years ago," she rolled her eyes to her daughter once more and then smiled, "she'll be fine." "Angela is a strong girl, she certainly will. Did you come alone?" "Mordecai is in the car, he's waiting for us…" She explained as she carried Angela up. "Delaney, I don't know if it's possible to request something," I murmured nervously. She wrapped Angela's legs around her waist and arched a brow. I shifted my weight to one foot and cl
Chelsea's standpoint Tired out of my head, I dragged my miserable self out of the elevator and plodded to my apartment. I could barely see or think over my foggy eyes and brain, all I wanted to do was sleep. I was already planning on calling in sick for work tomorrow or just going late, I won't get fired after all. I lazily and drowsily pushed my door open, not noticing it was already open. Once inside the apartment, I kick my flats off and walk over to the couch; the beautiful sofa bed. I pulled out the bed and threw myself on it. "So tired," I moaned. I had spent all night working harder than I used to, the other female workers made me miserable because apparently, I was flirting with the boss who was also their crush. I didn't even flirt, but it was worth it. Wait still I give Autumn the gist, she would teleport back to Washington DC and try to play Cupid. I miss her. I miss him. God, I wanna kiss him! I saw his face in my dream, causing me to smile. I knew it was going to be
Chelsea's standpoint "Autumn—" "Three years, my best friend has been suffering and I didn't know, isn't that fucking great," she said sarcastically. "I'm sorry, I didn't want to bother you—" "What are friends for if they can't help each other?!" I flinched when she suddenly screamed in anger. Autumn rarely gets angry at me. "Weren't you there for me when my uncle tried to take everything away from me?! You encouraged me to be the amazing person I am today and use my wit to fight. All thanks to you I was able to get help from my godfather and am now the woman I am today—" "Au—" "What are you not bothering me for?! I'm sitting on top of millions and my best friend is suffering. Do you know how that makes me feel?!" Do you want to know the truth, I forgot Autumn was fucking rich. She lived her life so simple and plain it always made me forget her parents left millions for her before they died and left her in charge of their hospitals. "And you dare risk Carter's life! Why didn't you
Chelsea's standpoint Autumn and I walked into the diner while she talked about the boys she had encounters with. We walked to the counter. I smiled at Stella who was handling it. "Good morning, Stel, how was your night?" "It was amazing," she said, eyeing Autumn lustfully. Stella was into both women and men, mostly women. And with Autumn, there's always an attraction. "And who is this beautiful lady?" "Lady Autumn Of Milan, Italy," Autumn curtsied playfully. "You're Italian?" Stella gasped, she's a sucker for Italians. Autumn chuckled. "Not exactly, studied there. I was born here in America but my maternal grandmother was Italian/Japanese, so technically I'm an American Japanlian," she laughed. Stella laughed at her ridiculous joke. "Well, it's nice meeting you, I'm Stella Rain, by the way. You don't happen to be interested in women, are you?" "Sorry, sweetheart, all dicks and no puss," Autumn smirked. I rolled my eyes. "Fowie," Stella pouted, "but you can still try, I can mak
Chelsea's standpoint I turned to the door when I heard her awed with adoration. Angela's bodyguard brought her for the day, she was terrified and hiding behind him because of Autumn. I sprang to my feet and rushed to the door. "I am so sorry, Neman, I forgot my sister came home, I should have called to inform madam to keep Angela away," "You should have known better," he scolded. I looked at Autumn pleadingly. "Autumn, can you excuse us?" "Why?" "Have you forgotten about the child I told you I babysit for money? I just told you that, like an hour ago. Angela is afraid of people and is mute," "Nonsense," Autumn said with a wave, "she isn't mute, just extremely shy and insecure," "Autumn, she's mute," "Maybe she was. I've met mute children and I know how to handle them. Here, I'll show you," "Autumn…" she knelt and smiled at Angela who was peeping at her. "Hi there, Angel, I'm Autumn and I'm new here. I don't have any friends yet so will you be my friend? We can eat pizza crus
Autumn's standpoint Eleven years, for eleven years I had pictured the day we would meet again, how we would recognize each other. That night, I didn't see his face clearly. I might have had great night vision but it wasn't enough to see his face vividly. I wasn't sure how I would recognize him, but sitting there on the bed and staring at him with my mouth open was unbelievable. Compared to the wreck I saw years ago, this guy was dreamy, so dreamy it felt too real to be true. I rubbed my eyes to make sure it wasn't one of my fantasies again, to make sure I wasn't daydreaming about how he would look or foolishly getting myself wet. He was still there, gawking at me with lips parted and standing there looking like a sexy god who was banished from Olympus and had to blend in with humans. Angela tapped me, making me avert my eyes to her. She pointed at him, asking me if I knew him. "Something like that," I smiled. I averted my eyes back to him. "You look great, got better, huh?" He snapp
Autumn's standpoint He cleared his throat. "A what? Your brain?" He asked sarcastically. "Give me your stupid phone," I huffed. He dipped his hand into his pocket, brought out his phone, unlocked it, and gave it to me. I typed my number in and saved it with my name. I gave it back to him. He smiled cryptically and nodded. "See you tomorrow, Red," he winked at me. I rolled my eyes, causing him to laugh. "Don't call me red or I'll call you Sandy," I glared at him. He ran his tongue over his damask lips and shrugged. "We all have our weird names, my Mom did call me snickl…" he pinned his lips. I burst into laughter as I already knew the full word. "Ah, fuck!" "Snicklefritz? Really?" "Shut up," "It is my turn to laugh," I slid down the door and laughed my ass out while he muttered. He started walking away. "Hey, Snicklefritz snookums! Where are you off to?" "Fuck you, Pussums!" He shouted back. "See you tomorrow, Snookums!" I laughed. The door pulled open, forcing me to crash on
Chelsea's standpoint I sighed as I walked out of the back, my mind focused on Anderson. I wasn't sure he would ever want to meet me again. I was crazy about crushing on my boss. I'd always seen falling for one's boss as a cliche thing and loathed the idea. But now I was rethinking my stance, it wasn't so bad after all. In my defense, I developed a crush before I knew he was my boss and unlike other girls, I wasn't crushing on my boss because he's rich, more like he is cute and good-looking. There, I'm innocent. I froze when I saw the reason for my thoughts sitting on a stool and leaning on the counter with his eyes closed as he shook his head as if trying to scold himself for something. He looked so adorable. "Anderson?" I called quizzically. I mentally scolded myself for calling him by his name, he is my boss for crying out loud. In my defense—again—I'm not in the casino so… He opened his eyes and as soon as he saw me, his face brightened with a smile. "Hi, Chelsea." "H…h…h…hi,"
EpilogueAutumn smiled as she stared at the picture of her little family of five. Her darling husband has loved her just the way he did from the very beginning. Even though it had been fourteen years and a few months since they said their vows. His love had never wavered, even when they fought and ignored each other for days. She knew he loved her more than she loved him. She couldn't ask for anything more.Next was her first child and son, her frenemy, Kai. They loved each other, but never admitted it out loud. All they did was argue, which was mostly them teasing each other at every chance they got. Kai loved his father and younger siblings a lot and would kill to keep them happy. He wouldn't kill for his mother but would do anything to annoy her. Though annoying was his natural talent, his heavenly gift. Anywhere he enters, trouble follows. Kai The Menace like his friends called him when he was younger. He found joy in causing confusion among people, deriving happiness from frustra
Mordecai's standpointThe reception was going just fine with me ignoring Autumn as punishment for suffering me. There was an elevator the whole time and she made me carry her. Do you know how much she weighs? I was already planning on selling Kai if he should come out as a scrawny stick. The troubles he gave me were too much.I looked over at where she sat. She sat alone with hands between her legs as she stared at me intensely. And when I said intensely, I meant in a way her cuteness was troubling. It was difficult to remain mad with the way she was looking at me. She hadn't taken her eyes off me since I started ignoring her. Walking around with two intense eyes on me wasn't comfortable. It made me trip multiple times, satisfying whatever she thought she was doing.Anderson and Chelsea were receiving their wedding toast. I smiled as memories of us at our time replayed in my head. She was the most beautiful then, the most gorgeous woman, and even until now. I returned my glassy eyes t
Mordecai's standpointWhat will it take to get a woman to dress up quickly? I mean come on! What's with women and their forever dress-up?! Just like Autumn almost gave me a heart attack by not showing up on time, Chelsea was doing the same thing to Anderson and his situation was worse. It had been four months and a few weeks since the woman woke up from a coma. Andy decided a month ago that he wanted to get married, so he proposed and the wedding saga followed.Autumn dragged me to different events for the so-called quiet wedding. Who needs a dinner rehearsal for a wedding when you can just get the hell married with no stress or even planning what you want to say? I still don't see the point in it, and being dragged to it wasn't appreciated. I couldn't complain or decline because one, he was my other best friend, and two, Autumn Naggison would talk me to death and cry and scream and mix it all up. Pregnancy doesn't suit her.So there I was, going to check on why the women were being h
Two Weeks LaterThe heart monitor beeps continuously as I check Chelsea's pulse. I hummed so I wouldn't cry. Two whole weeks of hell. Brianna woke up—thank God—but the others hadn't. Chelsea was showing more signs of improvement since she kept drifting in and out of consciousness, but Meredith was unmoving which was a bad thing. I still had hope that she would be fine. Technically, she had been in a coma for a month while Chelsea had been in and out of a coma for three weeks. Brianna only lay in a coma for a week while I was unconscious for three days. My baby was still fine, thankfully.I dropped the notepad on the desk and went over to sit with her. I took her hand in mine and entwined our fingers together. A jolt of electricity charged through my body from our laced fingers. We were connected, Chelsea and I. Our bond was unbreakable and would remain that way."Chelsea, remember when we were ten?" I asked, smiling at the memory. "We went camping with Meredith's family. That was when
Autumn's standpointCrap! Crap! Million more crap! This is bad!I couldn't do anything else than follow him or he would shoot me. He was the kind that would rather kill me than let someone else have me. And if he found out that I had been playing him, he would get really pissed. I walk-run behind him, glancing over my shoulders for any sign of Mordecai or even Eugene. My hope dwindled with every step I took, freedom was as good as gone. The black helicopter spun dangerously in the middle of the field, its blades pushing every light thing away. The dust flew here and there, causing us to shield our eyes from it."Sir, we have to hurry! Eugene has noticed the copter and is com…" The short redhead barely finished his statement before a bullet hit him right between the eyes. I screamed with horror at the disgusting sight. Montana quickly dragged me around to the other side of the copter."Why don't we get in?" I asked as if I wanted to."They could shoot it down, come on," he pulled me al
Autumn's standpointTears rolled down the side of my eyes to the bed as I held the wooden bar of the headboard. Montona pounded into me as he groaned and moaned. I had to do it, I had to let him touch me or he would suspect and force himself on me. He thought the tears were for pleasure, but it wasn't. I felt filthy as I let the fool break my marital vow. He would have done it anyway, I just made it easier for myself so my baby wouldn't get hurt. Protecting my baby was my utmost priority, it was the only thing that mattered. All I wanted was Mordecai to hold me, but no, he wasn't there. I swallowed the sob from leaving my mouth, my body shaking with pain but to him, it was pleasure."Scream my name, baby, scream it," he demanded."Oh, Montona, fuck me harder, babe, that's it… Right there, fuck me harder, Montona…""That's right, scream my name louder!" I continued screaming and crying with pain though he was thinking it was pleasure. At least, I convinced him to wear a condom. He ejac
Aaron's standpoint"We don't have time!" Mordecai screamed. His phone rang at that moment. He angrily removed the phone from his pocket and answered it. "What?" He snapped. "What the fuck, Landon! Why are you calling me?!""Put it on speaker," I instructed. He put the call on speaker."How could you let him take Autumn?! You are irresponsible!" Him?"So says the idiot that couldn't handle his father's company! What do you want?!""It's all over the news, Brianna's accident, Meredith's attempted murder, Chelsea's hospitalization, and Autumn's kidnap! The whole world already knows someone out there is on to you!" He knew something."Landon, if you have any idea where Autumn is, please share.""I have no fucking clue. I hired him to get rid of you, not her. I warned him not to. I don't know where he lives, I wish I did." He said pathetically."You are completely useless," Andy spat angrily."You hired him to kill my sister, didn't you, Landon?" Mordecai said with a dark chuckle. "I will
Autumn's standpointI whimpered from pain and disgust. My whole body and that horrible smell. It smelt like dry urine and vomit, really sticky and smelly vomit. I forced my eyes open, already knowing what to expect. Unlike some people who wouldn't recognize where they were when they first woke up after being kidnapped. I knew I was kidnapped, I knew who took me but not who he was. I was more concerned for my unborn child and Chelsea, they probably knocked her out with the butt of a gun. The hit could cause a concussion and that wasn't what I wished for my best friend. If she didn't concuss, she was likely to bleed to death. Hopefully, they didn't knock her out.Surprisingly, I was in a bedroom, a dirty old bedroom. I was wondering what the hell they used the bedroom for when the devil opened the door and walked in. I rolled my weak eyes away from his evil smirk and threw myself back into my sleeping position."You are finally awake,""Yeah, no thanks to you," I said scornfully."Baby,
Chelsea moaned painfully as she turned her head slightly, she knew her muscles were tight. She forced her eyes open and blinked the blurriness away before looking around. She was in her living room, on the floor. Her head hurt like crazy. She whimpered as the pain started becoming more apparent as she put two and two together. She started panicking as she realized she was tied up and was bleeding from her head. The pool of blood spread out around her head to her shoulders. She had lost a lot of blood and was sure to pass out again if she didn't get help soon."Help," she shouted weakly, "somebody, help me…" her throat burnt from dryness and her eyes itched with irritation from falling tears. She felt like she had a nasty fever and would die soon. Her brain pounded against her skull, causing her heartbeat to speed up. She had to call out or she would die. Yet, all she could think of was Autumn and her baby, of what that man would do to her. One look at him and you'd know he's a psychop
