I felt nothing change my expression when I went back into the room after the call. I had so many theories right in my head but none of them felt right, It's not possible that Elysia had something to do with Micheal's death.

It might be the person she was waiting for but the question was who?

I racked my brain several times to check who it could be, but nothing came back up.

She isn't having another affair, is she?

I shook my head, no, it's not possible right now. She is not that dumb.

"Is everything okay?" She asked as soon as I came in sight.

I plastered a smile on my face, "yes, everything is fine. That was Warren." I lifted my phone.

She yawned but didn't say anything, there was nothing to say.

"My head feels woozy," she said as she massaged her scalp. I took her fingers off and replaced them with his.

She groaned as my fingers dug into her scalp and I kneaded the soft flesh there.

"Elysia?" I called out.

"Hmm," she said.

His voice softened as he realizes that I won't budge. "Baby, baby. Come on." "Say please," I taunted. "Please." He said instantly. The grin fell away from my face. "You are no fun," I grumbled. "I promise to play with you when I come back but this is important." I blushed hard when he said that. "I will hold you to that." I uncuffed him, he kissed me on the cheek before leaving. I hummed to myself, there was nothing to do in the house. I went to the living room to watch a show. I had barely sat down when the doorbell rang. I got up from my seat, my heart pounding with fear. I relaxed once I told myself that it could be Damon or any of the guards. I took a deep breath and walked to the door, opening it to find a delivery man standing there with a small box in his hands. "Elysia?" he asked, and I n

Damon I got to the casino and as expected, everywhere is rowdy and everyone is scared. I went into work mode to do the damage control and get everyone in order. The police came to investigate and it turned out they think someone set the casino up. I was in my father's office with the insurance manager as he talked us through it. "The damage done to the casino is so much that I am having trouble piecing it together." He said as he looked through his notepad. "Spit it out." My father snapped at him. He nodded quickly. "Your insurance won't cover it, and after a full check of the damages, I am afraid the money is too high." "How much are we talking about?" I asked him. He shook his head, letting out a dramatic sigh before turning to face me. "One million dollars." He said. My eyes widened at the amount, it was outrageous. "What?" I asked as I banged my fist on the table. "It's too much," I continued. He shook his head, exhausted from having to deal with us. "I know but tha

Elysia I stumbled back when the resonating sound of the gunshot rang in my ear. "Damon?" I whispered. I heard the groan and then a thud, my heart tightened, and fear gripped me. I felt goosebumps all over my body. "Damon?" I called out again. "Damon!" I yelled out when I didn't hear anything from him. My body froze, this is all my fault. I hung up and quickly wore my clothes, stuffed all my clothes insidetravelingling bag, and rushed out of the apartment. I muttered to myself, saying a quick prayer for him to be okay. "God please!" I whimpered. I hailed a taxi that would take me straight to the airport. "Taxi!" I yelled. They all passed by without a care in the world. I stomped my foot hard on the ground in frustration. "Oh, God!" I dragged my hand across my face. If something happens to Damon then it would be my fault, who answers calls in the middle of work, anyway? A yellow taxi stopped right before me, a woman was running to enter when I blocked her. "The airport, pl

You'll start as my assistant, and we'll see how you handle the job. If you prove yourself, then maybe we can talk about making you the CEO." I gritted my teeth, my fists still clenched. I couldn't believe that he was making me jump through all these hoops just to prove myself. "I don't need your help, Damon," I spat out, my anger boiling over. "I can do this on my own. I don't need you to hold my hand and guide me through everything." Damon's lips quirked up in a small smile. "Is that so? Well, then. I guess we'll see how well you do on your own." He walked towards the door, turning back for a moment to add one final remark. "But just remember, Elysia. This is my company as much as it is yours. And I won't let you ruin it." Damon's expression remained calm, but I could see the hint of irritation in his eyes. "Watch your language, Elysia," he said firmly. "You're not doing yourself any favors by acting like this." I didn't care. I was too angry to care. "You know what, Damon? Screw you!" I spat, my voice rising with each word. "Screw you and your stupid mother! I kept checking the time on my dashboard, hoping I wouldn't be too late. Finally, I reached the beach, and as expected, Helen was already there. She had parked her car and was waiting with a big bag by her side. As I parked my car beside hers, I noticed that the beach was empty, with no one around except for us. It was just afternoon, and the sun was shining brightly, casting a warm glow on everything around us. I got out of my car and went over to Helen, feeling curious and a little apprehensive. "Hey Helen," I said, "where are the company documents?" Helen looked at me with a strange expression on her face, and then suddenly went down on her knees. "Elysia," she said, "I can never hand over those documents to you." "What?" I said, feeling stunned. "What are you talking about?" Helen opened her bag, and my eyes
