Elysia Pov
"Beg!" He shrieked at me. His voice was louder than before. I could feel tears rolling down my cheeks from the corners of my eyes. My whole body was burning for revenge, but I had no power, no means to save myself from this misery and coming chaos. I have to beg for his help, and I need to; It's the only way I can keep myself and then map out a revenge plan.
"Please help me." My lips struggled to mutter words that irritated my heart. Every glance at him and all I can see is his gun edge at Jake and killing him in cold blood.
"That's not good enough."
His brow slanted and his teeth gnashing in extreme anger. His eyes narrowed deeper, darker than usual. His jealousy was obvious. I know how much he wants me, but this isn't what love is, at least not how I'd describe it.
He was obsessed with me, yet he called it love.
"Say it!" He yelled, seeing how I was spacing out.
"Please." I pleaded, and he smiled. His face drew closer to mine. Instantly I clenched my eyes shut, and suddenly, I felt his lips on mine.
He placed them in between mine, forcing my lips to part. His saliva wet my lower lips, and his tongue snaked out and swept my nose.
This wasn't the life I planned for myself, but I was, kneeling in front of a man who calls himself my husband. Like a strayed cat, I remained on my knees, begging for his help that he was yet to give.
His hands raveled my hair, then he hauled it, making me glare at him. When I fixed my gaze on him, all I could see was a dominant man, ready to enslave me; even though I won't accept it, this is what I might become-his enslaved person.
"There are conditions you must adhere to, and I can't possibly trust your mere words and certainly not punish you for cheating on me." He growled. "You must come to the bedroom every night and adhere to whatever I say. To remind you, there is no way I will ever grant you any divorce, so stop trying."
While planning my escape to San Diego, I had sent him the eleventh divorce notice since our wedding, but like others, he declined it and never made it to consultation. This isn't a marriage but a trap.
"You must obey my every command. If you refuse my terms, you can explain yourself to the police."
"There is no way I'm accepting to obey your every rule Damon. We both know that wouldn't end well for me." I could no longer contain the urge to shriek at him.
"Then go out there and face your music. Remember there is CCTV in the hotel. If you think I'd tamper with any, then think twice." He smiled devilishly.
Right, I forgot about the CCTV footage, and by now, I'm confident the police must have used that to come to the house. At the hotel, I'd always give a fake name; sometimes, I walk past like I was lodge earlier.
I have no other option. The only man I could think of that could help me hover this embarrassment was standing right in front of me. The man who this city feared the most was no other than my husband.
"I'm sorry, Damon; I will adhere to all your rules and stick to whatever plan you have. Just help me out with this." I fell to my knees.
"Good girl." He smiled, and then Madeline's knock on the door broke the sudden silence between us.
"I'm coming; give me a minute." I squealed at Madeline.
I rushed to the closet and quickly put on sweatpants and a shirt. Looking like a thief, I ran down the stairs and was instantly greeted by the police.
Their faces looked as though they'd got evidence prepared and ready to pin the whole murder on me. I was innocent, but who would believe me if I came out to say my husband killed the man?
"Good morning Mrs. Contreras. We are sorry for disturbing you, and we just have a few questions for you." One of the officers said to me.
"That's alright. May I know what you are here for?" I asked despite knowing why.
"Do you know Jake Diaz?" The female officer asked with her brows raised. She glared at me as though she had seen me walk inside the hotel.
"No, I don't." I denied.
"Then, can you explain this?" She showed me a video that I patiently watched.
"I'm sorry, that's not me." I denied it bluntly. The officers looked surprised as they watched the video to see if they were wrong.
"Have you seen it? That's not me. I'm sorry, when did this happen?" I asked them in great pretense.
"The man died yesterday. While the CCTV is the one from two nights before." The blonde detective responded in a deep manly tone.
"But we can see clearly that it's you?" The female detective was so pissed. I could see the sudden red glow in her eyes. She was furious, but that would never make me budge from them.
"I'm sorry, but this is evidence, and you certainly are lying to us now. You will have to come with us to the station." The female detective said to me and brought out handcuffs. My eyes drifted towards Damon. He perched on the couch as though he wasn't concerned about what was happening. I couldn't believe this man, and I thought he would help.
His eyes were fixed on the glass of sparkling red wine in his hand. Gently swiftly twirled the mirror as he sipped from it. My heart growled, and a force of rage made me want to slap the glass from his thumps.
But before I could take a step forward, the detective had placed the cuffs on my wrist, making me spin around, and tears dropped from my eyes.
Like a criminal, they walked me out of the mansion, heading towards the cop's car. The female detective looked as though she was incredibly delighted. I don't know this woman, but something about her made me want to figure out who she was.
She placed her hand on my head and pressed down with force. She was bending my head so she could nudge me inside the car. I was unwilling, knowing that the minute I got in jail, that would be the beginning of many questions, and my family certainly would be embarrassed after what Adam had done.
Damon Pov Mornings aren't my favorite. To be factual, I detest mornings, and this is because of the woman I married. Though a married man, I still dream of waking up someday with a woman beside me, no other woman but my wife. Our lives have gotten even more arduous. I used to be the only one whose love was squabbling and trying to make our family work, but now, I feel nothing but disdain for my wife-so I think. .... The alarm rang loudly making me even more agitated than I am. I tried to put it off but I ended up grumpily shoving it on the floor. My eyes rolled provoked by the mess I made. I placed my legs on the frigid floor only to be greeted by a knock on the door. "Who is it?" I screeched at whoever was there. I know for a fact that it would be no other than Grayson or Madeline. It can never be Elysia or the kids. The kids must have gone to school already. And Elysia, certainly won't bother checking on me. "Sir, it's Rosaline. The police are by the door and request to see
Elysia Pov"Where are you taking my wife?" I was ravaged until I heard those utterances. I've never thought I'd be cheerful to see Damon but peeking at him in those oversized pajamas through the car's windscreen I've never been this thrilled in a long while. How could my enemy make me feel this way?For the first time, I admired his aura. Ambling towards the van with his brows slanted, and his long curved legs and shimmering silky skin that could make even men ask him for his skincare routine-I felt my lips slowly angling into a smile I found hard to control. My eyes squinted between the detectives. The next element I felt would make this all so lovey-dovey was a hug and kiss from my husband, but hell no! we will never share anything near passionate. I tried to snap out of my thoughts but heavens help me! This man is smoking hot. Perfectly shaped brows, and heart-shaped lips, with almond-shaped bright eyes that caused a tingling sensation between my legs. And to top it all, excludi
Elysia Pov"Madam, Mr. Damon is mandating your presence in his room." My grip tightened around my purse. I was dressed to go and check the company, and if it was affected by the news, but even now I can't seem to do anything, after consenting myself to Damon. My lips warped in a sneer as I whacked the door open and walked straight to Damon's. I didn't bother knocking on the door. He crouched on the sofa, his sleeves unbuttoned and his hair all dripping on his forehead. His tie was loosened and around his neck. His belt was on the sofa, and his pant's unzipped. The room was air-conditioned but I could see beads of liquid on his chest. I stride closer to him, and when he smiled, a drop of water dripped on his nose.'Maybe he just got out of the bathroom.' My lips parted as my eyes slowly trails his abs. He was holding a newspaper but dropped it on the sofa as he slowly stood on his feet. "You just barged in, I know I called for you but a knock on the door would be very polite. Don
Damon's Pov"The CCTV footage has been erased from the server. The detectives won't be able to prove where they got it from." I snickered as I read through the message from Warren I poured from the whiskey bottle beside the sofa on glass and sipped from it.The only thoughts that clouded my mind were the ways I tried devising to make Elysia my slave forever. I am going to dominate her.Suddenly my phone beeped, and when I gazed at it, it was a text from Lucius."Jake and Hector seem to have gotten no information from Elysia. From the information I got, I can tell Elysia was clueless, and Jake might have loved her. But their meeting was indeed planned by Hector, and it seems like they fell apart awhen Jake fell in love with Elysia."I could feel my thumbs slowly tighten around my phone. My teeth gritted as I couldn't help but envision Elysia with Jake.I thought it was mainly an affair, and she only used Jake because she yearned for freedom, but finding out that Elysia and Jake were
Elysia's PovThere was a pregnant silence between us, and for a moment, I felt as though I had bitten the lion's tail. His gaze narrowed further, unleashing his deep-rooted hatred for me. His grip on my arms tightened, making me moan in pain, but he cared less.Suddenly, there was a smirk on his face, a little mild, but it didn't fail to tell me he was enjoying every bit of my suffering. Every bone in my body despised him. The feeling of his breath on my skin made goosebumps appear all over my body as if a beast was holding me down. But that was what he was-a beast.Surprisingly, his grip around my arms loosen. When I fixed my gaze on him, stunned by his action, I caught the mockery in his eyes. This man is planning something devilish. I'm certain, and whatever it was, it was to make me suffer."I guess you’d be happy if we did it in your favorite hotel.” He muttered words that threw me in confusion. My brows crinkled as I watched him dressed up, and suddenly, he gripped my arms,
Damon Pov"Don't you dare try to look like you are some saint. Whore!"I turned the car's engine off just to hear my father shrieking at Elysia. I knew this was inevitable. Before I could leave the car, he struck Elysia on her face, and his fingers were visible on her cheeks."Father!" I yelled at him. "What? You brought this ungrateful bitch as a spouse, and now she has cost us a fortune." My father shrieked at Elysia again."Allow me to handle this. I will trace the accounts and fix this." I pleaded. I glanced at her; her head was lowered. Tears were dripping from her cheeks, and they dropped to the ground. I shouldn't pity her, but somehow, I couldn't stand there and watch my family humiliate her."You better fix this, and if I don't get my money back, she will pay for it. Even if I have to trade her organs, she will pay for the loss caused to this family. I never cared about how you treated my son, I let you be, but now you had to mess with my business. I will not forgive this a
Elysia's Pov."Five, four, three, two, and one."I took a deep breath after counting my fingers, gulping my saliva down my throat so hard that I felt the muscles of my bottleneck stiff. The hell! What just happened? My cheeks felt numb for a moment as I tried to reminisce about what had just happened. Why did my father-in-law feel the need to hit me?I kept asking myself if I would be able to come up with an answer when the only way was to question the man who had just struck my face with his old solid hands. Just then, my mother-in-law interrupted. Looking at her, I could tell she was pleased I got hit. She tried to hide it, but I could see the little smirk playing on her lips, but she likes to feign affection for me.I couldn't help but scoff, and instantly she glared at me but never yelled. She never yells when Damon is there."Then speak to your son and leave Elysia alone. Damon, walk your father inside. You boys can do your business while I take care of Elysia." She dismissed
Elysia's Pov"You have no shame." He spat on the ground and glared at me like I was some whore. "I never wanted to marry you, Damon; you know better that we don't have any relationship between us. So don't treat me like I was some whore." I yelled at him.His brows crinkled, wobbling his head at me. I could see the disgust in his eyes."Get in." He shrieked at me, opening the car's door."I want to visit my parents," I mumbled."There is no way I'm taking you there. Get inside the car." He squealed."Never; why can't I visit my parents after you've brought me to your sick parents' house." I groaned."What did you say?" His demeanor was frightening, and it was as though he was going to strangle me to death.I rolled my eyes, pretending like I didn't utter any words."Did you call me sick?" His father's voice interrupted, and before I could veer to take a glance, I felt his hand strike my face the second time."Get her out of my house, and I don't ever want her feet to touch my premise
Elysia's pov Damon turned towards me, his expression still unreadable. "If you want to be the CEO, Elysia, you're going to have to work for it. You'll start as my assistant, and we'll see how you handle the job. If you prove yourself, then maybe we can talk about making you the CEO." I gritted my teeth, my fists still clenched. I couldn't believe that he was making me jump through all these hoops just to prove myself. "I don't need your help, Damon," I spat out, my anger boiling over. "I can do this on my own. I don't need you to hold my hand and guide me through everything." Damon's lips quirked up in a small smile. "Is that so? Well, then. I guess we'll see how well you do on your own." He walked towards the door, turning back for a moment to add one final remark. "But just remember, Elysia. This is my company as much as it is yours. And I won't let you ruin it." I watched him leave, feeling a mixture of anger and frustration. I couldn't believe that Damon was making things so
Elysia's pov "I can't believe you're doing this to me, Damon!" I yelled, my frustration and anger mounting with each passing moment. "You know how hard I've worked to build up that company, and now you're telling me that I'm not fit to take over? That's complete bullshit!" Damon's expression remained calm, but I could see the hint of irritation in his eyes. "Watch your language, Elysia," he said firmly. "You're not doing yourself any favors by acting like this." I didn't care. I was too angry to care. "You know what, Damon? Screw you!" I spat, my voice rising with each word. "Screw you and your stupid mother! She've been trying to steal my company for months, and now you're using my memory loss as an excuse to take it away from me. You've taken over my family's company, and now you are doing this to me as well. Well, I'm not going to let that happen." Helen, who had been standing beside Kylian, stepped forward, her face twisted in anger. "You're lying, Elysia," she said, her voice
Elysia's pov "Take the money and move," he said, his voice shaking. I felt my heart pounding in my chest as I took the bag and slowly backed away. The man followed me, his gun still trained on me. As I spun to my right, and I saw his car parked just a few yards away. He motioned for me to follow him, and I complied. We walked in silence, the only sound being our footsteps and the occasional sound of a car passing by. When we got to his car, he opened the trunk and told me to put the bag inside. My hands were shaking as I tried to lift the heavy bag. Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my leg. I looked down and saw a gunshot wound. I stumbled, trying to stay upright, and the bag fell to the ground. "Come on, hurry up!" he shouted. I struggled to pick up the bag, feeling the blood soaking through my pants. Eventually, I managed to place the bag inside the trunk. I turned to face him, my eyes blurry with tears of pain and fear. But then, something strange happened. The man was lying
Damon's pov My heart skipped a beat as my father rushed into the room with a gun in his hand. I had never seen him so unhinged before, and it scared me. "Father, put the gun down," I said, trying to keep my voice calm. "This isn't the way to handle things." But my father was beyond reason. He pointed the gun at Quincy, his eyes blazing with anger. "You'll pay for what your father did to me!" he shouted. I could see the fear in Quincy's eyes as my father took aim, and I knew I had to act fast. I lunged forward, grabbing my father's arm and trying to wrestle the gun away from him. "Stop it, Father!" I yelled. "This isn't the answer!" But my father was too strong for me, and he pushed me away with a fierce shove. I stumbled backwards, watching in horror as he pulled the trigger. The sound of the gunshot echoed through the room, and for a moment, everything was still, as my father shot at the roof. I felt sick to my stomach as I realized what had just happened. The board members
Damon's pov It was morning, and Elysia looked radiant as she sat at the breakfast table, sipping her coffee and nibbling on a croissant. But even as I watched her, something nagged at me, deep in my heart. Had she remembered? Had she figured out what I had done? As she rose from the table and headed upstairs to change, I took a deep breath and tried to shake off my anxiety. But when she reappeared, dressed and ready to go, my nerves were still on edge. I tried to put on a brave face as we headed to the living room, where our son Ian was playing with his toys. But I could feel the tension between us, and I knew that something was off. As I settled onto the couch, my phone beeped with a new message. I glanced over the screen, and my heart skipped a beat. It was from Julius, "Quincy Randolph, is at the transportation company, he held an open meeting. Where are you?" My eyes turned red with anger. How dare he? How dare he try to steal my company out from under me? I stood up, my
Elysia's pov As I drove down the road towards the beach Helen had picked, I encountered heavy traffic. The cars moved sluggishly, causing me to feel restless and anxious. I kept checking the time on my dashboard, hoping I wouldn't be too late. Finally, I reached the beach, and as expected, Helen was already there. She had parked her car and was waiting with a big bag by her side. As I parked my car beside hers, I noticed that the beach was empty, with no one around except for us. It was just afternoon, and the sun was shining brightly, casting a warm glow on everything around us. I got out of my car and went over to Helen, feeling curious and a little apprehensive. "Hey Helen," I said, "where are the company documents?" Helen looked at me with a strange expression on her face, and then suddenly went down on her knees. "Elysia," she said, "I can never hand over those documents to you." "What?" I said, feeling stunned. "What are you talking about?" Helen opened her bag, and my eyes
Elysia's pov We were so excited but then, we excitement quickly fades as I realizes that they will need to open the safe. I takes a deep breath and looks at Macy with a worried expression. "I don't know how to open it. Maybe my fingerprint will work?" I suggests, beginning to stamp my fingers all over the safe. Macy shakes her head, "I don't think so, it's probably not set up to recognize anyone's fingerprints but the owner's." My heart sinks as I realizes Macy's words are true. I give up, tears forming in my eyes as I contemplates the idea of forcing a memory I might not even remember. Macy notices my distress and quickly thinks of a solution. "Instead of that, let's try all birthdays. We'll start with your parents and sister, then move on to Kate's brother, Adam, Damon, and Ian." I nods and they begin trying all possible dates, but the safe remains locked. Frustration builds up as they try over and over again. My anxiety worsens with each unsuccessful attempt. Just when we wer
Elysia's Pov "I don't know what you're talking about, Damon," I say, my voice shaking with fear. "Please, you have to believe me." Damon looks intrigued by my denial, and for a moment, I think he might let me go. But then he shakes his head and releases his grip on my arm. "Fine," he says, his voice cold and distant. "Go." I rub my wrist slightly, trying to ease the pain where his fingers had dug in, before turning and walking slowly out of the room. Once I'm outside, I break into a run, my heart pounding in my chest as I race towards my car. I can feel the fear gripping me as I drive out of the villa and onto the street. My hands are shaking on the steering wheel, and I find it hard to catch my breath. As I drive across the bridge, my mind is a blur of emotions - fear, anger, and confusion all mingling together. And then, suddenly, I can't take it anymore. I pull over to the side of the road and jump out of my car, gasping for breath. I stand there on the bridge, the wind whipp
Elysia Pov I felt a lump in my throat, as though I had always suspected that Helen had a wild side, but I didn't want to believe that she would sleep around with anyone. "Do you have any proof?" I asked hesitantly. Macy then said, "Actually, Elysia, you secured pictures of Helen with some guys a while ago. Don't you remember?" I shook my head, feeling a wave of confusion wash over me. "I don't remember that, Macy. You know I lost my memories." Macy sighed and said, "That's right, I forgot. Look, Elysia, let's go to the office tomorrow, and I'll help you go through all the files and paperwork. We'll see if we can find any evidence of what Helen is up to." I nodded slowly, feeling grateful for Macy's help. "Thank you, Macy. I don't know what I would do without you." Macy laughs, "You don't have to thank me, Elysia. We're friends, and I'll always be here for you, no matter what." "Macy, I talked to Helen earlier, and I threatened her. I told her I wanted the company, but she said s
