GENERAL POV

The room felt heavy, as if the weight of the world had settled between the three siblings.

Isabella’s sitting room appeared dimmer, as though the curtains were holding back more than just the sun.

Lilian had left in a rush minutes ago.

The hugs they exchanged before she walked out had been brief and tentative, as though none of them could find the right words to say; she had promised to check up first thing tomorrow.
